So just feeder goldfish alone don't provide enough nutrition for an Oscar's diet, they still have BONES(roughage) and SCALES(roughage) + live enzymes.

If you take cichlid food and feed it to the goldfish it will have more protein. The most important thing is the live enzymes, which you don't get from dry foods. Your fish will also get brighter orange colors from eating goldfish. The key is to feed your fish a balanced diet with lots of variety. dry and live foods. that dude is wrong any chemist will tell u

Feeders are bred in horrible conditions and can possibly give your Oscar parasites or disease which are an absolute horror for your fish and stressful on you and not always easy to get rid of. On top of that, feeders have very low protein and nutrition. Give your Oscar some healthy stuff like stuff from Hikari or Omega One.

@MrGman0909 First off, they are not just all fat. Goldfish have bones(calcium) and depending on what you feed them, a stomach full of food. If you take cichlid food and feed it to the goldfish it will have more protein. The most important thing is the live enzymes, which you don't get from dry foods. Your fish will also get brighter orange colors from eating goldfish. The key is to feed your fish a balanced diet with lots of variety. dry and live foods. that dude is wrong any chemist will tell u

I knew Carl myself, my dad saved him from the hospitals more then once.

@SAmOrMP it's not required to feed em feeders, live foods help with enzymes and color more then anything else, bugs are more preferred over goldfish.
Oscars are insectivores
a good variety in diet always helps.

@justinbieberluver493 one for the large feeders, a half dozen small feeders in a day, please note that two different Oscars are in this video. The video footage is from several different days, weeks, months.
You don't want to keep feeders with your Oscars because they create a huge amount of waste and dirty up the water within a few days.

just cause your 10 doesn't mean you know anything about biology . Fact if it's dead, the fish won't get live enzymes. Oscars need live enzymes to be healthy, colorful, and to live long.

Feeders are bred in horrible conditions and can possibly give your Oscar parasites or disease which are an absolute horror for your fish and stressful on you and not always easy to get rid of. On top of that, feeders have very low protein and nutrition. Give your Oscar some healthy stuff like stuff from Hikari or Omega One.

just be sure you don't over pet your fish, once in a while during feeding or tank cleaning is alright

I'm shock your fish hasn't jump out the tank. My Oscars are no where near as large and yours and one jumped out the tank during a feed frenzy. (I was feeding them at the time and Cesar got a little too excited. )
