  • I agree with Pete about Spider-man:BND. It just seemed Marvel was lazy in the way they rebooted Spider-man, and then they brought back Harry Osborn, but not Gwen Stacey? WTF?? Marvel should have just made Spider-man another sleeper Skrull and Spider-man joining the Avengers, getting close to Iron Man, and then unmasking himself could have just been another piece of the Skrull's plans for world domination.

  • luv the music! Show pics of the comics your talking about....

  • Pete, you're looking pretty blitzed there buddy.

  • Rest in peace Oscar Grant the 3rd

  • pete is funny

  • Good call on #11, I was a One More day hater, but i agree with alex. I came back on Brand New Day, and i've been enjoying every issue so far!

  • Ooh, new camera? Great picture quality. :>

  • it would be nice if you put some images on the reviews, maybe the covers of these books

  • I know alot of people have said this but Brand New Day? seriously? This storyline basically removed Spiderman from any importance in the Marvel universe and gave us yet another monster faced guy on a glider. People can defend it all they want but all this has done is given Jackpot her own title while Spiderman was in the Jungle

  • Brand New Day?! Are you serious? That was the biggest cop-out on Marvel's part and did away one of the most important parts of Civil War [within months] to the point were its like why even bother having the character unmask in the first place. Most Importantly Spiderman would never make a deal with the devil and that alone screwed up one of the most popular characters in comics, for me at least.

  • Hell yeah Patsy Walker Hellcat in the Top 20!

  • Wow, I can't believe you guys put Brand New Day in there.

  • Though all of your other choice were great picks, I got to agree.

  • good job on pumping out episodes frequently

  • My Top 20 Of 2008 20. X-Force # 6 19. Captain America # 42 18. Iron Man # 8 17. Titans # 3 16. Superman : New Krypton # 1 15. Batman # 672 14. Hulk # 6 13. Final Crisis # 5 of 7 12. Secret Invasion # 1 11. Thor # 1
  • I would say that while spiderman is definitely the most popular character, supes is by far the most 'iconic'

  • Madman should be in the top five!!!

  • i've actually really liked asm also. so much fun. and since u guys recommended pasty walker i got all the issues so far, haven't read them yet but can't wait

  • Everything Pete hates is awesome.

  • I wish I could get kicked in the nuts by Dan Slott

  • How the hell did Brand new day even make it up to number 100? The only good thing from that this year was New Ways to Die and that would be on my list.

  • I hated One More Day, and Brand New Day started off pretty lousy, but I have to agree that ever since New Ways to Die, I've really enjoyed Amazing again.

I also have to TOTALLY agree that all these stories should have been told with Pete & MJ still married. I abhor Quesada for what he did to their marriage.

  • Well, I think X-Force and Hack/Slash should get a little higher spot, also, you have here Spider Man; Brand New Day and Patsy Walker: Hellcat, Cable is way better, and you know it ;) I think that the Spider-Man and the X-Men limted series is impressive.

  • Brand New Day is disgusting. If Spiderman was the most icononic and simbolic character in comics, Quesada murdered that comic and for what? Corny villans like the Freak? Peter as a major loser instead of an underdog? And Villan puns? "If they try to stop me, they're gonna draw a BLANK!"?

    Reallly?

    REALLLY?

  • Brand New Day made me read Spiderman again.

  • Thanks for the list guys. As usual, I enjoyed the humor and insights, especially in regards to the topic of Brand New Day. Hey, are you guys going to be at the NYCC? I've been planning to go, but, well Febuary in New York is usually the start of blizzard season :/.

  • We will indeed be there, all day every day, in the Newsarama skybox and out on the floor talking shop. Definitely come and say hello!

  • to be perfectly honest, i agree with pete completely! why oh why is patsy walker hellcat even IN the list!

great to see madman in there, id have put it higher though as its one of my favourite series.. but thats just me!

  • Hehe, Justin was awesome, "you're stupid" at Pete, and translating "high concept" XD

  • Patsy Walker: Hellcat is something I really want to read. My local shop doesn't have any back issues.

I just can't get into X-Force. The first 6 had terrible art and I'm pretty lost on what's still going on.

  • Well I have to disagree about X-Force, Crane's art I love, and this new volume is awesome storywise!

  • Brand New Day as #11, are you kidding me?! OMD/BND sucks!!!

  • OMD was bad and BND started off really rough, but have you read it lately? I don't really care about Spider-Man one way or the other (not even Ultimate Spider-Man), but the last 4 months or so have been great.

  • Alex I think I've seen that outfit before, you're my fashion guru. you guys basically summed up every message board fight over BND that have been going on all year long

  • spiderman brand new day sucks. secret invasion should be number 1

  • Dude, Secret Invasion sucked too, though not as bad.

  • SCALPED was my #1.

    Love that series!!!!!!!!

    (and 100 Bullets #2)

  • you guys do a great job and i love the different opinions on the books...keep it going

  • Great greaaaaat show! The best episode for 2009!

    Cheers!
