is it just me, or is the recoil spring rusty?

It isn't rusty there is an orange coating on one section of the recoil spring for directional guidance. My P229 E2 is the same way.

I was terrified when I saw that barrel lock. My brain instantly shouted, "AIRSOFT! NO!" I thought I had been tricked into seeing another airsoft gun, I was outraged! But alas, it was a real P226 and things are better now. Very good video except for the terrifying start. :)

@AmyLeesPetWookiee I used the lock for a few weeks then tossed it into my many lock drawer. Nothing beats a good safe.

@AmyLeesPetWookiee I here ya, it is amazing how the camera makes it look like an Airsoft. Fear not, the barrel lock is no more. All guns are in a safe now, lock free.

Visuallock. It actually came with the Sig.

@mmj901 you are forced to buy one in the fine state of MD. they add an extra 20 plus $ to your bill. MD requires a handgun to have that when purchased unless it has an internal locking mechanism. get home and throw it in the drawer and never use it again, the one they put on my ruger wouldn't even let my case close properly.

Can you recommend a good holster for the P226?

I just have the one made by Uncle Mike's size 5 and 15. It's the thinnest holster I found and it holds my p226 fine.

the size 15 is smaller than the 5, but they both work fine.

I quick draw from it when I practice and I have no problems.
