  • Anyone have the opening at wnew, riding a bike down the sidewalk? CHUCK , do a retro opening and closing from one of your shows, you have a ton of babyboomer fans out there,we all remember.

  • THAT MAY BE 'TOMMY SEVEN '

  • Dear Mrs.Magioo.

The name of the WABC TV Ch.7 NYC kids tv clown

    character is"Tommy Seven"..not "Johnny Seven> "Tommy Seven'was played by Mr.Ed Bakey.

  • i see some ernie kovacs influence in this show

chuck must have been a kovacs fan

  • OMIGOSH! I only lived in Norwalk, CT from 1962 till 1968, but Chuck, Sandy Becker, Soupy Sales, Morty Gunty, Paul Winchell ... I could go on forever. Remember "Johnny Seven?" He was a clown, can't remember. He'd sing "East Side, West Side, all around the town, the kids love Johnny Seven, he's our favorite TV Clown?" God, that was so long ago!

  • What was the name of the show that had the Johnny Seven clown? I'm almost sure I was on one of the shows when I was very young but my folks don't remember it.

  • Dear Essex, Chuck and Paul's NYC based kidult tv comedy

shows actually went off the air in 1967.

  • I loved the silent writer bit. "Saturday Night" has never come up with a commercial parody this good.

  • My goodness, this brings back memories. All good!

  • Unbearably unfunny AHHHHH

  • Ditto for me, send Chuck my absolute best.. he kept me laughing with his great sense of humor..I loved "Let's Have Fun" on Sundays. I met him once as well, got his autograph, at "A Night With Groucho", at Carnegie Hall as a 13 year old. I got Woody Allen's and Elliot Gould's, but it was Chuck's that did then, and stil does mean the most to me.

  • Chuck is a dear friend of mine and is actually still working to this day!

  • met him on the street in NYC one day in 1969 after the show was canceled ...he could not have been more gracious or friendly to a 15 year old kid...Best Wishes Chuck !!

  • I was in the audience of one of his '66 shows (I was 8). Got to meet Paul Ashley & he showed me "Lester" up close. Later that evening my mom and I also ran into him about 2 blocks away from the WNEW studio and, as you said, he was a joy. It was freezing cold and he still stopped for a few minutes to chat.

  • This is exactly how Chuck's show opened each weekday afternoon in 1965-'66, at 4 o'clock.

  • An American Benny Hill minus burlesque

  • WOW
