as an Englishman I dreaded us having to face Warnie, who for me is not only the greatest spin bowler of all time, he was also a fantastic all-round cricketer. The action is the same one for Warne's slider too, only the wrist instead of imparting overspin off break hybrid, produces a leg break type spin with no over spin or top spin, and spins a lot less than his leg break.

A few years ago i won the bowlerof the year award bowling medium pace....but the last few seasons ive taken only 6 or 7 wickets. And practised alot of legspin in the nets which my fellow team matestold me i should try doing. In my last match this season I thought to myself I thought I will bowl some legspin and sweet jesus it was great. i spin the ball a mile with nice flight it is not a bad thing!! my friend had the spin coached out of him and told its fine just to bowl straight, BOlLOCKS!!. that is not spin bowling if you get unpredicatable rip then the topsinner and googly are more effective. best figures of my life was when i was ripping it a mile, i took 7-38 off 10. scored 72* as well :)

pmh632, this stuff is dead basic, he's not giving a great deal away here. If you want to know about wrist spin bowling you need to read Peter Philpotts book The Art of Wrist Spin Bowling or better still try and get hold of Clarrie Grimmetts 'Taking Wickets'.

I too agree to some extent with Spinking. Don't get hung up on all the variations, a big leg break and one with more Top-Spin, some drift and dip will get you shed loads of wickets and Wrist Spinning is the ultimate buzz in cricket.

this videos gotta be doing something right coz its over 2 years old and thens when i started bowling leg spin and ive now been told that i spin the ball to much. and man any young leg spinner reading this dont worry a hell of alot about bowling every variation there is your best weapon is natural variation. example : bowling a flatter faster less loop leg spinner, then a slower more flighted big turning leg break those variations are your greatest weapons. god i love being a leg spinner
