  • I first read about this song in a book by a Cork man who signed up to the British Army in 1912, was looking for it for ages. It's by John Frazier (1804-1852). What a lovely sung version by Sean Tyrrell.

  • superb

  • What a beautiful song for "Marching Season".

    Thank you Lukessummer.

  • Such a great song...the futility, tragedy and now hope... for our children...to those of us that lived through those troubled times, it was like a crucifixion watching it al over the years, hard to take..I couldnt...and I left...

I was in Enniskillen yesterday, walked past the War Memorial..please God never again...

  • Well said Pete

  • Just back for another listen.

I was going to say it would be a good day when the white banner between the green and the orange of the Irish flag was much wider than the other two, but then I thought maybe it would be better if the green and the orange were simply side by side.

  • Funny,

    I just returned here too...

Luke, the edit and performance are sublime...

  • Beautiful words, sung with strength and great sensitivity.

    Lovely work.

    Thank you.

  • Captivating

  • Lukessummer,

If I had to have a favorite part combining song & visual, and I do not, it would be the space between 2:12 & 2:41.

  • Seán has a power that is awesome, yet so subdued. You have added another facet with your loving edit. Peace شالوم Shalom.שלום Frieden OneLove 平和 paix paz rk
  • This is an amazing song!

  • "Five Stars!"

  • Nice job again Lee. I have not heard this song before. Great song and great images.

  • With all the fighting and pain and suffering there is in the world, there's none worse than when brother fights brother.

    Powerful vid, my friend.

  • It's great to hear such an uplifting song.

I was just watching a tribute to the film maker David Hammond the other night and this song would be a fitting tribute to him and his philosophy.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • David Hammond was a fantastic ambassador for Irish culture. I believe he taught a young "Van Morrison" a love for Irish Traditional music when he was an English Teacher in his early years...Amazing!

  • Gorgeous images, a great song, and wonderful sentiments to start 2009. Really enjoyed that one...five stars!
