i think that is pretty much the same in any kind of country all over this planet: whatever coppers do, how much unnecessary force they may apply, how much bullets that shoot on people who allegedly stole a bucket of ice-cream or alike or whomever they jointly beat up whenever feeling to so: in the end, they are always cleared of any charge because all that was merely self-defence. only that doing the equivalent to them leading to decades of imprisonment, and mankind names it: justice !

Many of these police officers are professional liars. They have great amounts of experience lying in front of Judges in court and the Judges never call them on it so they get very confident about their ability to lie and get away with it. Conclusion: anytime a citizens version differs from an officers version, the officer is most likely the one lying.

@klard LOL I don't deny the cops have lied, even under oath. However, in my experience 99% of the people who lie in court are, lawyers and their clients. Time and again, I have sat in court and watched plaintiffs (civil) or defendants (if criminal) lie their heads off under oath, only to be perjured by videotape. Conclusion: You are quite wrong over 99% of my real life courtroom experience (100 of cases).

In the states, they will violate your rights, then beat you for standing up for yourself and then claim you did something you didn't do. He is not just a homeless person...he is also mentally ill and the Fresno PD are familiar with him. They know he has a past of becoming physically aggressive so they should have been prepared. Punching a person numerous times in the face because he does not realize what he is doing and has no control over his actions is not the course of restraint these officers should have used.
