The reason the buzzing can be heard is reflected power going back to the magnetron tube and transformer in the microwave. Try microwaving ice made from distilled water- it will not heat. If it does heat, it is because of surface water being heated, or metals in the water, but ice itself will not absorb mw energy. Water will heat in microwave, but ice will not. Try it some time. Make sure your air temp is below freezing.

No, its a stream or concentration of electrons moving from one location to another, generating light. Lightning can MAKE plasma. They are not the same thing.

actually lightning IS plasma, why? because plasma occurs when atoms separate and ionize kind of like metal's "sea of electrons" but much more energetic. lightning travels both up and down so there is an exchange of energy so there must have been a separation of positive and negative charges meaning PLASMA
