Damn Consumer Reports which gave this phone a 72/100! I just bought one and it was not working after 1 hour. Please email me if you figured out the issue as I will be returning this phone tomorrow for another one or for the HTC.
I think I have the issue figured out but its not really fixable without being rooted, having knowledge of how to adjust a few things in a already made kernel.
Pretty much what I think is happening is when the phone goes into the lower frequencies to help conserve battery life I think the voltage settings for the CPU are too low at the 100-400mhz settings causing it to not wake back up because of the lack of power and the lack of something in Android telling the screen to kick back on
The only way to fix it if it is a voltage issue with the lower frequencies is to have a custom kernel made with the ability to over volt the CPU at different settings. I am running a different kernel now and once I get some time to sit down and figure out how to go about getting at the settings for the CPU voltage I will try that and see if its what it actually is.
Either defective batt or screen have you tried a diff batt?
