I lived in San Francisco from 1985 to 1989. Loved it there. Now I live across the bay from it in the East Bay. I love this song. Today Tony Bennett sang this song in San Francisco in honor of its 50 year anniversary.

I got back from San Francisco yesterday. This was my first trip. My daughter accompanied me. We stayed at the Fairmont. We walked all over the city and saw most of the famous sights. It was a wonderful trip that I will always remember. "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" perfectly captures how I feel. What a beautiful song. My only suggestion for travelers: take good walking shoes. The hills of San Francisco will challenge you!!!

We stayed at the Francis Drake , and even though where from Sydney Australia we felt very much at home , loved it .great friendly people , we will be back.
