It could help, but its really all about what works for you. I would just use a length your comfortable with, its hard to go really short, but overall I don't think it makes much of a difference.

It took me about two weeks, of some good practice.

Awesome! Your videos have gotten soo much better! LOVED the intro. So good. Your style has gotten way, way better, running smoother. You skills have gotten way gnarlier too. Nice minicolumns, mine still suck. You're going to right way to have some good performances if all this stuff is solid.

The point of the audition isn't to put forward a bunch of diabolo stuff thats new and creative, thats what a video is for, the point of an audition is to show skill, personality, and versatility. And yeah I did look like a penguin, those were lacrosse balls, which have a bounce return ratio of like 50% so I had to move side to side in order to reach down to grab them.
