  • mexico holds the record now Baluarte Bridge 404 meters

  • WTF is going on at 1:04 ???

  • @geonerd Only the lower part of the pylons were build on place. The deck and the upper part of the pylons were build on the mountain next to the bridge and then pushed (from right to left in the photo) onto the lower pylons. So what you see here is the deck not yet fully in place.

  • I would love to see a bridge like that curved, so I can take a look at the superelevation equations for it.

  • the old road looks fun crazy brigde

  • Too bad you didn't have any video. Then you could post it to a video site such as YouTube.

  • The funny thing is this engineering feat cost about half of 1 B-2 stealth bomber.

  • the whole time i was on that bride, IF i ever went on it i would be like " I don't wanna do this, I don't wanna do this!" Probably need a change of pants 3 or 4 times before the end.

  • I'm proud to say, ive driven over that!

  • get the fuck outtuh here !

  • I'VE BEEN THERE!

  • As France builds the highest bridge and China build the largest open sea bridge, and Thailand has the longest bridge the US cries...

  • @HeadSHOT604

Not that bridges are any measure of a country's value, but we do have the Royal Gorge Bridge, and the new Hoover Dam bypass bridge.

Feel free to google them, and learn.

  • I love this bridge.

  • Good job France! Haha

  • Is this the way to heaven ?

  • @carlos162400

Well, it may become the way to heaven... if you jump from it !!

  • There is no amount of money that would make me work on a bridge that high up. I don't even care if Megan Fox herself offered me multiple lays and $1,000,000,000 cash. Fuck. That. (P.S. Not a fan of Fox.)

  • theres a 0% chance iam going there and there is a -4723% chance iam going there when its snowy

  • @Ice1200000 ^^But you know, when you are on it, you don't really see the landscape and the void. This is very protected. I think this is more inpressing when you see the bridge (when you'r not on it) ;)

  • Very Beautiful. It is an inspiration to be an Engineer

  • The highest bridge measured by its piers ONLY.

  • i would piss my pants if i go on that bridge

  • Terrorists would have a blast with that.

  • id fuck someone on that bridge and be like

"yeah im part of the mile high club. didnt even need a plane"

  • YOU MIGHT AS WELL SMOKE SOME WEED IF YOU WANT TO GET THAT HIGH!!!!

  • Siduhe River Bridge

    四渡河特大桥

    World's Highest Bridge 1,550 feet

    472 meters

  • wow!

  • I'd be like fuck this I'm walking. lol

  • so now people can be sure they will die if they jump...thats just great

  • I salute the architect who designed this

  • It's above the clouds!?! Holy fudge bricks!

  • seems like france cant build a road with a hill on it cause of there underpowered vehicles!

  • Why make it soo high?

  • *Husband pushes wife off bridge* "If I survive this Imma kick you in the nuts.... The nuts... The nuts... *smash*

  • the crane become very high!how much time to climb?

  • This can't have possibly been more cost effective than just building on the hills. Someone, somewhere just said "F*ck it, we'll build a bridge over the WHOLE DAMN VALLEY!

  • why make it so tall?

  • @drewkuch world record i guess

  • motherfucker o.O

  • Gandhi setu in india is highest bridge in the world

  • this isnot the tallest-----The Si Du River Bridge in China is the tallest

  • Very impressive

  • @TheRandomGrape it looks like that because they built the bridge first and then slid it across the supports and into it's place

  • AMAZING!

  • @ 1:06 Fail

  • holy fuck 2:01 it's amazing :O

  • holy shit..

  • I have always thought this is the most beautiful bridge in the world. Some bridges seem to float on water. This one floats on clouds.

  • hope you knocked on wood when you said you dont have earthquakes there , natural disasters are everywhere

  • its the bridge to heaven O: ISN'T IT !?!?!?! >:o

  • Honey look over there ......Keep your eyes on the fucking road

  • I get chill bumps just looking at it....

  • its in Millau France

  • there r brs higher than this constr by indian engineers abov 18000 ft..

  • @holynsonnda Yep,because of a high hill or mountain.

  • @VideoGameMaster007 its coz the area is abov 15000ft......though fledgd by valleys..streches abt 300s f kms....

  • @holynsonnda oh

  • imagine some big truck now crashing on that bridge and falling off it

  • STEPHEN CARL MURPHY CO.

  • Yet another masterpiece of architecture in France :)

  • why is there even need for a bridge that high? lol

  • @katiiiemariiie the bridge is used to connect to citys, both citys are high up in the moutains.

  • @LoGiKzZHD

The Bridge is used to pass the valley below because there was too much traffic in the city of Millau. People had to leave the A75, go all the way through Millau to reach the other side. That's why they made the bridge to make a smoother traffic to the mid. Sea.

  • @katiiiemariiie They made the bridge this high becuase of the terrain

  • Publicity Stunt bro.

  • It is not World's highest bridge. The highest bridge is in Jammu, India which is about 359 meters above the ground over the river Chenab and that is a railway bridge

  • @coolboy32ful - i think u may be correct . i saw the India one and that mofo is high. but then they always make big buildings in India.

  • MILLAU VIADUCT!

  • I've driven over that bridge, it is just like driving on a normal highway because you can't see down.

  • It looks higher than the New River Gorge Bridge, in West Virginia.

  • now i know why francis hates bridges on left 4 dead

  • wow! great bridge ever seen! i love to see this bridge very much! (5yrs)

  • Golden Gate bridge still trumps this in my eyes.

  • @chreveir

    "Location: United States"

    Clearly no bias here.

  • this bridge england goes to france ?

  • Great Video and brighe like and faved!

  • wow how the hell u get up y there?

  • HOLLY SH*T !

  • love it...

  • I remember seeing this in Guiness Book of World Records and I was like... WHOA! xD so cool...

  • hahah bylem tam

  • No wonder Europe is broke!

  • @madtoytle Europe is not broke, USA is.

  • @EldiraWoW we are all broke due to central banking...

  • What is the point of buidling a bridge that high? Wouldn't it have been easier to build a road from one side to the other? Only make it so the road goes up and down each side of the valley. There's no way I'd drive across it because it looks too flimbsy and fraile (look at time frame 1:36)

  • @myron73 because it's an highway, not just a countryside road.

and the bridge is in steel, and the steel is elastic, so it make waves between pillars. don't worry it's normal

  • @myron73 That was a dumb question.

  • Is this bridge to give their army a faster escape route?? Just kidding, don't go crazy with the e-mails.

  • I don't know if I could ever cross that bridge. I don't like heights.

  • this bridge is amazing we have one at 400 feet in toledo ohio very nice bridge but this top's the cake =).

  • @SaberTanker22 There is a footbridge in Colorado that is 1263 feet above the river

  • Comment removed

  • i remeber seeing something on tv bout this bridge.

  • marvel of engineering!

  • MAN IS AWESOME

  • Beautiful.

I wonder what the economic impact has been? Has there been growth from the new roadway?

  • qoldentony111 --> Another english retard.

  • Q. Who won the first tour de france?

    A. Hitler

  • More likely the Romans

  • loswaldo666 --> Napoleon has walked so much times in Berlin in 19th century. Hitler wanted his revenge.

  • Thank you!

  • Remarkable. I want to drive across it someday when it's cloudy then when it isn't.

  • astonishing thx 4 sharin

    viva La France

  • That kind of project would never get done in Canada! They would screw around forever and never do shit! Dumb asses! Great bridge viva La France!

  • A British Architect. Says it all.

  • Another english retard.

  • Look up the facts boy. British Architect. We worked together on this. For France.

  • Engineered by Michel Virlogeux ( France ) and designed by Norman Foster ( GB ). Built by Eiffage ( French company --> Eiffel Tower ). I like the "says it all", it's funny. The concorde was a great partnership between France and GB. Actually GB prefers to suck balls of USA, it's a shame...

  • Areva ( french nuclear company, 1rst in the world ) will build all nuclear plants in GB. The contract is signed. And if you make a little effort with your rails ( hard work ), we'll can sell you few TGV, you'll enjoy the comfort of an high speed train...lol

Made in France. Says it all ( I'm ironic, of course ). Good night England.

  • I'll address you later, French Frog.

  • now this is what the fuck im talking about driving above the motherfucking clouds hell yea

  • ahh, the power of understatement...

  • lol its above the clouds

  • Just wondering... why did they have to make it so high? was it really neccesary??? I wuld like to know the reason why this bridge is so high lol I don' t know nothing

  • @Haulero The valley that the bridge crosses over is quite deep, flanked on both sides by hills. Rather than have the highway snake down the sides of the valley and back up, the engineers decided to take the highway directly across the valley for a more streamlined approach.

  • what happens when it cloudy? do people crash? very nice bridge though.

  • Fog Lights

  • @tubester4567 cloudy? clouds are under this bridge.

  • Tubester4567, the road bed of the bridge is actually ABOVE the clouds. People can walk or drive along the bridge and look down at the clouds in the valley.

  • @tubester4567 its just as if it was foggy, its difficult to drive but not nearly impossible

  • woua!!! c'est trop beau!!!

c'est le plus grand viaduc du monde je crois?!

  • A dream of bridge !

    Engineer : Michel Virlogeux

    Architect : Norman Foster

  • omg thats a tall bridge the golden gate dont got nothing on that

  • driving above couds would be so cool

  • 1:00 thats an incredible sight.

  • Hmmmm i was thinking that the highets bridge was in greece

  • i keep refreashing and it would not play :-(

  • Forth Road Bridge

  • I'd hate to be on that bridge during an earthquake!

  • @Eschatus2 ...and just how many earthquakes do we have in France???

  • @andeegreen - West, south and east France get quakes all the time:

RECENT EARTHQUAKE: 4.0 Earthquake – FRANCE

    LOCATION: 46.40N 0.47E

Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 16:34:19 (UTC) - Coordinated Universal Time

SEE: Google - "USGS France Earthquakes"

  • @Eschatus2

I'd hate to be on that bridge EVER!! =)

  • @rinkumtinkum

i was on it and its not so hard as u think ;)

coz of the wall you can actually see nothing so you dont know how hig you are ;)

  • @Eschatus2

They don't have earthquakes in that part of the world

  • @Eschatus2 We don't have earthquakes in Europe xD or at least not in northern europe. When I was little, there was a small tremor in southern France/meditarrean sea.

  • Makes the song London bridges falling down pale in comparison eh? ^_~

  • @Eschatus2 + cunami XD :)

  • It's the size of 10 of the eiffel tower.

  • 10 of the Eiffel Tower? Er no....that would be a bit too big.

The Eiffel Tower is 300 metres (not including the antenna on the top). The Millau Viaduct is 343 metres

  • last picture is fucking amazing

  • I saw the documentary. When the two pieces came together they were just one mm out of place. Amazing!

  • You can put the Eiffel tower below the road deck ;-) that's over 300 meters.

  • how high is it anyway

  • the world is a small place after all....

  • amazing

  • w0w

  • WOW!
