Have you tried playing back the videos on your computer? There won't be any sound when you playback on the camera because the camera doesn't have any speaker. The sounds should still play when you use your computer though.

You need to convert the video files from *.mov to something windows movie maker can use like *.avi or *.wmv. Search google for mov to wmv convertor.

Yea, as you said we cannot expect too much from a cheap camera like this but I think it does it's job pretty well.

Infact the audio recording is pretty good. I filmed a concert with it near the boxes with very loud sound and it recored it well. I posted the video as a Video Response :)

Heya, nice video! Good music from the concert. I actually disagree that the audio is good quality. It lacks depth and clarity within the higher frequencies. Have a listen to the audio recorded by some canon cameras. Then again, perhaps I am expecting too much from a cheap camera. Thanks for the response!

No lo he utilizado con conciertos pero la grabación de sonidos en esta cámara es muy mala. He utilizado la cámara para hacer las producciones video y el sonido registrado por separado con un minidisco. Si usted busca para SugarchilliTV en youtube usted puede encontrar un ejemplo de mi vídeo. Cualquier persona aquí intentó esta cámara en los conciertos? Apesadumbrado si mi respuesta no tiene sentido porque no hablo español.

i have a question , i have this camera i have read the manuel etc ...took some vids at the dance nation ...moved them to my laptop and it wonts play them on there ...can hear the sound but no vids :( how do i sort this out can you help ??

Use another Player...for example the VLC Player (freeware).

The videos from the ls80 are Quicktime movies and not all players can work with them.

I think it might have something to do with the memory card you're using. The manual might mention something about how you have to use fast memory cards or something like that. I currently use a 4GB SDHC card and have recorded up to about 20mins before. Hope it helps.

a great camera to mount on my mountain bike if it hadnt been for the movie format, which I absolutely HATE (.mov) which you cant edit and play around with without proper editing software. why do manufacturers even bother with this .mov nonsense? why dont they all go .avi?

The camera doesn't have a speaker. To hear sound you must watch it on a computer or connect it to a TV. The recorded sound quality isn't very good either. The picture quality is great though.

Does this LS80 have speaker? When you on your camera watch recording movie do you hear voice/sound? Or you must watch your recording movie on computer to hear the voice?
