  • It's more like rubber. Either way, good job! :D

  • This is awesome! great job! :D

  • @thefreakenBEAST Hey, thanks :)

  • wow. very good. much impressed

  • Well, I have to say, the one that was supposed to be rubbery was and the silky one was silky, so good job!

  • good work but to me it dosent look quite like a cloth it looks more like a thin rubber just how it bounces back after it falls

  • alot of the soft bodies ive seen have been a bt rubbery

  • it looks like gummy

  • like jelly haha xD

  • looks more like jelly

  • how do u record ur renders

  • He more than likely assembled the frames into an AVI file one by one as they render. Blender makes the file for you after you set the animation output options.

You have my apologies if this doesn't make much sense.

  • dude u can just export it

  • Export? You mean to yafaray and other external renderers?

  • no you can export it inside blender. nothing downloaded.

  • I'm slightly confused on what you mean by "export". Wouldn't it be something other than "export"? I mean It's not really leaving blender.

  • actually, it is leaving blender. your exporting the animation to a video file, so it can be played as a movie without manually putting the frames together. you just tell blender the settings you would like it to export as, click export, and there you have it. a video.

  • Oh so thats what you meant. But that's basically what I said earlier in different words.

  • the silky satin still looks rubbery, but i like the rubbery one...

  • its probably the thickness?

  • You're probably right. The two animations use exactly the same "cloth" with slightly different settings. No change to the material so they look the same.

  • looks like rubber but nice

  • that's kinda why it said rubbery..

  • oh sense it kinna looked like skin i didnt pay attention to what it said but how freaky it looked lol but nice job

  • It was nice:)

  • PLS tell me the setting u used at self collision!!!

  • oh, i'm sorry. i can't recall. it's gonna be much easier in the upcoming version of blender, anyway. not long to wait.

  • ok bet it took a while this is awsome.

could you pm me some tips please because i cant get it right and it just goes dodgey. :)

  • where did you get tutorials for this?

    its exellent 5/5 :)

  • I didn't use a tutorial. I used trial and error.

  • hey, why is everyone arguing about IQ? you should be appreciating this person's work,

    amazing animation, =]

  • Why are people arguing about IQ and age? That has nothing to do with this video. What are the softbody settings for Silky? Great video!

  • Well said, tarkata14. I can't remember the settings. But I can duplicate them. Or look for my old blend file. Or something. :D

  • Women worst in math and science? I'm a guy and in the university near us, the ones who kicking butt in maths and science are women, not guys. Most are into electronics, forensic science and Quantumn Physics. So, I don't believe that.

  • awsome!!!

  • it was good, but it acted more like latex

  • nice

  • This is a good example of how well the soft bodies in Blender can pull off faking cloth. There is real cloth simulation coming soon which will give faster/better results, but still, this is pretty damn good.

  • Removed and blocked. And I'm 36 with an IQ of 134. And I use much more than Blender.

  • you're kewl ^^

  • actually... it doesn't mean you're that super smart, all the IQs has their + and - mine is 100 so what, it says it's total middle and it has it's +

  • You are quite right. I have a high IQ but I'm quite capable of making very dumb decisions. But I didn't bring IQ into the equation. Someone else did. Same with age.

  • as a 15 y.o. with iq of 130. i can assure everyone that iq is very very unilateral towards math/history/memory and not to english. this is why women usually have 4 pts less than men. they are better at english and worse with math/science.

  • IQ is logic, not your raw knowledge. Logic certainly rules. As for sh3l1, it is not smart to judge an entire race being the same in knowledge. Men and Women have an equal chance to learn all they can, but there are no advantages on either side.

  • actually, males are naturally better at visualizing (only form though, not color), which gives them

a slight advantage in maths (basically, you could say our brains are doing maths by counting apples O_O). But you can't really say only because of that that males are better in maths than females, just that they have a tendency to be better. Besides, IQ doesn't really mean anything, because there is no really accurate way to measure it...

  • you racist basterd even though its based on facts that doesnt make niggers white...

  • I tried torrents and theres lots of copies. I was just messing around in 3DS Max and I still like Blender better. Much easier to use, plus it has fluids without needing plugins. Once I get FumeFX, realflow, and Afterburn when I get my Demonoid account, I will use 3DS more though.

  • But 3DS is not free... And it's very big!!! With 10MB of Blender you can have for free:

    1. 3D modeller/animator

    2. Physics support

    3. Game Engine

    4. Post Processing tool

    5. Image/Video Editor

  • Well there isnt a copy of 3DS Max on LimeWire.

  • wtf

  • wel duh... try torrents

  • Why use Blender? Because it's free. Because it's my hobby. Because I love the way it works? Are you going to give me a free copy of 3DS Max? :D

  • when the silk hits the wood it looks like it turns into goo lol. but nice work! i dont even know how to use blender!

  • REALLY COOL 5 STARS

  • With this Blender program how do you make water and all that jazz?

  • What were your settings for the soft body? I'm trying to get that kind of crisp natural feel, like you just made. Thanks a lot for your response.

  • The softbody settings are in the physics command windows. To get there look for a little button on the bottom window where there are three black arrows. Then click on a button to the right where there are a yellow and red block destroying. YOu will find there the enable softbodies button.

  • @dodgydavec

Whoa how much under half and hour? in 3ds max for me this would take about 5 minutes and a only have 1gb ram! But good work, i like the tablet ;)

  • I assume 3DSmax has a proper cloth modifier. This is not a cloth modifer. It's soft body. I've never used 3DSmax. How much under half an hour? Can't remember ;)

  • Yes it would probobly work with soft body on 3ds max too, and with cloth modifier for me i said about 5 minutes ;)

  • yeh, 3DS has water, cloth and hair tools... do you have any tutorial links for blender? please PM me some

  • nice

  • i love seeing soft body cloth-high res. how much of a toll did that take on your computer? i have a 256 meg ram and pentium 4 processor :( and it can't handle anymore than a few subdivides.

  • It wasn't all that bad. It baked in less than half an hour. And if you just played it with alt-a, each frame displayed within a second. My setup has 1.5gig ram and an athlon 64 3500+ processor on windows XP.

  • Looks pretty cool! :D Make a character of you own and give them a cape. :D

  • LOOOOOOOOL!

  • Wat are you laughing about?
