Everyone i live not to far from here and i hunt private land im just thirteen but im just as good as some old guys at it and i have enough common sense to say a duck is a duck drake or hen we do the same thing when we have a group of ducks come in we shot every single one of them everytime we shoot anyykind of duck that comes into so dont hate because you cant kill ducks like we do.
Boy, you guys played hell on the greys last year....Good job. For the naysayers out there.....There are not too many hens, about 80% of the ducks they killed were Gadwalls, and there were some hens, but sheesh, give the guy a break. Public hunting is a take it or leave it proposition, very rarely can you just pick drakes, especially in La.
Some of you guys have to shoot all greenheads, but just like to kill ducks like these guys. If i waited on drakes I would only kill a couple ducks a day until late season.
do you realize when you kill a hen it kills a lot more than just one duck. Im 17 and I have more common sense than that. If you get a couple ducks every time thats plenty, you dont need to go shoot a hen to just add to your numbers. The best part is watching the birds work anyway.

I agree picking out the drake when neccessary, but with experiece hunting gadwalls, i've learned it can be difficult to tell drakes from hens
