Great stuff and yeah, the CD quality isn't great either on Prebuild. So gutted I lent my vinyl Newbuild to a girl 20 odd years ago, never to be seen again. If you read this Kerry can I have it back!? Anyway, sounds like Gerald took the opening drumbeat straight into Voodoo Ray.
@powersherlock , my top five changes almost every week , but at some time or other i would have it in a few of these tunes Phuture "We are future", Annette "dream 17" , A guy called Gerald "voodoo ray" , hard floor " trancescript" bam bam " where's your child" , garden of Eden " garden of eden" Caucasian boy "northern lights" Laurent x " machines" Ten city " that's the way love is ( acieeed mix)" LA " LA's music" Tyree "acid over" ( house sound of Chicago vol iii mix) the list goes on...
this is incredible - the slightly mashed up audio brings out the atmosphere - I wish I'd known a lot more about these more obscure 808 state releases when I was a kid, this is one of those pure mind-expanding experiences on 12" - not very well known down my neck of the woods unless you're nearly 40 but top quality :)

@Elmware this is how its supposed to sound. if you think this is bad , you should hear some of the other tracks off the LP which sound as if they are pressed from a cassette which has had the taped chewed up by Geralds dog. No exaggeration.
Post-industrial manchester has so much to answer for. Why are all Thames Valley management types mufc fans? This kickback makes perfect sense to me. You'd never hear it coming out of Audi TTs.
I got into dance parties back in 92, Damn the memories are enough to make one want to cry . It was pure madness all day everyday .

I'm feeling it, though it's sour in places. Bass at 9:40 knocks the shit out of me. Must have been brilliant live
