  • that thing will sustain forever.....until that battery runs out you mean

  • 7000 euros...that's even more....

  • Before you watch this video, THIS GUITAR COSTS 7,000$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really wanted one till I looked up how much it cost. I could buy every guitar this one simulates and have more bragging rights and get the real tones instead of the impersonators.

  • so...what you're saying is, i can beat someone to a pulp with this guitar and this guitar wont break and stay in tune?....awesome.

  • too many features in one guitar! ... being MIDI ready is cool.. how about MIDI IN too to switch between settings? :P ..

  • give me schecter loomis please...my brains got tangled up...O_o

  • I agree with itzed, it's way too complicated. Gimme a Strat or a Les Paul.

  • it seems like a very good guitar with many features ...i think the only thing that his holding this guitar back is the appearance...a gibson sg or les paul (for example) with this exact features would be an A LOT better selling guitar!!! and a lot more expensive because you pay the name GIBSON too!!

  • Uh... at first sight very close principle to the Moog guitar...

  • 9:05 Comes back in tune everytime *cough*

  • stop talking dude i wanna see adrian playing

  • Way too complicated.

  • Adrian would make a good Larry Fine in the 3 Stooges remake. Now we just need a Moe & Curly.

  • 3:44

Contains the sound in the line6 variax......(5 minutes later).....

    3:51

    The variax....

    WTF! random pausage

  • I would think a more reasonable price would be something like in the $1000-2000 range. I was able to play one of these things and they ARE amazing, but that is way too pricey I think.

  • how does this compare to the moog?

  • @d2843 the variax type of modeling and I guess the sustain mode in the moog uses another method and i guess you can activate it with a expresion pedal. i guess. maybe im wrong. both babies are just...insane.

  • Wow with the oncoming depression coming on in the US , who can afford a 10,000 dollar guitar !

  • I read this like "swee twater"

  • does it come with the flux capacitor?

  • Thanks for adding. Nifty Groovy- just like Mr. Belew.

  • ken parker its a genius, usm group its a destroyer, if i want a variax i buy a variax the parker fly its beautiful, parker fly dont need variax o sustiniac or another stupid thing

  • foreverrrrrrr?

  • he's the willy wonka of guitar!

  • Why doesn't my Fly Deluxe stay in tune when I use the whammy bar? Did they do anything different for this model?

  • i want that in a 7-string version!!!

  • My friend next time put a hat or Sombrero on.

  • oh and adrian belew = guitar jesus

  • Incredible.... but seriously... is it necessary... its just a bit toooo much to me.

  • @MrSaxguy3

necessary? is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? probably not, but it's sterile and i like the taste

  • No thanks, I'd rather spend 9,000 on a small house or a car.

  • sure, sure.. super high-tech guitar with some great features.. but it's SO expensive, and... it's ... well... dorky as hell, and you really look like a douchebag when you play it

  • LOL... "thank you so much for buying it". I wonder how much commission he gets for each sale. I want one. Parker Fly guitar are amazing.

  • cool guitar but $8999.00 fuck that

  • I have the Line 6 for my MAC and recording....It is fun but it's a toy. I would NEVER give up my 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom or my 67 Fender Strat for this....Sound, yes....real thing NO! I love the acoustic sound on the Fly but I'll save 9K and not buy this!

  • Adrian you need hair !

  • The ONE thing swaying me from this to it's only contemporary (IMO)-the Jim Tyler Variax-is the instant alternate tuning knob that's on board the latter. If the Parker had that (or could have it retrofitted), it would win hands down.

  • dude needs to get off the speed and the meth.

  • He never told us to let go of the knob!

  • @fryBASS hahahahahahahaha

  • THIS GUY IS MICHAEL ANGELO BATIO WITH A BIG BALD SPOT!

  • @rambache This guy is Michael Angelo Batio without the toupee :D

  • Awesome ideas, awesome instrument. $9000, ugh.

  • what's midi ha ha . I'm just a guitar player man . I dunno

  • I really like it...and I have a normal Nitefly but the price is outrageous...and why is Adrian, arguably a very influential guitarist calling the "Pee-eh-zo" a "Pie-Zo"? Good grief!

  • not a big fan of parker or line 6 but I gotta admit that the technology in this guitar is fantastic... great features indeed... I bet it must cost a ton...

  • expensive, but incredible!!

  • Expensive guitar, but completely cool.

  • Talk about over complicating things!

  • fripp and belew, freakest musicians ever. And they are in the same band,WTF???

  • ok this thing does a few more things than i thought haha, but either way. how many times do you think you are going to do a dobro/sitar/banjo/12-string/lapsteel/harpsichord solo?

  • $9,000 for this thing. wtf!?! its a parker fly with a fernandez sustainer clone. that pickup kit costs $200 on ebay, and it sounds just like this. don't be a sucker. for that much money you could build an entire rig that sounds ridiculous and still have money left over

  • Major gearhead here, suffering from as much G.A.S. as the next guy, but I can say in all honesty, I do not want this guitar:S

  • WOW.....all those tones and features!!!!!

Its awesome beyond a doubt but I'll have to donate my body to science or sell some of my organs to be able to afford it.

  • nice guitar ...nothing "beats" a tortured strat though lol

  • this guitar needs Version 2 without (those 25 other sounds... sitar! mendolin!! ) and less midi

  • Sustainiac = Gibson guitar style guitars.

  • sweetwater has them for $9600! Go get yours now!!!

  • lol, or in 15 years.

  • amazing ! ...yet somehow i miss the sounds that Adrian used to pull out of his

old worn-out strat, when he played with the

talking heads and the 1981 king crimson...

  • 7.ooo euro..............

  • Why do any of you people find it so necessary to be so foul mouthed? Is your command of the English language so poor that you can't string 2 or 3 coherent sentences together to make your point without swearing? You sad, ignorant people!!!

  • O.k. I've never heard this guy,I'm pretty sure he's good axeman,but freaking $10,000 from a person I've never heard.I'd rather buy Vernon Reid Sig. for $6,000.

I've got Nitefly SA strings do stay in tune all the time I used the tremolo.

  • Never heard of Adrian Belew? Look up Knig Crimson post 70s era Also he worked with Talking Heads Bowie and Frank Zappa.

  • No,bro, but I've heard of TH,Bowie and Frank. I'm more into the 80's and mid 90's metal axemen, thus Vernon Reid.

    Sorry..

  • @docman777

I'd say NIN and 90's King Crimson are pretty metal, Thats just me though...

  • They are both definitely not metal, NIN is electronic and King Crimson doesn't get that heavy. If you have seen either live you'd know the difference.

  • @meginis8

    have you not heard THRAK?

  • @meginis8 You've never seen NIN live, have you?

  • @docman777 Look up Adrian Belew Electronic Guitar (six parts).

  • Well its all subjective, but from many standpoints in my opinion Adrian Belew is way more sophisticated, innovative, and musical than Vernon Reid--and he has better technique.

  • I wonder how much it would cost to get the Variac system built into your guitar

  • Line 6 don't sell sound units separately so you would have to buy a donor guitar. The 300 would seem a cheap solution but the controls are PCB mounted so won't match up to the holes in your existing guitar and most cheap conversions involve removing the magnetic pickups anyway. It's probably cheaper to buy a used 500/600, a Mighty Mite replacement neck and don't worry magnetic P/Us. The Variax solid body guitar sounds are better than any mid-priced guitar plus you get a few other useful sounds.

  • I'm still amazed how people stumble upon the PCB thing while it had already been talked about and resolved long time ago. You simply unsolder the pots, put some wiring between the pots and the PCB and have the board lying somewhere in the cavity with pots layout freely arrangable.

  • "The Variax solid body guitar sounds are better than any mid-priced guitar" ??!! that's bullshit no reasonable guitar player will ever buy!!! variax stuff is made for players with no real interest in sound. ANY mid priced guitar coupled with a mid price tube amp would sound better than whatever modeling shit existent. wich has a higher sound quality, mp3 or vinyl? same question here. the problem is the "mp3" is worth 10 times the "vinyl" in this case.

  • Kephalle Great. All you have to do is list the serial number of your Variax so we can be sure you actually know what you are talking about. And why do you feel the need to swear to make a point. You vacuous, moronic cunt.

  • did i insult you in the first place? get a life, you dipshit! one thing only: go to fuck youself pseudo guitar player. no need for the serial number, i played it! and if you experimented enough with REAL SOUND you would know how stupid you are, and so does what you say!! you could be 51, but you got a 12 y.o. mind...

  • One more thing, as far as prices are concerned, we all know that the American market is subsidised by everybody else as it is seen, by all manufacturers, as the volume market; their profit is made from outside the US! It would be nice to have a level playing field and have EVERYBODY paying the same.

In the rest of the world the Parker, like Gibson, and all other consumer durables, are grossly overpriced but that is the price we have to pay - I hope America appreciates how well off it is!!

  • If you're thinking about a guitar like this, look at the Moog E1. Great guitar, better sound than the Parker and less expensive.

As for the pronunciation of "piezo", have a look in the Oxford English Dictionary (the dictionary that is recognised as the "standard" for English usage) and you'll see it's pronounced "peet-zo", NOT pee-et-zo or pie-zo!!

We all know that America has a reputation for mangling the English language and this is no exception - sorry guys, unfortunate but true!!

  • I agree...The Moog Guitar seems a bit cooler.

  • Way over priced, fucking 10 grand!!! Its not worth it!

  • its pronounced pee-et-zo

  • If there was a bass version of the Adrian Belew Parker Fly, i'd totally buy it.

  • How much?!?!

  • Ade, get a new fucking haircut

  • Dude, you call something out for not having soul and then you crow about PRS?! Phfffft. Idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • Don't care for Parkers. Next time, if you want to reply to an opinion you don't agree with, try to do it without being so childish, ok?

  • Comment removed

  • Nice. Stop being childish? You first. What did you expect when you typed in Adrian Belew? He's a weird guitarist, he wanted a weird guitar. You old fart "blues dogs" are all the same. Please, tell us about your overpriced amp next. Or feel free to save it for TGP. And for the record, your precious PRS was made by laser cutters and robots from China in the good old US of A. Not that far removed from the Parker, truth be told. But hey, spend your money on whatever makes you happy.

  • I don't believe I started out calling anybody an idiot, so I'm not sure what you mean when you say "You first". I take it you play? What kind of guitar do you have? Just wondering.

  • Phfffft is pretty much the same thing as calling someone an idiot in my book, my dialect is just more direct. Seeing as you're asking, I have a Gibson Johnny A. Standard, an Eric Johnson Strat, a GE Smith Tele, and a 61 RI SG. I didn't actually set out to be the "signature series" guy, I just got incredibly lucky with the Musician's Friend/Guitar Center scratch and dents. Have a nice day.

  • Nice collection of guitars. No Parker Fly? Just out of curiousity, have you ever tried one? If not, give one a try if you get a chance. You just might agree with me. You have a nice day also.

  • I actually have played a Parker, not too shabby. Again, I put it in the same league as a PRS, it's a little too perfect, although the PRS guitars (I've had four of 'em) are a lot prettier.

  • Nice Guy!!

    unbelievable Guitar player and musician!!

    interesting guitar!

    Thanks :-)

  • The sustainiac feature looks interesting.

  • You know..this guitar is Beautiful...

  • parkers are ugly but sound and feel incredible

  • That's not an octave up mode dude. Like on an Ebow, it's a "Harmonic mode", I have no idea how it works, but it's not an octave up.

    Pie-zo... hahahaha.

  • He says thank you for buying it but wen am i gonna hav enough money for it i'll just settlr for a VG Strat for £1,500!

  • lol "pie-zo"

  • I don't get the lol, he's pronouncing it correctly in the video.

  • does it make cafe as well ????? you need a keyboard not a guitar

  • Very narrow minded statement. Who cares whether you control the sound with a fretboard or a keyboard; the point is to be creative, do something beautiful, and play an instrument that you love. Adrian is an inspiration to anyone wanting to express themselves in a way that is completely unique. And the Parker Fly is an amazing instrument.

  • this is like my dream guitar, parker flys are amazing, and i could never run out of new tones out of it.

    sweeeeeet.

  • I get it that this is an evolutionary guitar but... I'll just settle for some Jimi Hendrix strat action with a marshall. Hendrix already proved you can talk to the gods... what else do you need?

  • Hendrix took advantage of the most modern sound technologies of his time (in fact he helped new ones come about because of his constant quest for something new and different). Do you honestly think if he were alive today, he'd stick to a strat, a marshall, and the handful of pedals that were available back then? More likely, he'd still be seeking new sounds from the latest tech gurus.

  • I fully agree, I must have been tired when I made that post. Cuz looking back at it, I surely didn't mean to imply anything neg. I love Adrian and have seen him front row. He's a sick ass innovator. I LOVE him!!! I'm a tattoo artist too. Always striving for the best tools of the trade.. a stick and some soot can make a tattoo but, I wouldnt use it today. Cheers Greg!

  • I'm impressed that you can admit a mistake; that's rare on youtube vids. Maybe it shows Adrian attracts thoughtful fans. We're on the same page; Adrian and Hendrix are kindred spirits, and what Jimi did remains unsurpassed; I love his incredible sound paintings. He did prove you can do a lot with a little!

  • What an axe! Hopefully, some rich guys will buy a lot of them and bring the price down, LOL!!!

  • I'll do some praying with ya if you think it might work. :-) Not many of us musical types or any type for that matter have about $10,000.00 for a SINGLE guitar. Even though it seems like the ONLY guitar you might ever need again, but that's one heck of a price tag for the majority of us.

  • he is not making any music in this video

  • Adrian is possibly the greatest rock guitarist ever... His sig guitar is worth it! A brilliant creative device.

  • $10,000? ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Oh wow, this sells for $10,000?! I can make one myself, if this seriously sells for $10,000 I could make some fat cash lol

  • YES - it seriously does. If you CAN make a guitar that EXACTLY matches all the specs of a Parker Fly Adrian Belew Signature model, please contact me and let's discuss your pricing and what I would want the guitar to look like and other details, etc. Email me on here if you are serious.

  • I'm sure you could, and I could leap tall buildings in a single bound if I wanted to. I just don't want to.

  • I guess it doesn't come with a comb or a hat for 10K

  • Oh, a bald joke; how original and relevant.

  • bald joke?

  • Look at the comment "comb or a hat"-obviously referring to Adrian's hair loss.

  • I'll have three pls...

  • lol yeah at 3 grand and 10 grand every body should have one lol which one ya want ???

  • I want one.

  • Why all the hate? If you people are too close minded to accept styles of music aside from metal or classic rock or something, then just don't say anything. A big part of Adrian's sound is his chameleonic approach to guitar tone: the more options, the better. And just because it's more advanced than a plank of wood with some pickups doesn't make it a "piece of crap".

  • all that technology for only 10k$...what a true bargain!

  • Pretty cool tech, but man, what happened to simple tone?

  • Nothing, it's still there. It's just a broader pallette.

  • this is a perfect guitar for recording or playing songs with alot of acoustic and electric parts but sadly its a bit ugly

  • Eye of the beholder.

  • I went to the guitar clinic at Sweetwater to see Adrian Belew. What a SWEET place Sweetwater is! What a beautiful guitar---who wouldn't LOVE to have one of those! And Adrian Belew was (as always) in top form with his Power Trio. Well worth the 500 mile round trip! And someday I'd love to have a Parker Adrian Belew Signature Fly. (Doesn't hurt to dream, does it??) : )

  • i want one of these

  • It's one thing to size up an acoustic guitar or a banjo in a show room, but even at the big guitar centers I've found it difficult to get the TIME it takes to evaluate guitars like this. I wish there were another sales format that allowed a relaxed extended private experience. The same thing goes for some of the electronics....really takes an afternoon or a weekend sometimes! Sweetwater rules...You guys are the best. I can always send a friend to Sweetwater.
