I had treatment for Hep C 5 years ago I took the treatment for 11 months and did very well with the treatment. my viral load dropped to under 6 parts per million. I never had a biopsy because i did not have insurance and couldn't afford it. My thyroid has quit working now taking 150 mcg of levothyroxin. will my thyroid ever work again? this treatment is terrible, my friend was on it and got very sick. it does not work for everyone. it's all conventional medicine has to offer. I started giving my friend some natural herbal tea etc. She's feeling better now. I'm not saying it's a cure but I would encourage anyone to try some natural things first.

I tested positive for Hep C antibodies, so my dr ordered extensive bloodwork. about two weeks later he called me at work all excited and said i tested clear and was 'immune'. i couldnt talk much more as i was working, but i still have questions. does that mean i cleared it on my own? i would like to see him again but i lost my insurance and until i get new insurance i cant see him again. can anyone help me?

actually, if there weren't cientific proof of hep c and hiv, there wouldn't be ppl diagnosed with 'em. hiv and hep c virus are a reallity, and not every1 who is hep c positive has to be iv drug user. there are cases of neddle stick injury, and from tattoos.

Currently HCV (Hep C) isn't curable although some physicians will say that patients are cured after taking the treatment & the HCV levels are "undectable" in the blood, its just dormant, not "cured". Not everyone HCV (+) is a drug addict; Naomi Judd is HCV+ from a needle stick.

liver biopsy is Old School Medicine. cheaper less invasive procedures will garner the same info.

The new machines are not as accurate as Liver biopsy and have sometimes failed to give correct readings. In some cases they've even given a stage 2 a 4 (making the patient's liver seem much worse) which is a quite a difference.
