Way to go mike! I'm a large format newbie too! I use the speed graphic! Try a few exposures and after about 4-5 sheets everything just falls into place!
I have a Crown also that my Dad gave me last year. Used it to shoot some Fuji (Provia?) 100f recently. It's funny how I go round and round checking my settings, getting the film situated properly, etc., then the actual shot is just that little click ;-)

Now I'm kicking myself for not picking up a Crown Graphic when I had the chance. I hesitated on developing the film and missed out.
