  • anyone notice how much the ending sounds like claptons layla,,,

  • They definitely didn't get the whole song on this recording.

  • Brilliant!

  • yes madame fluffy....exquisite lyrics and sublime moments. last month while sun set over pacific ocean and stars arose over petaluma, listened to this song and album, sipping a glass of napa's finest and smiles with a one-time girlfriend of corey, the pianist.

it seems we have some similarity in tastes, le chat.

    merci.

    inJoy

  • Actually, this recording is starting about a quarter way into this piece. I know because I play this on piano ... it was one of my inspirations for working to play rock from classical pieces. I love Pablo Cruise! Still ...

  • lay down put your headphones on and enjoy this song!

  • This is a beautiful song...( I thought there was a nice , long , intense , piano intro to this song )

Anyway.....it's been a while since I've heard this wonderful piece.

    Thanks for posting it :)

  • They did another song with some great piano in it. Does anyone remember what it was?

  • @fancycat1954 Zero To Sixty In Five? They still tour and can still bring it.

  • I remember this when I was in high school from the bay area in San Francisco. . . I used to listen to it all the time. It was very relaxing to me for some reason. Great musicians.

  • One of my all-time favorite songs!! Saw them at my HS in '75-'76 time-frame... They were unplugged by the vice-principal for playing too long!!

  • brillant up there with stairway to heaven and layla

  • thats something you dont hear in music today. Acoustic piano.

  • I agree with you gremmiehodad, a masterpiece, every track is great, lovely album to put on the turntable and go to sleep on, music before the world went mad...

  • I SAW THE LATE (ROGER VOUDURIUOS OPEN FOR PABLO CRUISE AT UCD. ROGER WAS GOOD. RIP. YOUR FRIEN MARC

  • A Masterpiece from start to finish! Cory Lerios piano playing is simply brilliant! For that one should listen to the full version of this song! The first three minutes or so is missing here! I 'm sure because of the UTubes time 10 minute constraint! The song is over 12 minutes!

  • first two albums I ever bought were steely dan aja and pablo cruise a place in the sun. My sister took me to the big city to buy them. Chrystalship Records! Good times!

  • Cory Lerios is a wicked talent on the keyboards who never got the recognition he deserved. Pablo Cruise was my first concert. 1978 at the Napa (CA) County Fairgrounds.

    god what a great band.....

  • @shanek911

They were my first concert too, just a year or so earlier... (Boulder CO, Univ of Colorado, Macky Auditorium...'76 or '77). Fourth row, directly in front of the right side speaker stack...(or left side, if on the stage).

    Yeah....what a great band!

They gave us the full 12 minutes of "Ocean Breeze" that night.

I remember it only vaguely...and yet also in crystal clarity at the same time.

  • Pablo was on PBS in mid-70's on Sound Stage! The live version of Island Woman had a drum solo;2:30 of sweaty pulsating rhythm to make the dead sit up and take notice!Absolutely phenomenal!

  • " When asked what Pablo Cruise meant, the band would say that "Pablo represents an honest, real, down to earth individual; and Cruise depicts his fun loving and easy going attitude towards life." straight from wiki........... love these dudes !

  • He's the guy in the middle !

  • What happened to the first 3 minutes of this song???

  • @bodacia Youtube has a 10 minute time limit on videos dude.

  • @bodacia I am with you, they cut a great part out

  • I had the great fortune to see this band at the moment they had "just arrived," and were suddenly hot: Seats in the fourth row of a 2500 seat auditorium, with great acoustics, and right in front of a speaker stack about ten feet high.

It's the one time in my life I ever heard "Ocean Breeze" played live...and with great enthusiasm--and love--too.

Saw them live again many years later, and this was the one song they WOULDN'T play.

"Anything else," they said. "But not that."

    So get in early.

  • What a pleseant surprise this song (and video) was for me to come across :)

    Thank you.

  • I wanna ride those tutta bella waves:)

  • Bellissama bella:):)) Very powerful and heart felt!!! Cinque stelle***** Lo-amo!!! "Chin Chin" Chente Anni Salute Ciao:):):)***:):):)

  • This is a classic.

Sure with that the first 3 minutes of the song were uploaded.

    This song is 12+ minutes.

  • My reaction is similar to most of the others. I heard this a really long time ago and I especially liked the piano & instrumental parts the most.

Very nice to wander back in time and revisit and HEAR what it was I liked so much. Haven't heard it in ages. Thank you, YouTube. jdm

  • this was always my fav. had not heard it in decades and was so delighted to find it here. thank you so much for sharing it with us all.

  • oh

    my

    god

    Hello 1980

  • very good song!!!Pablo is a big!!

  • huge fan but I'm only 19

  • Age really doesn't matter.

  • True story: this was the music used during a show performed by a stripper in

Boston, Massachusetts, many years ago !! (good choice I think)

  • mid 80's, standing on Stinson Beach, singing this song to greet the sunrise. a friend was a ways away, writing on the sand.

a notice a jogger approaching, yet keep singing. he passes and smiles.

as he passes my friend...i realize it's the drummer.

lovely moments in the universe soetimes.

  • :D that was a great moment in time!

  • @irisodonata

yep, the lyrics are great. ;P

  • Saw them at Lake Alice in Gainesville,Fl in 1976. I was amazed then. Still an all time favorite.

  • Thisis the most amazing composition of all time. I saw them in 1977 when I was 18 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I listen to it when I'm having a good day or a bad day and it always does what it's supposed to. I love, love, love this song. I will always be a fan.

  • Oceanbreeze, I had to buy a second as I wore the first one out.

    All time favorite

  • Timeless!!!

  • Elwood 232 You are absouloutly correct!

  • Super Song!!!!!!

  • wow...I didn't know they were actually this good. However, in the 70's, is it just my opinion that most pianists had that Charlie Brown sound? I'm not dissing it,in fact, I think it sounds excellent. just...commenting.

  • Saw PC do this live in the Men's Gym at Cal Poly SLO around 1978 or so. An amazing performance that turned me into a lifetime fan.

  • one of the best unknown songs ever.. I LOVED THIS SO MUCH....... i still do.... a brilliant masterpiece.

  • @WhatHappendToThem I couldn't agree more about this GEM. Where did it come from ? Who sings and plays on it ? I have no idea. All I know is Pablo Cruise. These poor guys owe it all to bad management and a lousy record label. What else can it be ? I feel bad for them. If they had promotion done the right way, who knows what would have happened. Sad. Great song, in fact, it was used in the Combat Zone in Boston, Mass as a stripper's song. It's true !!

  • I agree wholeheartedly! haven't thought about this forever. I forgot how much I loved it. . . while in high school so, so many years ago!

  • One of the best songs of all time.

  • You are soooo right!!

  • Mike do you remember driving to Berkley in the mornings in the ole Maverick while

we listened to Oceanbreeze, seems like the first one I bought was 8-track.....

    1974 along time ago brother

  • Great Song! I was at an outdoor summer concert and this song came on while they were setting up stage for The Sons of Champlin at Stanford Frost Amphitheater. It just seemed like the right song for the activity taking place. That was a long time ago. It was a great time. nobum2, thank you for the memories.
