Is there a way to start recording a TAS while in the middle of a game WITHOUT it restarting? Is there a way to make it start recording at a specific savestate? Does it absolutely have to start the game over in order to make a movie?
i thought thats how TAS runs worked, damn looks like a lot of work. in regaurds to this game i actually played it so much that i was able to get to the 2nd to last lvl on hardest difficulty without getting touched. the new contra on psn i can rarley get to the 3rd stage without gettin hit, alot harder, but its pretty fun, if your'e a contra fan try it, i recomend getting it on xbox if you have a choice tho, sense psn has hacker issues at the moment.
and then not to mention, keep them all in sync. This is INCREADIBLY hard. Also, you have to figure out how the actual hardware works.
Note to non hardware level programmers, it's not "Draw Sprite".. you've used game maker? Nothing like this sort of low level emulation programming. It's unreadable to even normal programmers.
Then on top of this, they program the rerecording to the point where it patches everything back together.
We should thank them for TAS possibilities.. That's all.
People need to give credit to the programmers. For them to be able to sync the emulation and movie making like this is no easy task. It can be done (obviously)...
Well first of all, people don't realize how hard emulation is. I see people bitch about 'bad' emulation all the time. These days consoles (even hand helds) are complex enough that you have to emulate with your PC processor the processor, the graphics, the sound, the controls, wifi,
im still thinking about giving kirby canvas curse a shot, but im not too sure about how well the stylus works in frame advance, i havent tried the latest ver of desmume yet
convert your .sav file into a .duc file, then press record. Immediately after it starts recording, pause the emulator!! Import the .duc file and you would now record a movie with all the saves intact.
excuse my language, but I can not find contra for for shit, ive been searching for over 5 fucking years, i mean just what the hell.

How do you do this, starting the movie in the middle of the game instead of having to start over?
