  • can ppl please stop regurgitating information & try an alkaline (blood & starch free) diet.. until then.. ppl r just ignorant to the subject. HFCS contains mercury & is pure starch (as corn is also a STARCH based ARTIFICIAL grain) and the same goes for Sugar Cane. Both pure starch. replace these with raw agave and JUDGE FOR URSELF.. dont be a parrot & regurgitate what u have been told, read, hear, etc

  • @royalt227 Why are you freaked out about fructose? Fruits have contained fructose for millions of years, we've long evolved to handle it. ITS FINE.

  • @Stillwater900 ...there is a difference between refined sugars & natural sugars that are encased within the fabric of the fruit... HFCS is made by using caustic soda.. it contains MERCURY.. just google it.. its in the washington post even

  • HFCS is made with CAUSTIC SODA.. IT IS MERCURY RIDDEN! google WASHINGTON POST MERCURY IN HFCS !!

  • I only use it sparingly as it's expensive. Nearly all sweeteners contain a lot of calories except for artificial ones which are worse than sugar and Stevia which is illegal.

  • Hi, just wanted to mention that Agave is an allergen too. I suffer from Agave allergy. It's supposed to affect 1-2% of people. I never ever see it mentioned as an allergen anywhere though.

  • corn syrup is bad no matter whta you say. but we could use barley malt which is good for you

  • corn syrup is bad no matter whta you say

  • for it's health giving properties. But if you want to sweeten something just use stevia. Organic. perfect stevia. You can always use flavored stevia. That's the best thing out there. Or Birch Xylitol. Bam. Not a sugar and is a great alternative to sweeteners. I actually brush my teeth with birch xylitol. signing off, Feva

  • Re-write your video title please. The facts that you are giving are contradicting your video title. High fructose corn syrup. GMO, Mercury, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, Poorly grown. Non organic, just plain BAD BAD BAD. Agave can be found organic, can not be found raw. high fructose content, non gmo. Basically just sugar. So no, Agave is A LOT better than high fructose corn syrup. I'm just arguing that fact. But IMO we should stay away from all fructose sweetners. Honey sometimes.....

  • I ordered Now Foods Sucanat.I heard this is better.

  • Thanks for the information, Curtis. It was really concise how you described the health risks and I liked that you listed the sites with the studies you were referring to

  • canola oil is in alot of health foods and it is not healthy either. And i would rather still use Agave instead of corn syrup because of the GMOS. i dont use alot. but thanks for the info.

  • Where is your info from? Your research seems vague and unclear brother. I need clearer facts and a shorter video please.

  • @humansparkler My info is located in the video description.

  • @Thanks719 Gluten and dairy is POISON!!!..we are all miserable and sick because of it!! kids have ADD and autism from it, and the food industry just wants us to consume more and more!!, and most doctors just want us to live off of pharmaceutical drugs that cure nothing!!.Hemp milk is great!, and all natural fructose is way healthier!

  • @Thanks719 I hear you man, good luck with your diet.

  • talk faster!!! my goodness these pll talk so slowww i just want to get to the point!!!

  • HFCS is only slightly worse than sugar. So be careful with both. Fruit juice is very dangerous so do not drink it. Restrict whole fruit. Maybe one piece a week or stick with very low sugar fruits like blueberries, strawberries and raspberries

  • @canaan1967 That is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard about dieting. One whole fruit a week? Shit, a good diet would be one or two whole fruits a DAY. Not in an entire week...

  • Comment removed

  • Limit whole fruit as well. Natural fructose is not your friend. Just because it has cellulose and fiber doesn't make it that much healthier because it still gets converted into triglycerides in the liver. we have nevre had access to all this fruit in the grocery store 365 days a year in the history of the human race.

  • crystalized fructose is the WOST of all!!!!

  • Meh -- I think if you are just using 1/2 tsp in a cup of tea, it's fine... If you're chugging the stuff out of the bottle (which I doubt most people do) it's not good for you. But the nice thing about agave syrup is that 1/2 tsp can sweeten a large glass of iced tea, and it's only 10 calories. That's better than sugar and methinks it's healthier than aspertame or Splenda.

  • @SteveAlbinisPussy

It's worse than HFCS. 1/2 teaspoon is too much!

  • @canaan1967 You're right. After consuming 1/2 tsp of agave nectar, diluted in iced, green tea, it made me grow a cunt. It's dangerous stuff. Of course, fruit is a terrible thing to eat. I'm all over these vegan soy cunt chips. They're shaped like labia. I eat those and some bugs I find, for protein.

  • You rock! Thanks so much for the video, great information.

  • so what do you recommend as the healthiest natural sugar substitute, honey?

  • I was sold too, I went out and bought a few bottles but I guess I won't be using it anymore.

  • Not all agave uses an enzymatic process! I actually visited and witnessed the process... so I can provide in depth knowledge not only based on research but personal experience VIEWING the process!

It is not the same process as corn syrup.

  • @RawChocolateGirl What is the fructose content of the agave nectar that does not use an enzymatic process?

  • @Thanks719 it's similar to that which uses an enzymatic process. It would be wise to look into the % fructose in the final product - ours is extremely low as we don't need to add much agave to it - it's mostly the fiber and nutrients from cacao beans, fruits, nuts, and seeds. It's not like you are drinking an apple's worth of agave... And the process and final syrup is VERY different from corn syrup. It's important to look at articles like Dr. Mercola's and reserach what he sells on his site.

  • @RawChocolateGirl So do you know the fructose content of the agave that you use? I am just curious. I actually did this video way before Dr. Mercola had anything to say about agave and I got all my information via my own independent research.

  • @Thanks719 Great info ! and I wonder why so many people are so stuck on believing everything Dr.Mercola and Dr.Oz say like they are God.I am so tired of people saying well Dr.Mercola said this and Dr.Oz said that, please do your own research people.

  • @Thanks719 Fruit has contained fructose for millions of years, ITS FINE. You're a sucker.

  • I just got back from Guadalajara and can provide in depth knowledge based on research AND personal experience :)

  • thanks blackman

  • 100% Pure Agave Syrup (from cactus) is good for you ppl! Dr.Sebi told us

  • I'm actually in Guadalajara, Mexico NOW visiting an agave farm and factory.

Please pay attention to fact and do some research that stems from unbiased sources.

Agave nectar is VERY different from HFCS - they are not processed in the same way at all.

Also as for fructose, please do some more research instead of just reading a few posts that all just copy information from one source!

  • @RawChocolateGirl Most agave nectar is made in a very similar way that high fructose corn syrup is made. There is an enzymatic process involved the production of high fructose corn syrup and agave nectar. I have read plenty of information on fructose through reading various scientific studies and through my own independent research and I am an expert on the matter. How much fructose is in the agave syrup that is being produced down there? The fructose percentage is the only thing that counts.

  • well dang it! I just bought two more bottles this week. I'm gonna look into this further but thank you for the jump start :-)

  • @Katmandooful Your welcome!

  • great channel.

  • @jdjude Thanks my friend

  • Use honey.or stevia

  • My mom paid for the giant bottle of the agave syrup. I can't get her to stop consuming it lol and she knows it's bad she just doesn't wanna waste her money so she wants to use it up. Is it really that bad?

  • @PlayfulRoyal It will not harm you immediately but over time it can be extremely harmful if used in high quantities.

  • I am confused... I watched King Corn and when they tried making HFCS they had to do all sorts of chemical processes I saw nothing about adding just enzymes the way you do with other sweeteners (erythritol and Agave) please enlighten me... all sugar is bad I understand and am willing to accept that... what I cannot accept is that HFCS is better than Agave. I believe the less processing something goes through the easier it is for your body to deal with it.

  • @RMDelete It is the fructose content of agave which makes it so harmful. Agave is over 90 percent fructose and fructose is a metabolic poison.

  • Just like all things; all sweeteners are no good once they are removed from their natural environment. Eat things in their natural state. If we are eating things that need to be sweetened, salted, spiced or whatever, we shouldn't be eating them. Goddess/God made it the way it is why add or take away from it. So-called animals don't mix and take things away from their food, unless domesticated. All the answers are in nature; inside and outside of us all. Hotep

  • hi junebugsandford.

your comment is the most intelligent and useful youtube comment, i've ever seen. I totally agree with you on eating things in there natural state, and the things that if need to be sweetened salted spiced etc shouldn't be eaten.

For sugar, i'm eating raw organic fruits and some raw organic honey, and raw organic maple syrup.

Please, could you enlighten me & message me on what you eat?

  • Duped???.....hell...LIED TO yet again....thanx for the info. HOTEP

  • Thankyou! Very insightly. We've all been duped!!

  • REMEMBER:

The FDA won't allow most people in the holistic field to say anything other than "I believe". Then again, they also won't financially support more studies on these topics. Try eating less sugars other than in it's natural form in WHOLE fruits for a while and see how you feel long term.

  • Health Food is such a cult. Thank you so much for this info, an actual intelligent and informed layman's explanation of the problem. I grew up eating granola bars, which are as bad as candy. Sugar is sugar, the HFCS ads are technically right, they are just very very evil, because they are "eat more" messages. All the different kinds of sugar are making Americans lardbuckets, when there is no fiber associated.

  • @jdhatl A CULT???

  • Agave syrup is bad news. It contains saponins, which are abortifacients, & have been used to poison fish.

  • @faulconandsnowjob YIKES!!!!!

  • Oh dang, I just JUST purchased some of this, thinking it would be better that white cane sugar...ugh.

  • @rss22 i know... i just payed 12 bucks for some thinking it was gonna be some great stuff :( guess ill just stick to the trusty honey

  • hey. do you have a link to the actual studies done? the links that you posted weren't very helpful

  • Hi, very interesting. What other sweetner can we use other than agave in teas, drinks, oatmeal\, cereals? I am on an anti inflammatory diet and need to eat low glycemic foods. Thanks

  • How about stevia?

  • Stevia is great. I recommend the whole leaf extract or concentrate or the green herbal powder. Peace

  • Yikes...I didnt know this!

  • Now if you actually sounded like a legitimate authority I'd believe you but there was too much of "I believe" rather than I know and not enough scientific research to back up your theory.

  • Did you check out all the research that I posted in the YouTube description about the dangers of fructose based sweeteners? Those studies tested fructose sweeteners that were only 40-55 percent fructose. Agave is 55 to 90 percent! That information I presented showed that fructose is the main problem and the higher the fructose the worse. I consider myself to be a legitimate authority on the topic. I'd be happy to see the information you have to dispute my claim. I do not mind being wrong.

  • great info thanks so much!

  • but juicing unlike smoothies for a fast can give the digestive system a break, fiber makes it harder to digest as you know.

  • man i drunk a coke in country BUERK that corn syrup gives you headaches.

Why do they put it in?

In Belgium europe its normal sugar ,also the kosher Coca cola they sell in some jewish shops in US is with normal sugar.

    PEACE

  • Greetings, they use high fructose corn syrup because it is cheap from government spending taxpayer money to subsidize it. Using sugar is more expensive and would also requires importing more sugar from foreign countries which would not be good for agribusiness here. Yeah corn syrup contains mercury too which harms your brain cells.

  • Hi, how does the mercury end up in the corn syrup? :O, Thanks

  • Mercury comes from the caustic soda used in the manufacturing process to make high fructose corn syrup.

  • Thanks i'll have to look that up.

  • Damn Damn Damn Curtis, It is always something! lol I have been finding that anything that is extracted and isolated is not to healthy for us. I was an agave fan, because it was easier to use, but originally I used soaked dates and its soak water if I wanted a recipe sweet, I guess it is back to that. To bad agave turned out to be not so good for us, Thank you for doing the research!

    Latrice

  • nixtamalization is used when cooking corn, its a native american process using lime stone...it makes the protein available for digestion...

  • Interesting, thanks for sharing! : )

  • Thanks. Now I know what Agave Nectar gave me headaches and had to stop using it. If you have links to the scientific research behind this, please let us know.

    Best,

  • Can you please provide a link to the research you found on this? This is interesting.
