Assyrians in Russia are originally from Iran, they fled to Russia during WW1 when the Turks were killing Armenians and us Assyrians. The music they play similiar to Armenian music because they use some of the same instruments, like the Dhol and the Zorna.  The singer is posted as Madlen, but she does not look like Madlen Khoshaba, their popular singer.

@DonTELGA There are also Assyrians from Turkey besides Iran who fled to Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia when the Turks were killing our people. The singer in the video is the beautiful Madlen Ishoeva who was born in a Assyrian village in Armenia. Her grandparents are from Urmia. Madlen currently resides in Moscow. Ludmilla Khoshaba is the other popular singer from the Assyrian Russian community. She was born in Tblisis. Ludmilla Khoshaba grandparents are from Van.
