This is really random, but my microwave does something similar to the fireman's hat. The light in the microwave doesn't light up when you open it, but when you close it, it flashes. I think it does that to let you know the door is closed completely. I think the Fireman's hat thing does that to show you it's working, possibly.
Actually, I'm not in RIT anymore. I withdrew last November due to personal and career choice problem. However...if I go up there to visit, I might can.
I was in an elevator like that in one of the anchor stores at a local mall. The up/down indicator was at the rear of the car. It also had that same tone with the up/down. The buzz may be an earlier type of Thyssenkrupp's annoying buzz on the floor indicator. If you're wondering, it's an old Dover!
Thats an otis elevator Elisha Graves Otis invented the first passenger elevator 1853 the elevators at canidas CN tower sears tower in chicogo eifel tower we learnded about otis in history class I know alot about elevators but I have no idea who made the elevator in macys or the class elevator at monroville mall I like thyssenkrupp the best they have nice fixtures

Oh absolutely, and you can certainly do that elevator. Also, what does RIT stand for?
CaptainElevator42189 4 years ago 2
Where's the RIT? (At what time in the video)? I might be able to figure it out.
d6d24r942 3 years ago
Another person took another video of an elevator at Austin College that looked very similar to this one, and commented that it was an Otis Elevator.
CaptainElevator42189 4 years ago 2
Actually, I take it back. ElevatorFan762 did a video that had these same signal fixtures, and it's actually a US Elevator.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago 2
On the down direction, why'd it go "bun, bun. Instead of buunnn buunnn?"
Baytrail 4 years ago 2
I think it's a Otis because of the buttons and the floor decals.
Baytrail 4 years ago
I don't think so. 'Cuz I have seen the similar one at RIT college. (Except it have vandal-proof buttons)

So if that's the case, will you sometime record that elevator at RIT?

Whay did you only go up, instead of both up and down?
CaptainElevator42189 4 years ago
That's an Otis; one church nearby has one with those same fixtures and buttons.
musicfreakcc 4 years ago
It is a US elevator from one of my US elevator videos.
elevatorfan762 3 years ago 11
Was that elevator at the church that you recorded today?
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
Yes.
musicfreakcc 3 years ago
Thank you so much.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
Actually, that looks more like a United States Elevator, because of the jamb plates and cab appearance.
CaptainElevator42189 4 years ago
Also, if the other buildings use Dover and ThyssenKrupp elevators, the United States Elevator Company was bought out by ThyssenKrupp in 1993.

It looks like an Abell.
