Will we ever have a Deaf-centered President of Gallaudet?

I wonder why there are no private colleges and schools for the deaf by the deaf people? There's private christian colleges and a few other private colleges.

I do not believe if a Deaf person can talk on the phone is an audist. Ben Soukup does not look down on Deaf people. I am not sure why people come up with this. Ben hired Roz Rosen, Frank Turk, Phil Bravin and many others to work for him at CSD. I do not know why people think Ben is an audist. In my opinion he is not an audist at all. Thank him for the VRS services that he worked with Sprint. This was before Sorensen.

I agree with you. Just because a Deaf person HAPPENS to be able to use the phone does not make them an "audist". It is the ATTITUDE that is important, not the hearing ability.

That said, I really don't know enough about Ben other than his long-time involvement in the Deaf community and founding of CSD to make any judgements about his attitude.

Why dont we find money and establish ASLU (American Sign Language University).

I rather to change from Gallaudet University to Laurent Clerc University that he was the one who accept us and our native language after he realized how important for us to have native language to understand the concept of language first before English written. He is the one who should represent the name of University.

Ben Skoupe (spelling?) is, I believe, a closet audist. I heard from numerous resources that he talks on phone.

Oh yes, Kalalau since Ben Skoupe earned 800,00 dollars a year and misused Deaf people in many ways. So that is what I am looking at Alan that he will make more money than he had in NTID/RIT to earn before he will retire within 5 yrs. That is how I see these men are making money and dont care for Deaf people of the Deaf community since they are on AGBell s side of pushing all Deaf children to have CI device after they born and no ASL to be part of it since they violated our rights to have ASL.

And also, they violated Deaf babies/children s body property and crossed their own boundary line. That is the treatment of being so cruel toward Deaf Human Beings. That is my boycott against AGBell and Medicals and some parent of CI deaf with a very nasty audist attitude, who have a very disrespectful of our outspoken about our Deaf children s right. They are very wrong to violate their Deaf children s body properties that is a child abuse. Hurting Deaf babies/children is M E A N.

Need to use your "common sense" and listen to your true inner soul as you were a Deaf child who went through the plight of sufferings and dealing with all those mixed messages that we couldn't be ourselves for/by being deaf with all kind of manipulation and force to do this + that by Hearing Supremacy, we put it up with for no reason. We are very innocent children who have their natural spiritual of being deaf from day one. Also, no one can across your boundary lines that is not allowed.
