But I think the reason why was because this was a Shonen Sunday special. Inuyasha, Ranma, and Urusei Yatsura were part of Shonen Sunday and Maison Ikkoku was part of Big Comic Spirits (and I think it was the only manga Rumiko Takahashi made that wasn't Shonen Sunday)

Rumiko has sold the most mangas more than any other female, has made more money than any other manga author, and had 4 successful internationally manga/anime series that very few manga authors could only wish for over the last 30 years going on five when the Kyokai No Rinne anime comes out in 2 1/2 to 3 years. It's because this partly for Shonen Sunday's 50th anniversary celebration. The manga for Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, and InuYasha were all published in Shonen Sunday. Maison Ikkoku was published in another magazine, so they didn't include it here.

Both Maison Ikkoku and Rumic World were printed in a different comics magazine.

I think it's just one of the many volumes that happened inbetween the TV/OVA's, and the Manga.

I guess this is just me, but I like how she ended Ranma 1/2. It shows you how it's likely to end, but at the same time, leaves it open to possibilities.

It's probably why Ranma was so popular for so long past it's ending.

MI is probably the most 'completed' manga in her catalog. You could say everyone got a decisive happy ending, and there was no more story to tell (although I wouldn't have minded seeing them older and with kids).
