@flute1234 crime and murders are related to areas in poverty. you find the areas with the highest crime and murder per capita, they will also be the poorest per capita. in southern california where i live. certain parts of LA have high crime, they are the poorer areas. i live in a upper middle class neighborhood, crime is non-existent other than the occasional tepee and egging of a house(if that qualifies). A lot of people have guns though, i know from being inside my friends homes.

They aren't including the "greater Vancouver area" outside of the city limits technically, but still considered "Vancouver". Most of the gangs are concentrated in areas just outside of the "Vancouver city limits" and a great deal of crime happens in those areas as well.
@flute1234 Sounds to me like official numbers you're using that were spun purposely to drive more tourism to Vancouver. That's a very common statistical ploy, given the way our typical North American urban sprawl cities are laid out (the "city" actually being the core urban area, and most people living in the sprawl that is in the same general area but "not in the city limits). There will likely be less crime in areas with less residential neighborhoods, even in the middle of the city.

@flute1234 I never said that YOU made it up. That's a common statistical trick that municipalities play to skew results. They give the impression of a lower crime rate by including only the city limits, rather than the greater area, even though more people work in the city limits than live, making the chances for crime increase in the outskirts more than actually downtown. Hastings has a bunch of drug users and whackos, but not so much violent crime from my observations. Lots of homeless.

@flute1234 How to manipulate such a statistic: Only include the 600,000 people living directly within the city limits of Vancouver, which is mostly high income yuppie areas with a high concentration of police 24 hours a day. They aren't including the "greater Vancouver area" outside of the city limits technically, but still considered "Vancouver". Most of the gangs are concentrated in areas just outside of the "Vancouver city limits" and a great deal of crime happens in those areas as well.

@flute1234 Sounds to me like official numbers you're using that were spun purposely to drive more tourism to Vancouver. That's a very common statistical ploy, given the way our typical North American urban sprawl cities are laid out (the "city" actually being the core urban area, and most people living in the sprawl that is in the same general area but "not in the city limits). There will likely be less crime in areas with less residential neighborhoods, even in the middle of the city.

Vancouver is the biggest city in BC therefore thats where you look for stats. IF i could post the direct page for you i would but you and anyone can look it up. The worst place in Vancouver is called East Hastings. Its in downtown Vancouver. Hardly outside of the city llimits. Noone in this entire world would agree Vancouver is worse than the U.S

@flute1234 I never said that YOU made it up. That's a common statistical trick that municipalities play to skew results. They give the impression of a lower crime rate by including only the city limits, rather than the greater area, even though more people work in the city limits than live, making the chances for crime increase in the outskirts more than actually downtown. Hastings has a bunch of drug users and whackos, but not so much violent crime from my observations. Lots of homeless.

Let's compare that number to the number of employed engineers in the United States. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were about 1.6 million of them in 2008. So this means that according to A&E for 9/11 Truth, 0.00088% of all engineers nation wide, support the 9/11 Truth Movement. Still want to believe in that bullshit...?

The reason that the first responders are not being cared for and treated as the heroes that they are, is because they were there and saw everything. They have first hand knowledge of the things that we can only speculate about. Doesn't it make sense that these people are being ignored? the more attention that is paid to them, the greater the chance that they may say something that the criminals don't want everyone to hear.
