  • i cant wait to try this question do you have to texture the background or can you just do it to canvas?? thanks for the video!

  • @callmeleelee You don't have to texture the background, but if you use gesso first, it will help.

    Just have a try :-)

  • @rosyperu88 Thanks for your nice comment, this is called magic ;-)

  • Wow Klaas. Love the result you got from this technique.

Hate to be a downer though.....How do you dispose of the paint- water without damaging the environment?

  • @9doves Thanks for your comment, I filter the paint-water before I throw it away

  • LOVE this....question for you.....maybe a rookie question...but did you let the gesso dry first, or did you do it while the gesso was still wet. I want to try this out! Thanks for the great tutorial!

  • @crestondiva2008 Thanks for your nice comment Kris, i let the gesso dry first before i use it. I wish you a lot of fun trying it out ;-)

  • hi love the technique want to try it out was wondering whether you heat the water up and do you need a specific gesso

  • @a92ish No, you don't need to heat the water up, just cold water, and you don't have to use a specific gesso.

  • Brilliant technique!

  • @clbcreations thank you

  • I had a problem using this technique, the paint didnt seem to stick very well on the gesso, the paint actually started to crack and some parts began to peel off the gesso, any thoughts on why? Thanks..

  • Did you used spraypaint based on terpentine?

  • very simple and amazing. Thanks

  • AWESOME!

  • I am simply fascinated by your technique. What is the largest canvas piece you created using this technique? Are there any publications where I can read up on "how to" get similar looking results? BTW, do you add the turpentine into the water & mix or pour on top of the water? Sorry for all the questions but I truly loved your art work, it is splendid! Thanks again for all your help.

  • The largest piece i made with this technique is 80 by 60 cm, There are no publications, i'm sorry. You don't mix turpentine with the water, The spraypaint i use is based on terpentine.

    Greetings, Klaas ;-)

  • My friend from art class just linked me this and we are SO trying that technique out asap. ♥ Thank you!

  • AWESOME!!! Could you please tell us what type of paints you are using & what liquid is in the tub? How long do it take you to create these works of art? This is the most unique process I've seen in a very long time. Thank you for sharing your work w/us...absolutely AWESOME!!!

  • Thanks for your nice comment, i use alkyd spray paint, based on terpentine, the liquid in the tub is just water. The time it took me for the whole process is just about 10 minutes.
