Guess what Chris? I got an android phone xD I decided against the G1 and went with the Motorola Cliq. I'm glad i did, i sure do miss my sidekick like you said you do lol. But android is sweeeeeet. By the way a huge break through in the Cliq root development was made yesterday. We can finally root! YAY! Just no custom roms yet. Ill wait until we get a 2.0 or 2.1 rom =] just wanted to let you know.

What do you mean? you wanna unroot your G1? well go to theunlockr[dot]com and search for "how to unroot your g1 and you'll find the vid tutorial. hope that helps.

hey emo i have a question iam having a little problem just a while ago i just tried intalling a new rom on my rooted g1 but wen i rebooted my phone i lost all of my rooted capabillities i lost my rooted system recovery and everything now iam back to 1.6 i tried rerooting my phone but when i do the steps it keep aborting at the stock recovery i dont know wat to do man please help!! :-(

ACTUALLY, you should tell them you go an Over The Air update and you clicked Ok, and it got stuck at that screen. Usually they will replace your phone =)

I bricked my first G1 like days after I got it last month and I called and said that I downloaded something from the market and rebooted my phone and now it wont go past the G1 screen. The rep was really trying to figure it out ha. She had me try to boot into recovery and everything (which I tried before calling). Just make sure when you give them your story you stick to it. She kept asking me the same questions over and over again haha

It's very hard to brick your G1. If you can get into recovery. You can save it. What were you trying to do when you bricked it?

YUP! Castlevania SOT. My favorite game ever. =)

Its a LOT different than Astro. One being, you can backup all your apps (just like Astro)

BUT when you restore them later, it will automatically put them in your ext partition with 1 CLICK! No need for babysitting.

Thats why you need root for this app =)

Nandroid, SwitchROM, BART you can only backup your ROM and apps for when you go back to that ROM

With Backup For Root Users, you can take the apps WITH you onto a new ROM =)

So use both =D

if u can go into boot recovery go in usb mode and load the SAPPIMG.nbh on your phone ( make sure that is the only file on the root of your SD card ) then reboot in Fastboot mode and you should be fine it works for me

Like if i backup the apps + data on my current SD card, copy them to my pc and then back to my NEW SD card and restore from that card, can it work?XD

When you're switching a old rom, it doesn't have your newer apps, sms and all the stuff in your new rom, so this helps if you switchrom alot

This is different from SwitchROM

SwitchROM is used when you want to backup your ROM and apps for when you come back to the ROM later...

Backup For Root Users lets you backup your apps ONLY so you can take them with you to a new ROM =)
