I was never fortunate enough to own an atari 800xl, but the music sounds very much like the AY38910 as in the Sinclair Spectrum. Looking at that demo in your video, the wavey patterns look very much like the copper effects you would get in some Amiga demo's. Jay miner was an amazing guy for working on the Atari machines and latter the Amiga. I've been using Amiga for years and it saddens me that the Amiga is no more... Thanks for some great videos !
@musicmarius - People say that because the main designer of the Atari 8-bit (Jay Miner) designed the Amiga, but Atari management wasn't interested in it, so he left to try to do it on his own or find others who would. Amiga was originally it's own company, but then Commodore stepped in to make Commodore-Amiga (as most initial literature lists the name)...though they ended up having to pay Atari some money because Atari had also invested in the standalone Amiga company to see what came of it.
Awesome vid, Marius. Nice small overview of it's great games, and capabilities. Love your choise of music too. Somehow the vid is a bit choppy here. I hope it's a problem on my end. Otherwise, it could have looked better.
It was my best age when i had 800XL...

@amigajunkie
Some people say that the Commodore Amiga is the successor of the Atari 8bit series (XL/XE). It might be true, I don't know.
I am very happy with my Atari's. They are really cool. Still!

Nope. My computer is pretty fast, and it's still choppy. I think you need better capturing software.
