They're marching bands from different schools. If you went to UCLA instead of Berkeley, you'd be whining about the people you used to agree with. Grow up, fantards. I'm all for having pride in your own school, but don't be a douche about it. Seriously.
Big C was composed before the baby Bruin band decided to make it their fight song. Again, Berkeley was the 1st campus to be created. Cal Band Great. fUCLA.
It's okay, the douchebaggedly overdone ending of Big C is appropriate, considering how UCLA has to deal with the equally douchebag and overly done shit ass fight songs of USC -_-
how are we supposed to tell who is better when theres only one minute of cal and 4 minutes of ucla? you can barely here anything from the cal band too.

UCLA clearly is the better band but you're right; BRUIN fans don't apprerciate the musical chioces. Hopefully G. Henderson won't get fired for trying to respect musical integrity.
if by stole you mean wrote a better version of, shared with other university and then they choose not to use it and then you just kept it for yourself because why let the better version go to waste....if thats what you meant, then yes.
I know this is a difficult concept for Berkeley people to understand, but UCLA and UC Berkeley are two campuses in the same University of California. Technically, you can't steal from yourself.
In any case, the UCLA arrangement in Sons of Westwood is far superior to the crappy Big C. Plus, the UCLA version has been played at more NCAA championship games, so, to the rest of the country, it's our song.

You say your song is "Sons of Westwood," but DAMN you it's "BIG C!"

UCLA stole the song from cal and gave it national recognition....just like basketball, football, etc...

UCLA will always be the little sib to Cal, resenting both Cal's tradition and academic prestige.
Go Bears!

And if by better you mean a lot of flowery stuff added on either end then sure.
Sons of Westwood would not have meshed well with the rest of our more traditional, march-like and hymnlike school songs.
I personally respect the talent and musicality of the UCLA band, but dislike the arrangements they usually play. To each his/her (THEIR) own

Of course UCLA kicks butt in this video. You were right next to their band.
UCLA stole Cal's fight song.

UCLA stole everything from Cal. The Bear, the Motto, The Seal, The Fight Song, EVRYTHING!
