  • parrot smarter than cat, cat smarter than dog

  • This is the cutest parrot ever! I love birds so much! He's so funny and cute! I hope he lives long.

  • 0:57 that bird is copying a phone call he heard so watch out what u say around him :S

  • I love when they make beeping noises! its so cute!!

  • i wonder why parrots talk, are they trying to communicate, do they have any idea what they're saying, or are they just dumb repeaters, like a tape recorder? i'm thinking the latter.

  • @occultologist they've evolved to be social, and it is important for them to pay close attention to their "flock." They pay close attention to human behavior when they are pets. They do understand associations: see cat / say cat related phrase; hear phone / say "hello." Mostly they are trying to adopt learned behavior so that they fit in with the flock. They don't really understand the significance unless they are trained well, then they might learn SOME sentence building.

  • 0:17 LAWL.

You invite people over to your house for dinner and your parrot starts screaming "Ohhh yes yes yes, I'm cumming!!" hehe

  • @feelingfluffy I can tell you that mine burps, makes farting sound and also curses. Yeah you gotta be careful what you do/say around them cuz they'll embarass you if you have guests.

  • "we dont gnaw on our kitty"

  • i have a cockatoo and he sounds something like this so the bird is truly speaking

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks so very much for the compliment. This truly is the bird speaking.

  • @JEDDA33 u suck if uve ever seen greys talk then u wouldnt have said that. its the bird! ok

  • I've never even owned a bird, and I can even tell...

  • ...that thats the bird really speaking(sorry for the double post)

  • @JEDDA33

The poster is obviously a troll, but you don't hear us crying 'foul.'

  • @JEDDA33 Aren't you the smartest about birds. If you didn't know, some birds mimik the same of their masters

  • @JEDDA33 Parrots' vocal chord aren't "built" to actually speak human. However, they are extremely good at imitating sounds. This leads to parrots speaking words, where they are simply remembering and imitating the sound the word makes; as a result of that, the parrot sounds a bit like the owner, but distorted a bit.

  • @MelficeSilesius by human, you mean English? no one was "build" to speak english anything we learn it by repeating sounds, How does a baby learn? you teach him...dogs and other animals can do it too, not just parrots.

  • @JEDDA33

parrots mimic human speech, super genius.

  • omg i want that parrot

  • I tink I taw a pussycat, LOOOOL

    veeery cool !

  • mate, stop being so melodramatic... the bird most likely has a good life, if it were to be set free, he would starve to death and would have nobody because african greys aren't found in america...

it's cruel to keep a bird in a cage but this thing - i can guarantee - gets loads of attention from it's owner and is out of it's cage most of the day, he probably thinks he's people...

if anything he's better off inside because there's no hasstle and no predators...

  • well humans live in an unnatural environment, we should actually be living in the wild left to our own devices...

but we don't because we like this life better and it protests us from predators, it does the same for many domestic animals and looking at this bird, he doesn't look unhappy...

i've come to accept that many animals may possibly be happier in captivity, they may live an unnatural life with a warped perspective on reality but it may make them happy like many humans...

  • @FormulaOneFan4Eva

I appreciate your thoughts and would agree; man has created an unnatural environment for himself. However, animals in captivity have not. That's the distinction between humans and domesticated pets. I'm for cats, dogs, and injured animals in the care of loving humans, but will NEVER agree to a bird sentenced to a life indoors. They are social creatures and should be with their own kind. Worse yet, they should have the freedom to fly. It is absolutely CRUEL when they can not.

  • we don't gnaw at our kitty = AUSTIN POWERS Dr Evil said it aswell xD

  • Love to hear "we don't knaw ar our kitty," so cute

  • its so weird how a parrot can just copy exactly what a person says thats so cool!

  • We don't gnaw on our kitty!

  • I have been wanting an african grey for a long time. they are so much easier to listen to then other parrots. I know if I get one I better do it soon, because I'm 25 already

  • i was going to get one but it would be like having a child .

  • hahahahahaha very funny

  • love to hear his deep voice and playing with kitty

  • hehe sylvia says okay bye bye 'beep' lol

  • 0:52 lol

  • lol at like 0:39 the bird looks at the cat like

    "What you want bitch?"

  • Sylvia is beautiful!

  • I'm fascinated how humanlike a parrot's voice can be. Amazing. 0:56 I was on the floor laughing, that is just sweet!!!

  • "cooool... yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhhaha.... okayyyyyy... buhbye.... *whistle*"

    :) sooo cute

  • I can tell there's about 4 or 5 people living in that household by the amount of different voices this parrot imitates.... XD

  • Salutations snack! LOL!

  • hahaha! :)

  • This video is so hilarious haha.

"We don't gnaw on our kitty."

    Best line ever.

  • WE DON'T GNAW ON OUR KITTY!

  • >:3

  • they're precious!

  • I know cats won't attack macaws but will they attack african greys?

  • Salutations snack! This line was heard from Mrs. Doubtfire.

  • 0:52 haha

  • hmmm I notice your CAG seems to be a plucker.....have you solved that issue yet?

  • ALL African Greys are pluckers. Large parrots are not actually suited to be pets, even though many people keep them. It's not that they dislike being owned by humans more than other pets do, but they need a LOT of mental and visual stimulation - a lot of things to do. Even if you try your hardest, many African Greys usually end up being pluckers anyway.

  • Oh my god! It's so cute how he meows at the cat!! I love your bird. he's fricken AWESOME!!

  • "we don't gnaw on our kitty " !!

ahhh your parrot likes austin powers !!!

  • i've been watching quiet a few videos of talking birds and this one by far is the best!!! he is sooo cute and funny (with out the swearing is great as well!)

  • yeah, okay, buh-bye

  • Oh my gosh, that is so darn cute! I love that film.

  • we don't gnaw on our kitty! fucking classic!!! lol

  • 0:15 crack cat lol

  • 0:55

  • Why is it that evolution gave certain species of birds this ability to mimic complicated sounds so explicitly? What is the survival function of this?

  • they use thier variety of sounds to attract mates. i you can make more and more complex sounds, the lady birds will want you

  • Did that parrot just say "I thought I saw a puddy tat?" lol thats fuckin class.

  • awesome!!

  • ***LOL****

  • ahahaha "Cool!" xD

  • 0:46 and 0:47 lololololololololololol i laughed SOOOO hard at that part

  • he as imitating dr evil lol

  • i actually n literally LOL'd at that hahah it was so random

  • loooooool

  • "we don't knaw on our kitty"

  • No parrots don't know what they're saying, they just repeat sounds they've herd since their vocal organs are similar to humans. my grandpas always goes "Will you make me a sandwich?" Its hilarious when guests are there.

  • That is incorrect. Look up some of the videos of Alex the African grey. He had a huge vocabulary and knew what he was saying.

  • like humans certain parrots can be geniuses, and have a much move delevloped brain

  • Only Aferican Greys Dont Repeat after humans. They are taught like a child and they know the difference.

  • omg, parrots are so awesome! what do you have to do to make them talk like this? do they do that on their own when they hear things? or do they just randomly call out stuff they've heard?

  • my dad haz 2 african grays male and female, they are amazing,, but this iz tite bcareful so the cat iz never hungry though

  • CUTE ^-^lol

  • That was cute made me smile!

  • Parrot's RULE!

  • "We don't gnaw on our kittie."

    =3

  • Hahaha, this is hilarious. I can't stop laughing. :D

  • LOL That reminds me of my grey; she meows and calls the cats, but when the cats do show up, she yells at them to get down and calls them bad kitty. Otherwise my bird is the same way very chatty.

  • There's anecdotal evidence that some parrots have an idea that what they say is linked to humans' responses - asking for food or scratches and receiving is fairly obvious reinforcement. Saying 'hello' when someone enters a room is less obvious.

  • do parrots know what they're saying?

  • YES ALEX DOES

    BUT HE DIED SEARCH HIM

  • very strange how parrots can talk exactly like us..i wonder if they know what they are saying...

  • did i say parrot...sorry i meant parakeet (not sure how to spell it)

  • again i am stupid and i meant parrot

  • Holy cow, this is F'n great.

"We don't gnaw on our kittie"

  • "Cool! Yeahhhh. okay byebye" ROFL

  • XD The parrot does an eccelent impersonation of a man replying flegmatically while running off. Heh, very nice!

  • talking parrots officially reminds me of fullmetal alchemist. but its still cute

  • that was cool

  • strange how Parrots are the only creature that can truly mimic our voices and speech

  • at the end, it kinda sounds like he wuz pretending 2 talk 2 someone on the phone. LOL

  • I think it is imitating a answering machine? At the very end of the clip he even makes the "beep" noise!

  • juts a question not to be rude at all but did you get the name Widget of of wow wow wubzy? just asking.

  • That parrot is really good at talking.

  • LOL he says: Widget! and you see that cat runs for his life!! lol..

  • very cool and kinda sureal .

i kept imagining some music from a David Lynch movie in the background .

  • that parrot is fucking awsome!

  • ROFL thats brilliant

  • ha ha funny he was like imitating you talking on the phone and he EVEN made the beeping noise! HYSTERICAL! Better show my mom!

  • Greys are such amazing imitators! :)

  • cool, yeah, ok byebye lol

i dont get where he got "we dont gnaw on our kitty" cute

  • i think he got it from his owner going

"no! We don't knaw on our kitty!" when the parrot bites the cat(0:51)

  • yeah i think ur right

  • hamsty134: The owner had to have taught it to the bird. Where the owner got it from is the second Austin Powers movie where Dr. Evil tells Mini-Me not to gnaw on mini-Mr. Bigglesworth. If the owner didn't teach it, then the bird must've picked it up from the movie on its own.

  • omfg i have that monitor!apple cinema display...
