  • Guess they needed someone who already had practice yelling "...can't live in yesterday."

  • Comment removed

  • whos the guy that does vocals at 2:09

  • @neilpeartrocks2112 Andrew Neufeld of Comeback Kid

  • I wish I could actually buy this CD, I love SFTP and this CD. But I don't think they're physically selling in Brazil and I don't have an internation credit card to buy it on iTunes.

  • You guys. This song isn't about illegal downloading as much as you think it is. It's about the current state of music and how there's less of a personal attachment to it nowadays. People download like 10 albums at a time for their iPod, then sort of listen to them, and pass quick judgement. Back in "the day" there would be a more personal, real connection to the artist. That's what the song is really trying to get across, not "don't illegally download shit!"

  • @ItsNotActuallyFunny Sad truth. I and many others do that...

  • its like Rage Against the Machine and The Chariot had a crazy, deformed, yet awesome sounding baby!

  • who's the feat.?

  • @TheAndresantos Andrew from Comeback Kid.

  • POP stands for POPular haa haa haa haa haa !!!

  • The three tabs on my browser:

Bamboozle 2012 Line Up (Where I found this band)

    Youtube

    The Pirate Bay

    made me lol

  • I bought this cd. CD sales help them determine what kind of tours they can go on, the more cd sales the first week the better tour opportunities.

  • Dont they know that record labels take like 90% of the money spend on a cd. if you want to support their band, go to their shows, buy their merch. downloading music dosn't harm the band whatsoever, just the record label

  • @xIAMDAVEx

And harming the record label in return harms the band. Use some common sense and go buy their album.

  • @Hayezb88 yes sir if a bands record sales fall they may drop the band which equals no more album release. if you like a bands music enough to download it throw a little money their way even if it means just buying one or two songs from itunes or whatever you use. The best part is seeing them live and if they don't have money to tour you wont get to see them. Don't let this music die off while pop continues to sell millions and flourish even with downloading available.

  • @demonsrt4 "Don't let this music die off while pop continues to sell millions and flourish even with downloading available." Good point.

  • They're so good live

  • its like rage against the machine + hardcore

  • Comment removed

  • now it makes sense. the gap in between his teeth gives him that different voice!

  • I love videos like this. Just another living proof of how hardcore fell flat on its face a ling time ago.

  • Even though im a Christian, I cant help but like their tunes, Im not so much for the "God cant save you nows" and such other lyrics ive heard but to each his own, still passionate music! Keep It up! I guess if mattie (For Today) are friends with them and let Strays vocalist on their album they gotta be some cool dudes. :D

  • NY HxC

  • needs more "bllllaah!"

  • @MollyMorphium I love that sound, I always wait for it so I can BLEEEEEGGGHHHH!!! along with it.

  • Who's the featured vocalist?

  • @MontyAlcott Lead singer of Comeback Kid :D

  • HAHA I love how so many people hate this band, I love it.

  • what's with the gangsta hardcore?

  • 2:45 going super sayen motha fuckas!

  • 0:56 ----> fabrizio de andrè! FUCK YEAH!!

  • ...No

  • Sounds good!

  • reminds me of rage against the machine, not a bad thing at all

  • 2:26. TRY not to make an angry face.

  • You wanna support a band? By some t shirts and go to their shows. That's the best way to support them. nowadays it doesn't matter if you buy their cd's or not.

  • @GuerrillaFrilla it matters to the producers and sound tech people who don't make any money touring, who actually sit in a recording studio helping bands make something to sell, but fuck it, just steal everything, I'm sure the quality won't drop without any profits to put into the recording.

  • @luke666808g There's a reason why i the band, not anyone one else. BTW i buy physical copies of all my music, there's just no point in convincing people its good to buy them.

  • @GuerrillaFrilla I guess you're right, there's no point trying to convince people, I just wonder what the future holds when all bands are unsigned and have to fund recording and marketing costs themselves.

I buy most of my stuff from itunes, but I buy physical copies when I can, I just don't have the patience to wait 2 weeks for stuff to come in the mail when the record store doesn't stock something, I especially like it when itunes includes a digital CD booklet.

  • Bands get like one cent from every song you download from iTunes, they get like 12 cents from every album you buy from the store, even less if you buy from a big store like Wal-Mart, Target, FYE, etc. However, they make a shitload off of ticket sales and merchandise sales. I have several CDs in my possession, I have also borrowed my friends' CDs to put them on my computer. However, I have seen or intend to see all my favorite bands live. To say I don't support them is flat out wrong. Fuck SOPA.

  • @UninsaneRocker this is the typical propaganda we get from pro-piracy types, that bands really don't give a fuck about piracy, Greg Puciato from Dillinger Escape Plan has this to say about that.

"Any argument is just an argument to appease a guilty conscience and try to pretend that it isn’t wrong…because we all still just wanna be able to get things for free."

  • i just stole this song...

  • i have a feeling they support sopa too. i agree with Ureyeuh though, its nice buying the actual cd but since most of the stores that sell cd's are out of business where i live i usually resort to youtube mp3 converters. i wouldn't be surprised if the youth fifty years from now don't know what a cd is at the rate things are advancing :(

  • These guys are one of those more "Original-sounding bands"

  • This is pretty cool. I think I'll go get their cd from mediafire

  • BLEGH!

  • I hope they paid The Pirate Bay some royalties for featuring them in their video.

  • Walking down the road to the beach in my home town L.I, today i bumped into dru from stray....wish i would of known the show in BK was sold out,,would of asked for a ticket...now im fucked!! but its cool cuz seeing him today was something telling me to get my band on the go....i was jus down on myself and seeing thaT these guys were goin on a US tour just made me wanna man up....practice is tm..time to step it up...bleh

  • sick song, what point are they tryna make here?

  • Long Island

  • Greatest contemporary hardcore band to assault my ears.

  • guys its not so much about money either way, its about the dedication to music as something youd have to commit to in terms of time and money. not just a few clicks and an ipod sync

  • Sumerian Records is the only label that exclusively has awesome bands.

  • Love , love , LOVE , Stray from the path! <3

I must listen to them twenty times or more a day.

  • @SVRSugar fuck yeah, thank you so much!

  • @Strayfromthepath Do me a favour and come to Newfoundland & Labrador , Canada. You've been to the east of Canada , but not far enough. ;)

  • The lyrics/message of this song are so important and vital to the world of music, I can't believe this has never been done before! Nothing connects people and attaches itself to people's emotions more than music and when you earn money, go out, choose a record and listen to it, you make a connection and you change your life in some way through that record. That is artistic integrity and it is why music is vital to us all.

  • @LeMuppet it hasn't been done before because most people don't give a shit. and thats a fact.

  • Just put 1 and 1 together: Stray From the Path supports SOPA!! WTF guys? I know that's not the point of the video, but you do know that's what you're inadvertently doing right?

    #punkrockfail #stilllovethisbandthough

  • @TypicalKid100 To be honest, a version of it that basically was able to just eradicate illegal downloading would be brilliant. It's extremely difficult for band's to make enough to live on these days because no one buys their albums and just downloads them. It's fair enough that bands would like to actually make enough money to survive.

  • @Mp5Drummer look, the bottom line is that the entertainment industry runs on an archaic business model that's behind the 8ball in terms of progression. The landscape for "selling" music has changed, likely forever from how it was. One could get into a lengthy argument on "stealing" music, but in short you can only postpone the reality of music being safe from distribution w/out compensation to artists. Agree or not, think it's just the way it is going forward.

  • @TypicalKid100 You don't understand. You are looking at it black and white with SOPA and this song. We don't support piracy because of the fact that it tears people from the actual record. SOPA is not the way to handle it, by stripping our freedom of the internet and censoring people. Under SOPA a person could get up to 5 years for downloading a Michael Jackson album illegally. When the person who allegedly killed him is only serving 4 years. Seriously? #askquestionsbeforeyouassume #thankyou

  • @Strayfromthepath I don't think you guys give yourself enough credit. Bands like SFTP IMHO transcend their platforms.E.g. Make Your Own Hist. came out round same time as another metal bands. Ripped yours from mediafire, bought the other. Played the later 1x, haven't listened to since. I never miss your shows and MYOH is an album I connected w/ very personally & will give to my kids 1 day. Don't like STFP cause of the album artwork, cause of what you guys say & do.

  • What a great song. This whole album kicks ass guys. Saw you live in Indianapolis at The Emerson a couple times and can't wait for next time!

  • @7HUGLIF3 awesome! thank you!!!

  • RATM 2.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @crustsoul haha not even close, but definitely flattered. thank you

  • BLEH!

  • Is this an anti-thepiratebay song?

  • @Freezaen no.

  • @strayfromthepath Thanks for the clarification. I must say its pretty rad you guys actually respond to your You Tube comments. For the record I do own Rising sun and Make your own history. Keep it up

  • @mikeyeatsbugs awesome, thank you!

  • Make Your Own History or Rising Sun?

  • Check out TWO SHELLS LEFT!! METALCORE FROM LONG ISLAND! GET WITH IT!!!

  • Too throaty of vocals. Hxc boooo

  • Ick.

  • "BLEHHHHHH!"

  • AWESOME

  • BLEGH.

  • Totally digging Comeback Kid on this track.

  • Like this comment if they should make a shirt that says If this world is all about digital lives, I can say that I'm ready to die.

  • 1:33

  • Dublin, April 6th!!!!

  • Andrew, a fucking GOD.

  • @MilesAwayFromHere8 for sure. Honored to work with him

  • Awesome . . I can understand what he is saying . . always a good thing.

  • I'm not sure I can agree with their message here. I believe in supporting artist, but what's a better way to support them, by buying a cd that will give a small royalty after the label takes their share, or by going to their show, buying their t-shirt (which they make more money on) and wearing it around town? I wouldn't know and see most of the bands I listen to if it weren't for the internet.

  • @Counterinfluence I agree entirely with this.

  • @Counterinfluence This song is actually about how the internet is shutting down a lot of record stores because of the simplicity of downloading music.

  • @Counterinfluence This song is not about money. Never was. Its about people don't connect with the actual entirety that is a bands record. Because they download and download and download and put it on their iPod with thousands of bands, you don't take in a record like a band intends you too...or at least how our band intends you too.

  • @Strayfromthepath Now I can see where you guys are coming from. And I agree with you there. There is definitely a huge disconnect between the fans and the music, people don't seem to take the time and lose themselves in an album. It's great to see you guys taking the time to connect with your fans here as well!

  • @Counterinfluence It's a good point and one I partially agree with, but you gotta factor in that the label sets them up with the contacts they need, the tour, the equipment, the transport, they have to pay for studio time and any personel that requires (producers, engineers etc) they support the bands in their own way, so them taking money from cd sales to continue the support bands is something I can agree with.

  • @PhantomStarscream EXACTLY.

  • @PhantomStarscream and buying from stores like independents, hot topic, FYE, best buy...you may think its "Gay" to shop there, but guess what buying from there supports us, and the store so they can carry your other favorite bands records.

  • @Strayfromthepath does it really? the only reason i've pirated is cuz of labels raping you guys, i'll buy from them from now on :)

  • @Counterinfluence EXACTLY

  • @Counterinfluence See, you are true to a sense but if us fans don't purchase their CD's they end up oweing money to the record label for all the prints of the CD's. So, if your buying their album your actually helping them paying their debt off to the label. Most bands break up in this genre because of low sells and ends up oweing a shit ton to the label. Buy CD's it helps more than you know.

  • Download it for free, Download it illegally. Either way, nothing will replace the physical presence of the real cd in your hands, the poster from inside it on your walls, the space of it in your car, or the feeling of happiness knowing you help support the band.

  • @Ureyeuh you dont help support the band by buying a cd, you support the record label you fuckin pawn

  • @ETSJoshVoxx I feel like that was really unnecessary as far as your response goes, but at least I know now, thanks for clearing that up?... lol Pretty sure I walked out of Sam Goody's with Rising Sun and both my friends went in and bought it as well, then turned around and bragged about the album on facebook about how sick they were. I don't see how that harmed the band at all, or how that made me a, "Pawn" but thanks dood.

  • @Ureyeuh i dont know why i called you a pawn either, but my point being depending on where you bought it you could be hurting the band, because they dont get a lot of the money, or like any at all, i've heard countless bands tell me to going to shows and buying merch is more important then their record sales

  • @ETSJoshVoxx I know dood. I play music as well and have talked to musicians in bands that have been touring for years as well. Granted I'm not on a label and touring full time, but I know that there are things that are more financially helpful to a band aside from buying the cd. I just stated what I did because it related to the video... lol

  • @Ureyeuh true

  • Whos is the guest vocalist on this track??

  • @RockNWaveSurfer Andrew Neufeld of Comeback Kid

  • @strayfromthepath oh my bad. I just figured at your show when you said that whole, go out TO a record store and pick up this album and support bands then played this song, the song had SOMETHING to do with paying for music

  • @mikeyeatsbugs Yes which is all a process of connecting with a record. We have not and will never make a dollar off of our records. We sell them for 5$ at shows, which is the lowest we can sell them for so people will have it, so its NOT about money at all. But going to a record store, and getting the physical record and being attached to it...thats what it is about.

  • @Strayfromthepath I saw you guys in SLC, UT with Despised Icon 2 years and and one day ago without ever listening to you guys before, and as I was walking out, I saw Drew selling $5 copies of MYOH. I went and bought a copy, shook his hand and thanked him for playing a great set. From that moment, I was hooked. Thank you Stray From The Path for restoring my faith in music

  • like this if you bought Rising Sun after hearing this song

  • Replay. Replay. Replay. Replay. Replay.

  • The songs about paying for your music. Has nothing to do with social networks. Fucking ignorance....

  • @mikeyeatsbugs The song is not about paying for your music. The song is about connecting with music like its intended too.

  • @Strayfromthepath I definitely feel this stuff, you guys have heart. I heard about you guys for awhile, but never bothered to check you out until recently. Now I just can't stop listening!

  • @theallmightyham awesome!! thank you so much!

  • Bought the song. LOVE IT.

  • @HellhoundRecords Thank you !!

  • <3 these guys

  • @HeyItsVee96 <3

  • Limp BIZKIT or however the fuck you spell it, this band is super gaaaay.

  • @TheXtraDimensional haha my friend said the same thing

  • Holy shit that drummer....

  • this makes me want to go download this off the pirate bay :p

  • @killjoysxe LOL ROFL LMFAO!

  • @Strayfromthepath HOLY SHIT!! Stray from the path replied to my comment :D This is the most exciting thing that has happened to me all year! I love you guys!

  • 1:25 is when shit starts to go down.

  • Youtube. Facebook. Twitter. Itunes. Yep nothing digital there

  • Oh I think that fapfapfapfapfap

  • nice rage against the machine feel to this song

  • @Lillylovestick I thought that too, haa and they actually have a cover up if I am correct...

  • I actually feel good, because I bought their newest CD at Vintage Vinyl in NJ. Support the bands you love!

  • @evanshreds then buy their fckin merchandise, seeing a band gets less than 1% out of an album sale :P

  • Punk is not dead.

  • Is it just me or did this sound like Rage Against the Machine? Just a tad bit?

  • @lillylovesick I have always thought that. lol, you're not alone.

  • @lillylovesick lol. ive read that people consider SFTP the Rage against the machhine of the new milennium

  • @lillylovesick i can dig it.

  • @lillylovesick yesssss

  • Saw these guys a few weeks ago with oh, sleeper, norma jean and memphis may fire, most intense live band i have EVER seen.

  • i dont usually spot out parts in videos but... 2:26... oooooooooooo!

  • Good shit guys im really digging the vid always represent strong island and the 5 burroughs.-Nick Dipietro

  • i bought rising sun hoping for an original 'alternative hardcore' offering like villians, or maybe even myoh, instead i got a metalcore record with strange sound effects thrown in here and there. it's not bad, but i probably should have just downloaded it. hope they go back to their old sound with their next release.

  • CD's are where its at!!!

  • 19 people went on to pirate this song

  • funny thing about this is that i buy music on itunes and like 2months later i buy it on a music store. i know that im spending more money but thats how things goes here in brazil. cds come much more later than in other countrys. BUT one thing i always do with my friends is listen to the cd in the car as soon as i buy them

  • i now have 154 cds have i downloaded for free yes but i dont like doing it i mean i went online and leagley bought last chance to reson album level 2 and i love it people dont understand o i dont want to pay 13 bucks so i will just dl it for free unless i can not find the album i will not dl it

  • Who does guest vocals at the end?

  • @Oryanize Andrew Neufeld from Comeback Kid

  • @swordsdragonscoke15 Ill be sure and check them out then!

  • love this shit live this shit

  • @KevisSex Thank you Kev!

  • New releases are about 25 american dollars here in Norway, and the record stores hardly sell anything but radio-mainstream crap. feelsbadman.jpg

  • I can't afford to buy your album right now, and I'll be right here on YouTube listening to it until I've got the money for it because I appreciate what you guys do and would never take away from your hard work by stealing from you.

  • @Sonofthemorning97 Thank you so much!

  • hate downloading. love CDs.

  • the morality of this song is fantastic. technology has gone completely out of control far way too much has been taken for granted

  • @butcherscott EXACTLY!!

  • i buy the music i want to buy and support, im not rich enough to pay for every album i want, thanks to spotify, even if i download something and play it on there, the bands still get paid, everything else if i buy, i get it on CD in a store unless i have no way there then itunes, but eventually buy a hard copy!

  • @xTWProductionsx That is fine. Look, I downloaded Deftones - "Diamond Eyes" when it leaked. I downloaded Coldplay - "Mylo Xyloto" when it leaked, just out of way to much excitement. I bought both records the day they were released. I understand sometimes you just need to listen, trust me I do, but there is nothing like a record.

  • @Strayfromthepath i agree!! My favorite band is underoath, which i was VERY honored to see this summer along with you guys ;), but there last album, the CD/DVD combo packaging was SUPERB!!! The booklet, the inside of the CD case was spectacular!! Sometimes you HAVE to get the hardcopy, i love them because i can show off my collection of CD's, which ill have to show my kids and teach them the meaning of music!

  • @xTWProductionsx PERFECT example. They always went above and beyond for the entire experience of their record.

  • This band is alright but all their songs sound too similar, frantic and hectic. GOODTALK

  • How many of you downloaded their record?

    i bought it!
