  • the greatest 4x400m ever.all the girls contributed, its true you cannot write the script.congrates from the pacific islands

  • The third leg for India was incredible.

  • @Mayortwilleger Very nice observation. I watched this 3-4 times but now I closely looked and looks like its only in the third lag that Akunji was able to beat the Nigirean. In the final leg, Kaur did a good job to maintain the lead; not to mention the amazing work done by the first two girls.

  • Dont forget to upload the upcoming Asian Games Relays. I am so rooting for the Indian teams. Men and women.

  • Whenever the name of Delhi CWG 2010 will be taken, you will always be remembered. I don't know what's the magic behind this but you have become the historical face of CW games 2010.

  • It would have been nice to have included a few English songs for the sake of all the International players at the Opening and Closing ceremonies. Check out these Youtube songs.1. PUSSYCAT-MIISSISSIPE..2. ABBA-FERNANDO..3. BONEY M_RIVERS OF BABYLON

  • And they still feel sad when girl child is born in the home

They still kill them in womb,

Shame , Learn from these women,

What an effort, Made all of us proud.

  • One of the most outstanding and inspirational moments of the Delhi Games...it is always uplifting to see an underdog rise up to the occasion to defy all odds!!! More like an 'in your face' kind of expression...Congratulations India!

  • WOOOOHOOO!

  • Bow my head to you girls... This victory is much sweeter than those cricket wins.. Thank you ..

  • Years from now....this will be remembered as a defining moment in Indian sports history.......

  • Jai HIND!

    Jai HINDUSTAN!

    Bharat Mata ki jai!

    Vande Mataram!

  • for those who dont knw n d unenunciated india won gold in the 4x400 m in d last 2 asian games n india was 6th in beijing

  • Do you have any videos of the Village Kitchens and Dining during the games?. It was world class according to foreign food magazines. Import of equipment, staff training including hygiene and food safety was setup and maintained by DELAWARE NORTH of the United States.

  • @aklnj Here's a video posted by a canadian athlete, it shows the training facilities and the dining area in the village /watch?v=0MzZ3tvbdos

  • A great victory for India!. JAI SECULAR INDIA!!.

  • It was about tactics. Having the strongest runner on first leg, to put India in a strong position. Then Jose maintained it and handed over to Akkunji. Who started moderately and then powered in the back straight. Challenged by the English runner she lengthened her strides. Coming into the final bend she was in full flight by then and overtook the Nigerian runner. Mandeep Kaur as last runner had to run fast all the way as she was strongly challenged by the Nigerian who was 400 m hurdles gold.

  • Sad part is these girls will be forgotten in couple weeks and people like Sir Ravinder Jadeja will be remembered for ever. But what an inspirational race this was.

  • @zoomzoomspy dude you need to moderate the comments.. change the settings to require approval for comments and don't let hate speech through... cheers..

  • :):).... i was a volunteer there.. inside the field.. and the best part. i was running along with them aftr the race.. around the ground. u can see me in jeans and the volunteer t shirt :)

  • It's so sad that we didn't even know these wonderful girls' names before the race whereas if it's a cricket match we know their names, their wives names, their playing statistics, their address, their salary, how many cars they have and etc. etc. We really need to get rid of politicians heading sports bodies for years on end like it's their, `baap ka raaz.' (Example in point, Gill and hockey and heaven knows who else!) Why not follow the BCCI and do the same for other sports?

  • These athletes are getting 10,000 to 15000 salaries for their job. Hats of to them, they fight poverty, fight the system to achieve this. Doesn't matter even if they cannot win Olympic medal in athletics. They have made all Indians proud

  • Wow. That got my heart going.

  • As an Indian American, I am very proud of my country in running and competing in a very successful Commonwealth Games. However, I'd be interested in hearing from others why there was such a discrepancy between Indian performance there and other sporting events. There are 2 explanations: 1) home field advantage played a huge part or 2) poorer but talented athletes do not get the funding to go anywhere but India to compete.

  • @caeseroct0 I agree with your second point but not the first. While shooting does the distance get shorter for the hosts?I don't think so.These games are neglected because of lack of public interest. Now that public is interested the sponsors will come in.I believe good days ahead for these sports in India but it still got long way to go.When economy grows sports will grow too.

  • @parthsa Very quickly all the focus is fading away from the Glory that the sportsmen & sportswomen got the Country... Media is now trying improve their TRP's by bringing in more n more spicy news about CWG scandal/probe.

People in India love their Cricket and have neglected most other sporting talent unless such an event comes up. And this event is just a celebration for 2-3wks & its gone

Media has a responsibility towards society which is forgotten & our public cannot think rationally anymore

  • @jsreekanth26 The media these days are paid to broadcast a news. For a clerical post they require a first class graduate but to become an MLA or MP you don't need any education at all.The congress was in power for 50 years, they did not do anything. The BJP was in power for 5 years they also didnt do.Who will do the changes? The naxals or us.Wake up India.

  • @caeseroct0 As another Indian American, I must say that while you are correct, your second reason is wrong. The Athletes from the United Kingdom such as Pearson are olympic gold medalists. There are many other well financed athletes in this race as well. Finally, the time was close to the record time in 1988. Home field advantage, and heavy indian investment in training, were the reasons for this win.

  • am really proud to b an INDIAN....n when i seen this video back heartly....i got happiness tears in my eyes......love u INDIA....lov u INDIANS,,,,,,,really heartcraking video....

  • am really proud to b an INDIAN....n when i seen this video back heartly....i got happiness tears in my eyes......love u INDIA....lov u INDIANS,,,,,,,really heartcraking video....

  • this is my daily dose of inspiration now.....like morning prayer i watch this video in the evening....

  • @ganeshr008 bro i mention only truth(90% indian dont aware).praise every great achiever

  • From the video i can see the time taken per 400 meters is : manjit kaur 50.76 secs sini jose 53.19 secs ashwini 51.05secs and mandeep 52.78 secs. The difference between them is just a matter of one or two seconds.Incredible.I really thought there must be a difference of at least 10 seconds between them. The credit goes to all four equally.

  • Comment removed

  • @Bluesdirections In my opinion its just a matter of difference one or two seconds between athletes.I don't see any one outstanding in the four and i will appreciate them equally. In the video we can see ashwini running faster thats because the other athlete was running slower may be.So its a relative thing. It really hard to say ..."because of this particular girl this race was won'.In this given case.

  • @parthsa ....yes u are right bro.....as far as i know .....first girl among all four is fastest(manjit kaur)...she is national record holder for india....but again this medal is won by all four girls hard work...not just akunji or manjit...overall this 400m relay race in cwg 2010 was best event to watch (i can watch this again and again)...this is a big medal for india , and to win a medal where 70 countries are competing is not an easy task.....good bye to cricket (an over rated sport in india)

  • @zoomzoomspy I agree with you. You know why they bring such talk cause they are idiots and loosers who have nothing good in their life and get no attention. So in order to get attention and feel "important" they start saying things that are just fallacies. To the loners, I apologize if my words were a bit harsh, but honestly you complainers and whiners need to go to ____ (i apologize again for not cursing or finishing the sentence. I hope i didn't disappoint anyone)

  • @zoomzoomspy hey bro can you post the nigerian and australian women wheel chair table tennis final moments especially after the nigerian won..It was so touching and the commentator also cried. Its unfortunate no one posted it here.

  • @parthsa, wow, would love to see that.

  • The prettiest gal here is Mandeep Kaur .I don't want to marry her and eat capati every day.The Boxer Manoj Kumar will be a nice match for her.Hope they get together.Just a joke...lolx

  • @TheRaawan . how could they be "curry pussies" when they came first here dip shit. I guess you didn't get the term 'under dog'.

  • Was inside the stadium in this event as a volunteer, watching them finishing the line in the lead and the ultimate CWG 4x400 Relay Champion, was so overwhelmed that I forgot my role and start to jump around as a kid, cheering for them.It was such a proud moment.Hat off girls...jai hind!!!!

  • India shining and changing...i am proud of these girls.......

  • Hey, anyone know where one can find a video of Ashish Kumar doing his silver medal winning vault routine? First Indian to win a bronze and a silver in gymnastics! Now that's history. His coach says he achieved this much with 1 year of training on 20 year old equipment. Talk about heroes! And now his Federation isn't even sending him to the World Chamoionships next week. Bureaucrat bastards!

  • LOL What happened at 1:42?? Looks like she got some nitrous boost.

  • yes the second last girl was terrific as she started to lead frm nigeria but ofcourse all four have an equal share in winning becos unity brought them to the peak...

  • @georgedublin Yes it was a team effort - All of them count - the first runner looked nowhere when in the end she got to second position, the second runner kept the posn that is she beat all the others, it was a team effort - The sequence in which they ran was for a reason - fantastic work

  • Great...Now we can move on from here to the Great Glory of Olympic......C'mon India...They Really make INDIA Proud....

  • 2,00,000 views..:) awesome performance...waiting to see gold in Olympics

  • Brilliant!!! Watched this video over and over again. Have been waiting many years for a moment like this and yes, I cried too...not ashamed to say that. These women have inspired a generation of athletes.

  • Awesome performance. I am in tears as well :)

    all kudos to them..

Respect to all other runners from other countries.

  • yeah ,,,nice for them ,,just like the commentator say ,,where did they come from ,,,awesome !

  • i was present at the stadium during this race, and the atmosphere from the start of the race to the finish can't be described in words. and the playing of VANDE MATARAM after the winning was just icing on the cake. one person who was sitting behind me said emotionally almost crying "I LOVE MY INDIA". Hope India can carry this form to the olmpics

  • The two persons who clicked the dislike buttons are Osama bin laden and his assistant al jawahiri.

  • this is the best you can ever get...relay is the best event in atheltics as i have been part of many and i am very proud of these gals..

  • India defeats Nigeria, England, Scotland, Australia, Canada and Botswana in one shot in 3 minutes 22 secs 77 milliseconds.

  • Never expected that the world's simplest sport Running could be so thrilling and exciting. We are more used to complex sports like cricket, tennis, football but the beauty of this sport is in it's simplicity.

  • what a thrilling race.... wish and hope we improve further and target olympics.... Proud of u all.

  • No one can stop INDIA. I changed from a "hyped-India" "India shining" basher to true believer that we can do better. Bit by bit we do and we change us, our country our people.

And yes! a "thumbs up" also matters and does changes the perception!

A "thumbs up" can bring a ray of hope to a fellow Indian who has no hopes on India.

    Together we stand..Divided we Fall..

  • @bambasur Inspired words my good man.

  • @Bluesdirections thanks mate :)

    PEACE

  • Wow I am in tears... Amazing...

  • Wow I am tears.... Amazing

  • This makes every Indian proud. Thanks to these girls. We have a lot of talents in India. Hope the talent of such players doesn't get caught in politics, during the team/player selection, before reaching to this point.

  • They have taken into new dimension, bravo you brought us pride bravo

  • congrats girlss, feeling very happy....

  • From BBC: For those of us at the JN Stadium, nothing could beat the deafening noise of India's 4x400m relay team - Manjeet Kaur, Sini Jose, Ashwini Chidananda Akkunji and Mandeep Kaur - coming home to take a shock gold.

It was louder than Beijing's Bird's Nest ever was, louder too than even Berlin during Usain Bolt's comparatively greater achievements during last summer's World Championships.

  • wow...really proud of these young indian women..go team india go!!!!!

  • The Nigerian who were competing in the second place, have failed the drug test..!

  • Great going girls. I got goose bumps watching this. You have really made us proud. Don't stop here. Go for more.

  • This is the best gold india won in this commonwealth games. It was the toughest so is the best. Better than other Gold medals that india won as it takes hard in running in athletics relays. HOPE THEY WILL BEAT THE RECORD IN TIME TO COME.

  • wonderful stuff. Its really tough to beat Africans in these types of games in Olympics. The smart move by our government will be to focus on aquatics where there is a lot of medals to be given away. From seeing the dedication of the girls in this video I feel we can do athletics too but we have to work smart if we want more medals in Olympics.
