  • Woo Hoo. great show. Drive was robbed, Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, Tin Tin all got robbed

Love your guys videos. Thanks for the suggestions for my consequences btw. I really appreciate it.

  • DRIVE WAS ROBBED

  • Moneyball, Alexander Payne, George Clooney, Rooney Mara, Nick Nolte, Berenice Bejo

  • Great video as usual! The nominees this year are particularly dull and I agree with you that Drive should have been nominated for Picture. I think the bigger omission is Refn for Director though. I also think Shame should have been nominated for Picture and Director. My picks would be:

    Picture: The Tree of Life

    Director: Terrence Malick

    Actor: Gary Oldman

    Actress: Michelle Williams

    Supporting Actor: Nick Nolte

P.S. The two of you should give your screenplay and cinematography picks as well.

  • Great pics and putting on your fine clothing was a fun idea. What is it I hear about Lars von Trier and a nazi thing?

  • @Trencher1375 At Cannes, Von Trier said something like he sympathised with Hitler.

  • mmmmm very interesting picks Gab and Dad! :) ... personally i am not into the Oscars as much, as my tastes are more into the Foreign stuff, but i still think the Oscars is always interesting to watch. Not sure who will take home the cake, but we will see if your tastes are matched by those in higher places ... although i think you guys are more sensible than some of the people on the judging pannel for the Oscars :) As always, awesome video guys!

  • My picks would be:

    Picture: Moneyball

    Director: Martin Scorsese

    Actor: Brad Pitt

    Actress: Rooney Mara

    Supporting Actor: Nick Nolte

    Supporting Actress: Melissa McCarthy

    Good watch as always!

  • As always, great job, Gab & Dad!

Could the fact Melancolia got snubbed be due to its extremely depressing subject? All in all, as great and bold of a movie Melancolia was, it's a tough movie to "enjoy" and my guess is that may have had something to do with it.

  • Thank goodness no one mentioned Extremely Loud. Enjoyed watching this, lots of fun.

  • Real interesting picks you guys!! Haha, yay for Plummer!! He is a great actor. I have to check out Beginners sometime. Good to see The Artist getting some love. That one looks like a winner. Scorsese is always great, I have to check out HUGO also. Yeah, is agree the picks the academy have this year are kinda boring. lol (No Drive? WTF? Another movie I have to see. Man, I need to catch up! lol)

  • @McAllisterMediaCorp If you only catch up on one, catch up on Drive!

  • @GabnDad Oh yes, absolutely!!

  • I haven't seen all the nominees so I'm just going with my gut and from what I've read and seen myself. My picks: Best Picture: The Tree of Life

    Best Director: Terrence Malick

    Best Actor: George Clooney

    Best Actress: Viola Davis

    Best Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer

    Best Supporting Actress: Octavia Spencer

  • Completely agree that the nominations are quite boring this year. Would have been far more interesting if the Academy nominated more bold and relevant actors and films. I think we all know who and what those are . . . Anyway, good picks. :)

  • @RullyisJRM Seriously - expanding the Best Picture category should be allowing for a much edgier offering than there is this year... FAIL!

  • Great video, I'm glad you guys like The Tree of Life. While I feel it has no chance of winning I agree in years it will be talked about. I still need to see Melancholia though.

  • i would like to see tree of life win best pic and director. i want tilda swinton to win best actress but she aint there so... ill say glenn close. best actor id give to brad pitt (havnt see the descendants yet but im sure ill love it) supporting actor for me should go to nick nolte but i wouldnt mind christopher plummer winning, he deserves it. supporting actress i think should go to anjelica huston for 50/50 but she was snubbed so... bejo for the artist or octavia spencer in the help.

  • Nice video guys, some interesting choices! So many films i enjoyed missed out on Best picture nominations, namely Senna, 50/50 and Drive, but also films like Win Win, The Guard and Submarine i think should have got some recognition in at least a category or two.

  • @zippypatr I LOVED submarine. Such a good film. Not many people saw it, though.

  • Nice. (I am aware it's first comment.)
