  • @RichardMBeaverII A-fucking-men.

  • This is what American Spirit's are for.

  • Cigarettes today suck, ive been smoking for 20 years since i was 13, and the FSC is garbage. Might as well quit.

  • My humble hypothesis is this: Because of how microwaves work (heating up water), and by the properties of FSC materials (they are designed to resist heat in order to slow burning) you are mos likely just evaporating any moisture in the tobacco (drying it out) so that it burns faster, hotter, and longer.

  • i tried it with 1 cigarette the tobacco just seemed dryer but it did taste better but im most likely not gonna do this again because it might put radiation in u dont need lung cancer faster im just gonna go with american spirit perique blend or whatever its called and stop smoking marlboro reds

  • This certainly wont work. The FSC is contained IN the paper. It's like carpet glue and nuking it won't change that fact. I imagine it would make it worse, because now its been exposed to extreme heat and radiation! and then you light it on fire and inhale the fumes? it cant' possibly be better, or a solution. IMO

    .

  • lol just roll your own cigarettes.. saves money and no FSC ..the black Top-O-Matic Cigarette Rolling machine works great..

  • American spirit is non FSC tubes!

  • @Mattystew17 no it is not. look at the box, it says FSC near the barcode. still a good cig though, they use seaweed instead of glue for the fsc tube

  • Try American Spirits

  • i just buy smokes that don`t have that chemical in them and yes i go to a place called tobacco Road and its a paper band that is in the paper...

  • Reppin Michigan, woo!

  • This must mean right that Weed is now better than Nicotine right??

  • Even though it now wont go out with the microwave, does it still taste like shit?

  • Online, well there are three stores dedicated to ecigs in my general area. Though I'm in a major city, and that isnt the norm.

However your right I do most of my shopping online...but I do most of my shopping for everything online anyway.

One difference with ecigs, your right about is you do have to plan ahead this isnt a scrap together change from the couch and running to the store at 2am anymore kinda thing. Cant say I miss that "convenience" :)

  • Na same addiction, just a different delivery method. Nicotine is still nicotine.

Except I can breath..I dont smell, I can smell and taste and arnt putting poisons in myself 40 times a day.

Expense: I spent about a 150.00 a month on cigs. Now it averages out about 50 a month on ejuice and grabbing a new batteries/atties once in a while.(few people do the prefilled cartos btw) Ecigs have the huge advantage of no special taxes though that isnt likely going to last forever.

  • Screw the FDA, screw cigs, screw having to removed the fire safe crap from them.....Switch to ecigs they do work! (just research first please) e-cigarette-forum com

  • @TheUntamedrose E cigs suck switch to make your own.

  • @MUSICALGUNNUT45 Na..just dont buy the crap Chinese models from the malls lol. I was a two pack a day smoker, quit a year and half ago with ecigs. I use a GLV2 5v's with most juice from backwoodbrews.....all USA made :D and no I'm not an affiliate of those companies. Check out the simi link I posted above around 70k members on that site talking about all the different types.

  • @TheUntamedrose The only use I have for e cigs is if your somewhere that dosen't allow regular cigarettes. and even then id prefer snus or chewing tobacco to deliver the niccotine. Outside that there is just no comparison or substitute to the taste of good quality tobacco. personally I think that e cigs are just a fad and I can see from all my travels over the past year and a half and just by looking around my own town that they are not catching on as well as people thought they would.

  • @MUSICALGUNNUT45 Shrug it's your health, personally I like to befits of Nic, with out the other side effects. But it's really up to you to choose to use them or not. Perhaps your just to young to have felt to effects of tobacco yet, give it a few more years.

As to a fad, really dont think so...not based on the growth this industry has seen and the success rates for those quitting(somewhere between 60 to 80% based on studies in 5 different countries VS 2% for other NRT like the gum or patch

  • @TheUntamedrose I'd say that the success rates might be true but like i said, I've been to many different cities and towns over the past year and I have only seen one person smoking an e cig in all those travels. so they don't seem to be catching on in my neck of the woods or anywhere else I've been. And they may help you quit smoking cigarettes but then you have to deal with a new addiction thats probably even more expensive than cigarettes and have the inconvience of ordering cartridges online

  • Had no idea americans are struggling with that so long already. It recently came to belgium. WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY DOING TO OUR CIGARETTES? It's awful. I started rolling my own cigarettes again, much better - and less headache...

  • This fsc bullshit is a misconception. Instead, it is simply the water being evaporated by the microwaves, therefore the cigarette is merely drier, burning faster

  • just ROLLL YE OWN!!

  • I tried this the other day and it didn't work. I stood it up on the table and let it burn to where the FSC strip "was" and it self-extinguished. Oh well.

  • yeah so it gets your food all dicked up..

  • Inhale radiotion :p

  • gentlemen

  • Just tried this.

    Cigarette used: Lucky Strike Unfiltered

    1st time: 30 seconds.

Worked. Cigarette was kind of dry but definitely couldnt feel the burn in the throat from FSC chemicals. Set on a table, and remains burned all the way through until there was only ash left behind.

Then, I smoked an unmicrowaved cigarette. Taste was different. It left tobacco and paper behind after it burned out.

HOWEVER, the 2nd time I microwaved a cigarette, it burst into flames. So I dont recommend doing this.

  • @ILessThan3ToJizz420 Well, exploding cigarettes are kinda cool; I mean, that's like two awesome things combined! Explosions and cigarettes! So either way, you're getting something enjoyable; either a cigarette, or explosions and cigarettes at the same time

  • why not throw the whole pack into the oven at 200 degrees? microwaves can cause free radicals

  • @fawkUtube 325 degrees for 5 minutes rotate after 2.5 minutes and make sure they are out of the pack and placed on a thin cookie sheet or sheet of aluminum foil ... stand back when you open the oven it causes my eyes to Burn like shit

  • You sirs are some fucking genius'! I Wikip'd up EVA and found it burns away at a low/high temp, about 120-160 F. This method you have worked for me, and brought a little flavor back, though they lace the inside of the paper with FSC too so theirs probably still some present. But your method definitely helped!!

  • with all the profits and tax revenue they generate from cigs why would they want people to stop, they make money from people smoking, and they make money when people quit, why would they end this?

  • @fromthelandofozz Sooner you realize they want to kill the dollar the sooner EVERYTHING will make sense.... trillion dollar bailouts lead to printing trillions of dollars which leads to death of america as we know it. Our GDP can no longer pay the interest on what we owe in short the dollar is dead thanks obama. Taxes from tobacco is what built this country without it... it wouldnt exist and the powers that be know this.

  • I figure what's the point of starting RYO if this happens later on down the road. It's not worth the headaches (literately).

  • The microwave trick makes the cigarette burn faster, but it does NOTHING for the horrible FSC taste. I tried it once after watching this video and almost puked. I'm done smoking. I took my full pack, crushed it in my hand, stepped on it a few times, and tossed it in the trash. That's it for me. I'd try RYO but the people at the local tobacco shop said they (the Government) are pushing for FSC in rolling paper and also the loose tobacco.

  • Yuu have to ask yourself: what happens to the chemicals from the paper when you microwave the cigarette?

  • DUDE your dumb sorry the adhesive they use just melted into the ciggerete. its actualy probably worse so yea your still smoking the chemez T_T peace

  • But it completely drys the cigarette out.

  • I just tried this and it really works. I know because i couldn't even take a puff without getting really sick and feeling like shit. Now i can smoke a whole cigarette and feel perfectly ok. And it tastes better too!

  • I hope you guys don't get fired for misuse of company payroll time.

what does the microwave do to the filter if any..

  • the copper taste is actually 2 kinds of aluminum (toxic if inhaled ) and vinyl acetate...(the epa reguards this as 'will cause irritation if burned' and when you get sick, what are you going to say.... it 's from smoking???

they will laugh.. "of course smoking is bad for you" "we've been saying that for years" so they slowly make it worse. AMERICA WANTS OUR CIGERETTES BACK

    !!!!

  • Well, I microwaved it for 30 sec. then smoked it. It kept a full tip of fire (the treated ones just burned short and gray. It made a steady stream of smoke (the treated ones appeared smokeless sometimes). Would love to have them tested and compare the chemicals. Thanks for the neat video.

  • Just microwave your entire pack of cigs one by one, and you can put them back in the pack like nothing and go on with your business not hard.

  • sorry me bad

  • can you do this in the pack????

  • that shit does'nt work I put one in the micrwave 30 seconds ,that shit got on fire right in the middle, it was like if I had put metal inside. You fuck hole you made me waste a cigarette. Don't try.

  • Wow this actually works!!!! tried it on marlboro and basics and they both burned all the way through without stopping from the FSC. Get the word out to stop this stupid gov't shit.

  • ill just carry a microwave around

  • where are you in michigan?

  • all you are doing is drying the tobacco more genius :P

  • @1freedomfighter11 pretty sure your right...those bands hold some of the moisture that comes from smoking the tobacco..if there is no moisture its probally harder for the cig to go out

  • FSC Cigarette Complaint Line:

    1-518-772-5527

DO NOT: Leave a call back number

List the physical symptoms that FSC Cigarettes have caused you. Tell your story if you wish. How did you find out FSC Cigarettes are what were making you sick?

IMPORTANT: Your message is being recorded and maybe used in an up coming audio CD that will be sold on amazon and target stores to inform the public of FSC Cigarettes.

  • ha i have that exact cigarette

  • it started on fire and made plasma...

  • microwaves and cigarettes great idea bro

  • How about instead of crying on youtube posts all of you send letters and emails to your state senators and senators and tell them to research this.... they did pass the law... and they are the only people who can repeal it... i think all we need is one state to do it before other states will follow... sending an email to them takes minutes... i have twice, CMON PEOPLE! Innocent lives are at risk.

  • As I type, I've got my first 30 second/high Camel Light (whoops, I mean Camel BLUE... the tobacco co.'s can't use the term "Lights" anymore) happily burning away... so far no slowing down - outta sight!! Here we go, into the final quarter... looks good... AND THE RESULTS ARE IN: You guys rock, I'm sincere!! THANKS!!!

  • @TheOrganiston9th They can't use "lights" anymore? I've seen some recently that had "lights" on them.

  • @MarionetteKazuko It may depend on where you are... but here it is 3 months since I posted that comment, and I haven't seen a "Lights" pack since then. Well, maybe 1 or 2 as the store's stock ran down... actually, THAT could be why you're still seeing packs with "Lights" on them!

  • @TheOrganiston9th Hmm perhaps, but these gas stations are small so they don't have much inventory space in back, then again they could be getting them straight from the companies that still have stocks of lights, so ur probably right. =)

  • @MarionetteKazuko FSC cigarettes has to be one of the silliest laws yet... and they probably wouldn't prevent a fire anyway! I haven't had any strange physical effects, but I can't stand re-lighting=(. They seem to me to be more or less like the others as far as taste goes but they're SO annoying! This microwaving for 30 secs. on high does seem to help though. But who wants to do that before every smoke??

  • @MarionetteKazuko He's absolutely right. My store goes through...about 25-30 cartons of Marlboro "Gold" (a.k.a. lights) a day. We buy 4 or 5 cases a week (1 case = 30 cartons), and for a while we were seeing "Gold" and "Light". Sometimes, I still see Marlboro Ultra Lights instead of "Silver". Last time we had 4 cartons of Ultra Lights, and some lady came in and bought ALL of them. She didn't want the "Silver" ones, but the ultra lights. Strange, I know...

  • I tried this, and it made the whole cigarette taste like FSC instead of just the spots where the FSC is.

Normally when i get to the FSC spot i burn it off with a lighter. Ironically the fumes from the FSC are flamable and hold a flame.

  • The easiest way to make them smokable, and to burn with a hot cherry is to start at the filter and squeeze them as you roll toward the tobacco end. You can hear the cracking sound produced by the adhesive that they use to bond the tobacco and restrict the air flow - it dosen't remove the aftertaste though, and is less effective as it approaches the filter as a result of the chemical buildup.

  • FSC or fire safe cigarette laws were passed state by state using deception and misinformation. FSC cigarettes greatly increase health risks for smokers. Smoking-related fires have actually increased for smokers in New York, the first state to pass the law. Do a search for Huffington Post by Rebecca Brooks.

  • The microwave dries the tobacco enough so the fire overwhelms the FSC band. I left an FSC on my dashboard for 2 days it it smoked like a NON FSC.

  • @gruvens THANK YOU!

    YOU SOLVED THE PROBLEM!

phew! im sooo glad to know it can be overcomed.

  • I tried this but they still burn the hell out of my throat. I guess the chemicals are not microwaved out. I'll have to roll my own. I have smoked 3 FSC in a row and I fell like I just smoked 3 cartons.

  • what a waste of a nice non FSC cig..

  • Wouldn't this leave the EVA from the cigarette in your microwave?

  • smoked a couple just yesterday during and after rolling . those bastards made me sick.

  • fsc taste like shit

  • @ThinkGreenSmokeBud Best username ever.

  • How odd

  • it doesn't add anymore risk of radiation than microwaved food does...

  • work better on marlboro 72's im actully suprised that this works lol

  • It still probably wouldnt take away the fact that FSC cigs make you feel like shit. And they also probably still taste like crap. non FSC or E-cig is the way i go. FSC is a valid reason to quit. FUCK YOU!!! CARPET GLUE!!! hey thats catchy! FUCK YOU CARPET GLUE!

  • I agree, this adds another health risk- radiation

  • Microwaves are just that MICROWAVES it emits MICROWAVES not radiation go back to school idiot.

  • @HillbillyStudio Last time I checked

    microwaves are radiation jackass

  • @motallero idiot..

  • DOUCHEBAG

  • Sorry for trying to spread knowledge

  • The Dangers of Microwave Radiation

    Microwave Radiation Dangers

    Are Microwave Ovens Safe?

There has long been concern about the safety of microwave ovens. The results of some of these studies may alarm you. As you read about some of the radiation dangers associated with microwaves, you may wonder whether microwave ovens may not be safe after all, and why they are not discouraged more by the government. globalhealingcenter . com/microwave-radiation.html

  • @motallero microwave ovens emit radio waves at a constant frequency.

the waves bounce water molecules and so heat them.

    trust me its all safe.

if it wasnt, would they be sold globally?

  • @motallero Microwaves are in the non-ionizing range of electromagnetic radiation. Non-ionizing radiation is very different from Ionizing radiation . Ionizing radiation is very high in frequency (millions of trillions of cycles per second). It is, therefore, extremely powerful and penetrating. Ionizing radiation is the sort of radiation we associate with radioactive substances like uranium, radium, and the fall-out from atomic and thermonuclear explosions.i take it you flunked science in school.

  • @HillbillyStudio Actually I was Valedictorian. I never said anything about the level of radiation a microwave emits or it being a nuclear weapon lol , merely that radiation is what cooks and alters the molecular structure of whatever you decide to put in there.

  • Nice work! will try this out!

  • Tried it yesterday, did one for 20 seconds and one for 30 seconds. 30 second one went extremely well(!), and a 20 second one worked better than I expected, but slowed down a little bit(not completely) when it hit 3rd speed bump of my cigarette.

Now gonna try heating some for 25 seconds tomorrow when I smoke again, to see how they do vs. 30 seconds. Keep thinking you could probably get away by doing this for 22-25 secs, but will post my results later whenever I have time to write them up here.

  • Smoked another one today that I microwaved for 20 seconds, and interestingly it didn't slow down at all. Maybe the secret is to always microwave them for 22-25 seconds, just to ensure the last of the EVA within the paper that causes them to be FSC is worn down!

  • Vid is right, it at least keeps the smoke from dying off. The flavor still seems lacking to me but at least it doesn't taste like shit anymore. I just hope that I get rid of this copper taste in my mouth now

  • nice, how does it taste though? That is my biggest problem with fsc. I have 5 cartons of non fsc winston lights i found at a mom and pop tobacco store, and I will probably go back and buy the rest of them so I never have to smoke this crap.

  • sorry about the sound.... i recorded it on my phone lol
