  • Like a twix moment

  • Vats only seems to exist so that it is easier tp shoot mr.scary in the head

  • no. in the fallout universe, culturally society progressed to about the, 1950's and stopped because it was seen as, patriotic, ideal much like how society was seen in the real world only in ours we didn't stop we carried on. the fallout universe you could say is what people in the 40's and 50's thought the future would be. i.e tech is big and bulky, nuclear etc. it came to an end in 2077. it's not just the usa but the whole world etc too

  • I never use VATS =D

  • V.A.T.S

    Very

    Awesome

    Targeting

    System

  • Looks like I'm going to need ap in the future

  • lol hey umm chinese dude im using vats so u need to stand still

  • @Fallout3boy2077 oh ok

  • why dont any of the tv work??...I WANT MY TV PORN

  • So the people of retrofuturism can invent a time-stopping targeting system, but not color television?

Haha its all good though, I love the retroness of fallout :)

  • @superanimefan275 In Fallout universe, they never discovered semiconductors, and had to stick with transistors. That only explains the shitty computers they have though. I'm still not sure about the color televisions.

  • Rather have a plasma rifle rather than a plasma TV ...

  • @Meficrow amen

  • Chance of practicality in real-life (without time-stopping capability) = 0%

  • So many stupid questions... If you ignored the entire plot of the game at least use Google.

  • @DaRebel21

if you actually read the story behind the games, you'd know the world went in favour of nuclear power instead of transistors and semiconductors, after WWII. Which is why the game has a 50's theme, it's also why they have clunky ass computer terminals, and fission batteries.

  • @DaRebel21 we had robots vaults and even nuclear bombs when there was black and white tvs

  • @DaRebel21

You forgot the energy weapons, and that they are in 2077 (or more i think) and they dont have the color tvs, but maybe because of the nuclear effect wich created an emp wich overloaded the modern tvs and made them blow up, or they are simply too stupid like t create colored tvs

  • if this add was made in like 2077 why is is like a 1980 commersial

  • @xxxGamesBondxxx 1980 commercials had colour....

  • @Crackerkiller5 oh i dont know when commercials had colour it was just a guess

  • Its because of the hippies, making us spend millions on idiotic things like protecting a single tree with a dozen tanks

  • @DaRebel21 XD LOL

  • they can invent robots, pipboys, armors and stuff but coundt invent color tvs and pcs that run a game

  • @lazorize That's because in the fallout universe the government spend all their money on military rather than on entertainment.

  • @CorRomeister totally

  • @iamraveneight A point worth noting - vacuum tubes have issues when used at high frequencies, the colour component on analogue tvs is produced using a high frequency component added to what would otherwise be a very low frequency waveform (this by the way is how a colour broadcast is to this day able to be viewed in monochrome on a black and white TV set)

  • wtf whats with him puting his hand in his pocket o.O

  • @alphameep To turn off the camera.

  • Mr.Scary seem to have went away :D

  • If fallout was modern I think it would suck.

  • I have a question, now maybe my Fallout lore isn't up to speed but, why are the commericals made in a 1940's style? The latest technologies should be around just before the bombs dropped, I think 2070 or so? You'd think there'd be modern commercials in that era. I do admit the 40's style theme to everything is pretty hilarious :)

  • @blumac81 the reason they make the fallout games 50ish style is because they made the game how the people in the 50s thought the world would be like, robots that serve you, aliens, lazer guns and all that stuff. so they kept all the 50s things like tvs being black and white and radio main entertainment, there is even a fallout wiki page explaining this if you want to learn more

  • Retro-Futurism 'nuff said

    (look it up) ^.^

  • If they have laser guns and robots, why do they have a black and white TVs? Lolol

  • @EvilZebra333 Because everything is still in a 40-50's style.

  • @DaRebel21 maybe they were completly focused on weapon development that they didn't have time to develop it

  • I was totally waiting for his head to explode for some reason. It would have bee the perfect moment when he was just smiling after he re-said what vats meant.

  • can some one answer this question i don't understand why does fallout play classical music and look like the 60's shouldnt it be bit more modern like more modern clothes music guns but then again the classical stuff adds to fallout

  • @tearsofdespair1 The Fallout games are based off of a book written in 1946, & the author's interpretation of what the future might be like. Also, much of the music is from the 40's & 50's.

  • @Nanomaster828 thanxs did not know that

  • @tearsofdespair1 Uhhh... If you read the instrustions of Fallout 3 it says in there... It says after WWII, the timeline splits into ours and then the fallout timeline. Where technology progressed at a much faster rate but American society was locked in the cultural norm of the 1950's. That's why all the 50's and earlier music was played. And why Three Dog doesn't know what a disc is.

  • I like all of their acronims.

  • if only in the modern day fallout games you were allowed to shoot people in the groin just like the old ones cause i REALLY wanna kick ceaser in the sack

  • mr scary is my teachers say goodby

  • wait how can time stops?

  • Wtf i cant Enter the site no more no entry Wtf

  • Funny how i always miss in V.A.T.S

  • They should have a 10 second limits

  • @grimreaper5891

    I agree

  • i thougt it stood for vault automated targeting system

  • Who'se the actor in this ad?

  • am i the only one that spams v.a.t.s?

  • amazing they have timestopping targetting devices and power armor but no color lol

  • Since when did Youtube comments become so utterly retarded. I mean, they have allways been a little. But god damn...

  • 2 people are absolutley ego shooters

  • I used my V.A.T.S. on an attractive chick, and it said I had a 0% chance to hit that.

  • @tylermcki44 That is because you see them girls as "chick(s)" that's why.

  • @tylermcki44 HA

  • @tylermcki44 Please post something original.

  • @Midflame222 Please shut the fuck up.

  • I've curiosity in one thing... anyone knows the name of the man in this Advertisement?

  • Lol they don't really care that it freezes time :P

  • woah was he goin to jerk off at end ?

  • "Personal Defence" my ass, I use it to attack people

  • Was I the only one who fell asleep whilst watching this video? Don't get me wrong! I love this game, but the video was kinda relaxing...

  • If this happened in the future, why is it black and white??????

  • Say hello to VATS and say goodbye to punk ass raiders. (smile)

  • what would happen if two people V.A.T.S each other

  • @staz213 I guess its whoever dies first

  • The scary part is that this attitude of paranoia isn't too far off from the truth of what the 1950's were like with the same military industrial complex we have today. O_o

  • What ever happened to this guy after the war, if he knew that vaults were completely evil experiments???

  • If this is supposed to be the future? why the 1950's treatment?

  • @Raneko It has to do with the storyline of the Fallout universe. After WWII the Fallout universe diverged ftom our own. They developed better technology in things like the mass production of robotics for home use, and advances in nuclear power, but severlt lagged behind in things like cumputer science and electornics miniturization. For this reason things like PC's and television technology never advanced much beyond 1950's era tech.

  • @simpsonfan13 Well said. I often try to explain the Fallout universe to people and they fail to fully comprehend... this is a good way to describe it.

  • @Raneko we'll go back to the old days in the future

  • It makes Mr. Scary go away.....

    Gods I love that XD

  • thumbs up if at 0:57 the thing hes pointing at looks like a weiner

  • V.A.T.S make mr scary go away this means i can take on the centaurs now???

  • so if this was made in 2077 why does everything look like it was made in the 60's >.>

  • @bluepickle15 Fallout takes place on an alternate development timeline - certain technologies were never developed or developed much later than in our world. Also, cats are extinct.

  • @NutNapalm I do not follow, im talking about the black and white screen televisions and such.

Also the music that was from the 50s.

All of this supposedly in pre-war times (2077)

  • @bluepickle15 Because Pre-War Fallout took place in the future as imagined by 1940-50s America. Look at old sci-fi or any kind of predictions for the future, and you'll find that, much like we even do today, most of "the future" was exactly like then-current times just with significantly advanced technologies. That's why the music and most of the fashion is the same or incredibly similar. It's not a possible future, but one based on the fictional ideals of people in the real past.

  • @bluepickle15 actually it takes place in 2277 ive read the dates

  • @TheGamehelper112 He's technically right. This video would be from 2077, as it's dated before the Great War. Yes, the Fallout games take place in the late 2200s, but that's 200 years after the bombs fell.

  • @TheGamehelper112 Yea, but this technology was invented in 2077, before the war.

Besides, thats almost 200 years later, proving my point anyway >.>

  • Makes Mister Scary go away?!?!?! I just found my childs next christmas present :D

  • and makes "mr. scary" *BOOM!* go away.

  • heheh "and makes mr. Scary go away"

  • You Delay A Lot !!! at 1:19 Head 95% who want a Fat Man??

  • VATS --> allowing you to fight behemoths without taking damage since 2277

  • Mr. Scary?!?! O.o That doesn't sound right...

  • imagine :

hey billy mays here with V.A.T.S. !!!

  • @razorniels Just grab your weapon aim for a pin point and KA BOOOM you got a dead person whos wife you've to explain his death to

  • @razorniels Oh god.

  • @razorniels dude he's dead now so it would be sulliie or however you spell his name

  • @razorniels pip boy woud look better :D

  • @razorniels I miss Billy :(

  • @pratttan me too :(

  • @razorniels lol

  • I wish this worked in real life.

God would I love to falcon punch the hall monitors in my school...

  • If this is supposed to be in the future, why is it in black and white? xD

  • @AlexanderAnswers

this alternate future has an american culture very much like the fifties culture

  • @AlexanderAnswers The Fallout universes time line forks off from our own during the 1950's. Society and culture remain locked in the standards of 1950's Americana while technology simply advances along what was being used back then. The whole idea is that the "world of tomorrow" that was promised in the 50's and 60's is what that universe actually becomes in the early half of the 21st century.

Until humanity nukes itself to shit, that is.

  • MUST......GET.....VATS NOW

  • wait so they have the tchnology to slow time down for you, but they still only have black and white tv and projectors? (and yes i know its 1950's style but they could of least gotten colour.)

  • @zionjt Basically, even the improvements in technology done in the Fallout Universe all used the parts generally available in the 1950's. So they never discovered integrated circuits for example, thus the vacuum tube 'computer chips' they use. So they probably never felt a need to discover color pixel technology, also explaining why all the computers in FO3 are monochrome green.

  • i want that pointer. i mean it made "Mr. Scary's" head blow up

  • Makes mister scary go away.

  • Mr. Scary didn't go away D:

  • lol makes the scaries-(blown of head) go away

  • you remeber my name?need a moment? then use v.a.t.s instend of sneckers

  • i hate how bethesda removed targeting the groin and eyes in V.A.T.S.

  • *Head blown*

    "And makes Mr.Scary go away"

  • 2 people are mr scary

  • Its a advanced targeting system but they cant even target male genitals hey that is worse then being decapitated

  • this didnt say anything about shooting point blank at a wall

    false advertising

  • whear do i sing lol

  • Anyone else think this guy is like an evil creepy mr. Rogers?

  • im very good at making mr. scary go away

  • a video in side a video inside a video?

  • No, actually VATS serves as a protocol that all combatants must comply with. Whenever a combatant uses the VATS, his opponent must stop moving and wait for his shot. After that, the combat resumes. It's almost like the Genneva Convention.

  • @white000bear hahahaha ur soo right, i could see someone trying this on the streets!

    thug: give me your money!

victim: hold on (activates vats) ok now stand still please

thug stabs victim and robs him/her

  • @white000bear You sir are a fucking dumbass. Why would raiders who have never heard of V.A.T.S comply with you just like the "Genneva Convention" as you call it?

  • @MrAsshole96 ffs he was joking. you really couldn't tell?

  • @white000bear uh no its freezes granades so it freezes like slow motion how the fuck can the enemy pause the granade dick

  • @lawleyviewfarm its a joke dumb ass stop trolling your just sad you did'nt get in the highest rated coments and don't say "nether did you" because I am on a NV video

  • @white000bear Geneva*

  • @white000bear tell that to the german army during world war 2 and they'd blitzkrieg right through you lol.

  • so there saying they have the power to freeze time and let u think?

  • Vault Boy = First V.A.T.S. victim

  • He touched his cock when he said "Pesonal defense is a snap.." 0_0

  • @DXSXDXSXD lol late response,I actually weared a skirt on top of my pants one day, because I did that stupid thing some guys at my school are actually considering doing this, weird and gay lol :S

  • Lol.

Vault Boy < X_X Vault Boy

  • If we aren't born in a Vault in New Vegas, why do we have V.A.T.S. or Pip-Boys?

  • @Zzarch the did confirm that someone is going to give you a pip-boy as soon as you start the game

  • @Zzarch this dude feels bad for you because you have all these unwanted holes in your head and hes like "here!" and throws a pipboy at you.

  • If it's Tomorrow's Technology Today, then where the hell is color TV?!!

  • at the end of the video he put his hand in his pants fast

  • gosh that cant go wrong...

  • 0:55 Epic.

  • I love how Bethesda made these videos.

  • ...and make mr. scary go away...

  • DOES ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THE PENIS IN THE BLOBS WHERE THE HEAD AXPLODED!?!

  • @lemming171 no cause we dont have sick minds... xD

  • @vinnymotherfuker hehehe, its called boredum :P

  • @lemming171 lol

  • if you read the description in the fallout 3 manual, it says that the people got stuck in the 50's lifestyle ;)

  • ... Pause for a moment?

Why cant I just eat a Twix?

  • wghy is it that the tv is in black and white when its like 2077

  • @Ellegion10 they still keep that 50's vibe

  • @Ellegion10 It's an alternate future, just because WE made color displays, doesn't mean that they did. Maybe they put different research to the forefront of technology, like lasers, robots, and the like.

  • the only thing that vault tec made that had a FOR SAFE purpose...

  • What year is fallout set in its like 1950s when the bombs fell but its like the futer to?

  • @tenpinbowl12 the war was in 1950-2055 the bombs fell ar 2055 and your in 2077 ( not 100% on story )

  • @Krishannpatel it was 2077 when bombs fell. and then its 200 years after 2077

  • @Krishannpatel What game are YOU talking about? The bombs fell in 2077 and the game takes place in 2277, 200 years later.

  • children must have christmas present :)

  • i want to make mr. scary go way :(

  • They also offer Gunslinger, Commando, Sniper, Concentrated Fire, and Paralyzing Palm training with VATS.

And if you're one of the lucky ones, a stranger with a .44 magnum will give you a hand!

  • i must be very lucky then cause i get visits from that guy all the time

  • lol yeah, its like old people, they use their pants up at their belly button,we at the hip usually, and we think old people look ridiculous,I wonder how young people will wear their pants when im 60

  • Probley wont wear any pants at all looking at how those douchbagy wanna-be gansters wear their pants so damn low it looks like they took a shit and forgot to pull them up!

  • @Xzameron lol yeah,or maybe shorts will be popular XD

  • According to the game's manual, Fallout 3 is set in an alternate timeline which branched from the 1950s, with all the cultural norms of the '50s maintained throughout.

  • That guy gets captured by the aliens in Mother ship Zeta

  • If the bombs fell in 2077, how come all pre-war ads and stuff is so 1950's?

  • i think they were trying to keep the tradition of all the actuall old ads. cause all of them were in black and white.

  • and probably bcs that was the time of the so called cold war between the US and SSSR

  • no?!?!?2277 is not cold war time!!1955 is!!

  • becuase the 1950's we were all terrified of Nuclear Holocaust, war Propaganda and all that

  • @12Daniel34

Most of Fallout's style and the way radiation works in the game is based on 50's science fiction.

  • Cause thats how long the Cold wars lasted in Fallout. while war waged the 50"s look didnt change.

  • NO AGAIN!!!!

  • Because from 1960, to 2070, evryone was on holiday. To space. And there were monkeys. 10. 10 monkeys. And a parrot. And everyone had fun.

  • cause the game its a vision of how the 50's thought the future will be,im not sure if I made my point, get it?

  • lets just say that we are in two different dimensions, and we split apart after WWII and they continued towards military uses and nuclear's common use
