  • what language is this ?

  • I must say the last line, in the original gayatri it says vishunha (vish - unha, the last is like voiceless) and what i found in this page

    vedabase.net/v/visnu

in the second line you have viṣṇu-jana that it means the devotees of the Lord (in this case Vishnu). So i don't know if my relating it in a bad way, I'm sorry if i did it xP but that's what i could understand

  • Great song, im trying to find the meaning of their words. You have been looking for the meaning of the vishnu gayatri right?

I ve translated too and i got the same context that you putted on the video:

We (understand-know) to narayanaya (the resting place of all living entites or the Lord narayana i can't reach the right context)

We meditate on him, the son of Vasuveda (krishna, the eighth avatar of vishnu)

May Vishnu guide us, his devotees, for the enlightened path

  • 0:19 this tune reminds me a bit of Jaws

  • Beyond the senses is the mind, and beyond the mind is reason, its essence. Beyond reason is the Spirit in man, and beyond this is the Spirit of the Universe, the evolver of all. When the five senses and the mind are still, and reason itself rests in silence, then begins the Path supreme.

  • From delusion lead me to truth From darkness lead me to light From death lead me to immortality. He who knows both knowledge and action, with action overcomes death and with knowledge reaches immortality. In him are woven the sky and the earth and all the regions of the air, and in him rest the mind and all the powers of life.Know him as the ONE and leave aside allot her words. He is the bridge of immortality.

  • @mewthree88 I agree. I wish people wouldn't make jokes about a prayer set to music. :/

Although I do appreciate The Matrix for exposing mainstream western audiences like me to the beautiful things that are the Hindu scriptures, if they care to look for them. :)

And thanks for the uploader for the lyrics and translation! It's truly amazing.

  • nice job. thanks for uploading!

the bansuri at 7:32 is my favorite part ;) ... I know a little of sanskrit and the questionable chants in this song do sound similar to a few words, but I can't be sure :S

  • I couldent give less of a damn about the language, This is the final boss's theme of the internet :D

  • this is not bulgarian it is sanskrit it is an hindhu prayer. i used to say this every day . ASATHOMA SADH GAMAYA

    THAMASOMA JYOTHIR GAMAYA

    MRTHYOMA AMRTHAM GAMAYA

AUM SHANTHI SHANTHI SHANTHI Meaning: Lead me from the unreal to the real. Lead me from darkness to light. Lead me from death to immortality. May there be peace everywhere. It is an hindhu prayer + motto . I used to say it every day.

  • @10akhilv10 i do as well. i literally cheered when i heard this for the first time at the end of the matrix 3

  • @10akhilv10 We're talking about the part from 1:45 to 2:12.It sounds like traditional bulgarian music and the choir sings with open throat...But anyway...I can't be sue that this is bulgarian language, because I can't understand a single word...and I'm bulgarian.

  • @10akhilv10 hey thanks for translation ;) here you can see there are at least two peaceful religions that don't want to kill every one who don't believe in it

  • @10akhilv10 awesome. I am so going to say that evry day now.

  • This has Sanskrit Hindu Mantra from Upanishads.

    Asato maa sadgamaya

    Tamaso maa jyotirgamaya

    Mṛityor maa amṛitan gamaya

    Om shaanti shaanti shaanti

“From the unreal, lead us to the Real; from darkness, lead us unto Light; from death, lead us to Immortality. Om peace, peace, peace."

  • @100PurpleCoins

well that makes sense since its was an original composition for the movie

  • i wish it would have been more classical music instead of the techno that drops in after 1:19

  • From delusion lead me to the truth From darkness lead me to the light From death lead me to immortality From delusion lead me to the truth From darkness lead me to the light From death lead me to immortality We meditate on the supreme being who is the creator May his supremeness guide us We meditate on the supreme being Pray for peace Pray for peace Pray for peace Salutations to the son of the cosmic mother Salutations to the son of the cosmic mother
  • sanskrit is one of the bst languages to sing a song in. hebrew is anouther one

  • Eleshar24 I believe most of the verses here are in some Indian language. I confess, I cannot pinpoint which one exactly but they all sound very familiar to me. And also the ragas in-between the verses. Very Indian. A commendable job I must say. My complements.

  • sanskrit looks like seriban a lot...

  • @Arhandjel88 Both are remotely related, since both are Indo-European languages.

  • Yeah Awesome! 5 stars!!!!

  • Apparently, you only subtitled "Asato ma sad gamaya, tamaso ma jyotir gamaya, ritor-nam-ritam gamaya."

    Nothing else is downloaded.

  • @AndyRaslan There's a prayer for vishnu at arround 7:00 ... and there's a conversation going on about something said bulgarian or some other nordic language... The om shanti was left out because its pretty mainstream understood. If you cannot provide a better translation please refrain from such commentaries....

  • All u ppl r wrong, this is hindi and sanskrit...... its a normal prayer aas tou maa sadh gamaya tamso ma jyotir gamaya and so on.... where did german, chez come into picture??

  • hI ALL i AM AN indian.... i GIVE U SOME INFORMATION ABOUT sanskrit and this song....

SANSKRIT is a Mother of all languages.... Also lots of words of English taken from that.... like BHATRA became BROTHER.... MATRA became MOTHER.... TRIKONMITIYA became TRIGONOMETRY..!!!! AND THIS SONG LYRICS IS BASED ON THE BHAGWAT GITA- A HOLY BOOK OF HINDUS... like THE BIBLE FOR CHRISTIANS.....!!

  • i love this song 100/10 & ty for puting in the lyrics now i can sing along

  • This is Sanskrit language from India. and the verses are from Upanishads; the holy hindu Scripture.

:) I hope that help you guys.

  • 6:30 .. EPIC WIN!

  • oww my GOOODDD This makes me shiver in awe!

  • god, I love this music

  • asato ma sadgamaya

  • I don see any lyrics!!! except the upanishad, aum shanti.

  • what kind of music is this?? i mean.... there are rock, pop, techno, ... musics... what is this music's kind?

  • @zizun1996

it's a Vedic Aryan mantra, composed in fusion, I guess

  • @emperor0989

    ok.... ty ;)

  • @zizun1996 neo-classical, my friend. though simply you can call it fusion music.

  • @zizun1996 Kind of fusion mixed with rock and sort of tehnco

  • this song is like epic

  • omg!! sanskrit is indian (like from india-indian...not native american-indian lol) and i'm indian so i can understand parts of this!! idk how well i can understand it but i can kinda haha

i'm so proud that sanskrit/india is getting kinda common nowadays

thanks for posting this!! it's EPIC. i love it

  • tnx!!!!

  • love it man my fave song really epic if u take request can u make this song but with itachi uchiha

  • maya ..

  • this song is really epic

    5stars

  • :-(

    I wanted 1:45 lyrics...

    anyone knows?

its not in the sanskrit chant...

  • Actually in the song there are bulgarian voices and bulgarian language and rhythms from the Balkan peninsula... so... here you go, you now can translate the parts you don't understand

  • Interesting... could you try to write down the words? All I am able to identify is something like "omasaretoreva pa-...; onasare vaigayo" which does not remind me of any slavic language (I am a native speaker of Czech and can speak Russian a little bit).

  • i will try i promise i just need time to identify the languages which are in the song... ;)

  • The subtitled part is clearly sanskrit, no need to do research on that, I have already done mine. The only parts in question are 1:45 - 2:13 (repeated 7:09 - 7:22) and 3:18 - 3:37.

The one that begins 2:45 (and 7:59) is just repeated "om shanti" which is a call to peace (which I did not bother to subtitle).

So there is nothing to identify, if you recognised the bulgarian (which is your native tongue according to your profile). So we all await what the text in question means:)

  • @Eleshar24 The part between 1:45 - 2:13 definately sounds like punjabi, plus the woman's chanting is typical of the way it's done in a Gurudwara, it could be from Sikh scriptures(Guru Granth Sahib). My mother tongue is not punjabi though I could understand some but here I can't figure out anything which would make sense.

om sarva(always/for all) turva paayein(to get)

    uno saar(summary) pae gayi o

    naman(bow/greet/salutation) surva mang paayein

    uno saar pae gayi o

    Just a try..

  • @Eleshar24 The part at 3:18-3:17 is in sanskrit.

Om marijhkyaye( OR varijhyaye) namo namah (x3)

It should have been Om Adityaya(Aditya the Sun) Namo Namah (bow and hail/salutation)

but it's not sounding like that, and I am not aware of any deity synonymous with marijhkyaye( OR varijhyaye).

  • @Eleshar24 dude accoding to me from the knowledge that i have..the first part are from a prayer that i have been doing since my childhood..btw its a really great music..and i can only see sanscrit verses in it.hope its helps.

  • @Eleshar24 seems this part is in Punjabi, might be from Gurugrandh Sahib, The Sikh Holy Scripture.

  • Comment removed

  • @Eleshar24 This doesn't sound like Slavic language. (I'm native speaker of Croatian).

  • @Eleshar24 Its not in bulgarian, its entirely in Sanskrit

  • @Doomer4o15 - its not bulgarian, its sanskrit, ancient language of all indo-european people, so almoust all of europe, many european languages are related to this sanskrit, thats why you, me and others can hear its similarity with our native languages, we just ignore that we are all branches of one tree

  • @Doomer4o15

dude if you think about it, Sanskrit is where all the other languages got originated from- German, Latin etc sound very similar. English also has quite a few common words, so yes, I'd not be surprised if you find something that you can figure out

  • the origins of english are german so like u said german is likly from sanskrit, also alot of english words are from based on latin words which once again proves your point. it always frustrates me when ppl dont realise english is from germany (jus writing that to stop ppl arguing caus i know they will and for u ppl look it up b4 u argue its a western germany language)

  • No, Sanskrit is not the original indoeuropean language. Sanskrit is just another language descended from proto-indoeuropean (but it is true that sanskrit is much closer to PIE, because vedic sanskrit is about 3000 years older than modern English). Sanskrit belongs to the indo-aryan branch of the IE family, while English and German are from germanic branch (latin and romance languages from italic branch etc.). So common origins yes, but Sanskrit is not the predecessor of English or German.

  • @Eleshar24

Dude you are wrong. Trust me on this if you can. I have done a great deal of research on the Aryans and their history and origins. Sanskrit is the original Vedic language which has inspired all the other languages

  • @emperor0989 Latin takes its roots in sanskrit. English and germanic take their origins from latin.

  • @LordCinderWalk

French, Italian, spanish, Portuguese have their origins on latin not english or any germanic ones.

  • @milvom do you have a linguistics major or are you just trying to prove a point?

THis is sanskrit. far older. no.. i just woke up so i'll be nice. latin has its base from sanskrit.

that is all i'm gonna say. to answer what you said, yes. they are based on latin.. perhaps if you paid attention to what i said below we wouldnt be having tis little mumble.

  • @bitingfinger

yes. basically after the World of 3139 BC, called the mahabharata, all the Aryan kingdoms broke apart. The capital Hastinapur lost it's contacts with the world due to the lack of ineffective rulers. the other countries tried to maintain their Aryan culture but they could not. The war was very, very devastating so whoever survived, tried to put forth their own culture, but the basic idea remains the same, whether it be greeks, egyptians or zoroastrians

  • @bitingfinger i agree. english have many word who are based on latin an the most european countries too.

  • @Doomer4o15 its not bulgarian language ... :D i am bulgarian and i cant define a single world :DD

  • @Orcoholicc it is sanskrit an dead indian language.

  • @10akhilv10 not dead.. but not used as spoken language

  • @Doomer4o15

there is no Bulgarian you idiot entire song is in Sanskrit.

  • @blackutube1 Actualy i know that allready... that comment is from an year ago. So look when was the comment posted & then comment... Jerk..

  • @Doomer4o15 There is no language apart from SanSkrit ... nothing from the Balkan...

  • @JunoUno I ALLREADY KNOW DUDE ! I wrote that comment a YEAR AGO ! FFS ! Watch the dates PLS ! JEEZUS !!

  • @Doomer4o15 I'm bulgarian and this song deffinentally is not in bulgarian language

  • @Doomer4o15 No I'm Bulgarian and there are no Bulgarian words. It's more Greek than Bulgarian and I know cause if it was Bulgarian I would understand. But I don't understand anything lol.

  • @MaKaroV2BlitZ ABE TI DA NE MISLI6 4E NE ZNAM BRE ! 1 6IBANA GODINA MINA i vie vse o6te komentirate ! GLEDAITE PYRVO DATITE NA KOMENTARITE I TOGAVA KOMENTIRAITE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I always wanted to see someone show the lyrics.

  • Comment removed

  • what language is this?! please dont tell me hindo.

  • I know it is not stated explicitly in the description, but still I hoped it is quite clear that the language of the song is sanskrit, the liturgical language of India, not Hindi (Hindi is succesor to sanskrit).

  • @hamdanae Sanskrit. "Hindo" is not a language, dumbfuck. In fact, "Hindo" does not mean a damn thing.

  • thank you very much for the help

  • Epiiiiiiiiiiiic!!!! Eeeeeee! :D Thanks chu!!

  • I didn't knew it was in Sanscrit :)

  • Very helpful.

  • i've been looking for a long time after this ;)
