Man, that ticking of the engine or exhaust sounds just terrible. Need to get that corrected ASAP. That car is worth too much to just let it fall apart. Maintenance is critical if you expect that thing to keep running. Good luck to you though. :D

its very rare car.Engine sounds not good.Mine ex e34 518 has similar sound,fault was ex collector's bad gasket,so it works like a diesel too,or maybe here could be valves or lifters.

Could be leaky exhaust, but it sounds more like a worn camshaft. Sticky Hydraulic Valve Actuators don't sound quite like that either. That's a persistent tick that is characteristic of a worn camshaft that has been a victim of poor lubrication!
