im a filipino fyi there originated from mindanao and it is traditional here well im not a muslim im catholic even some of my friends are born again buddah theres no problem with being that way. its how they live life and how there region does so called traditions:D xD
FYI: The term "Muslim" in terms of Filipino dance ONLY covers the cultural sphere from which the dance is from (ie from the "Muslim-Filipino" community), it has NOTHING to do with Islamic religion, as orthodox Islam forbids dance and music! The Muslims of the Far East and Southeast Asia practice a relaxed Asian Folk-Islam, and so the attitude to dance, music and gender-segregation is more open when compared to Orthodox Muslim areas (Pakistan & Middle East for example).
Hi, I'm Indonesian. Muslims and christians in Indonesia dance hinduistic dances too, and it's not problem too. We understand that it is just performance, nothing to do with religion.
