@tmarie071 1) They are more convenient b/c you don't have to seperate the wipes and the cloth diapers (sometimes disposable wipes accidentally end up in the washer with your diaper that can cause a huge mess) 2) Some babies are allergic or sensitive to the chemicals in disposable wipes 3)They clean up a poo mess more effectively 4) They are cheaper b/c you re-use them instead of buying disposabel wipes all of the time
@tmarie071 I didn't even think about #1! When my husband and I were setting up our daughter's nursery, he even asked, "why are you using the manufactured wipes but CDing." I just told him I thought it would be easier since we already had some from our toddlers, plus their fragrance is strong enough to make poopy diapers more tolerable. However, you make a very good point that I didn't even consider before. Thank you!
ok question - how do you do cloth wipes with poopy diapers? i have been using cloth wipes only with pees because im thinking i dont want to put cloth wipes in hamper w diapers full of poop and using them then washing them all off doesnt seem convenient or rational at all. ideas would be wonderful!
Thank you for all that you share with the world of youtube, I am new to CDing (your videos are extremely helpful) and want to use cloth wipes as well, do you wash the wipes in the same wash as your diapers?
I have a question, when you rinse off diapers and cloth wipes with your diaper sprayer, is it ok to throw them in the diaper pail wet? or would their be concern for mold or a funky smell since after you spray them down they are wet.
I'm a bit late to this video but have a question for you. Hope you see this and respond. Let's see, how to phrase my question... when you have poop on the baby's bottom, a big nasty job, how do you use the wipe? Do you just wipe up baby's bottom and throw the wipe in the wash without rinsing it, just leave the poop on the cloth? How do you approach a big, poopy mess with a cloth wipe?
@ArmindaHeart Great question. Sometimes I will use toilet paper first to get some of the mess off before going in with a cloth wipe. Other times I will just spray the wipe off right along with the diaper with my diaper sprayer. If there is not a lot on the wipe it goes straight in the diaper pail and the washing machine will take care of it. If there is a lot I just spray it off : )
I'm new to CD'ing. Well, I will be when LO gets here in about three weeks. What do you do with the poopy cloth wipes? I want to use cloth wipes but I'm a little apprehensive.
@captioningchik If u plan on exclusively breastfeeding u don't need to do anything the first 6 months. breastmilk poop is completely water soluble so it can go straight in the washer. Otherwise If there is not a lot of poo on the wipe I put it directly in the diaper pail until wash day. If there is a lot on it I spray it off with the diaper sprayer right along with the diaper.
@08jaydensmommy08 the potion. m new to cloth diapering and still doing research. my impression was any chemical that we use on baby's bum might damage the lining of the cloth diaper. pardon, i know out of the subject, was just curious to know.
but guess what, i rushed to walmart and bought huggies disposable wipes (to have the container) and parent's choice towelletes, as there's no thin Gerber cloth on stock yet. i can't wait to see my baby on May to practice all your advices. thanks. hugs*
@sixpence516 These are just what we had on hand. I got all of them at my baby shower. They work just fine but I would go ahead and go with cloth wipes if u have the choice : )
Thank you SO much for this video! I am planning on cloth diapering, but cloth wipes actually scared me the most about the whole thought of cloth diapering. This really simplifies things! Thank you!
@TheLifeInTheNorth We just use the cheap Gerber washcloths. They fit perfect in a disposable wipe container when folded once in half. I would say you will need as many as you would use for about 2-3 days worth. Because u usually wash cloth diapers every 2-3 days.
Have you gone through a whole bottle of concentrate yet? If so, how long did it last til it was gone? I appreciate the response. The Lord Jesus bless you and your family.
I saw your method on thegracediaries here on youtube, I'm definitely doing this with my little guy when he arrives in October along with cloth diapering! Thanks :)
Great job! We use baby bits to make our solution. I've never tried to pop them up like that though. I'm not sure if mine would be too thick. Have to try it out.
I haven't seen these here in Ireland but am sure there must be something similar! Do you use cloth wipes to be environmentally friendly Excellent idea and well done for a great video! :)
@IrishCol1only haven't seen what? Cloth wipes? We mainly use cloth because we are already using cloth dipes so it's just easier to just throw them in with the diaper pail along with the diapers. Plus it saves money from buying disposables all the time! Although we still use disposables sometimes.
Thanks for the video! I am glad to see cloth diaper mommies on here! I just had a miscarriage but before, when I found out I was pregnant hubby and I did research and knew that this is something we want to do. God willing if we are blessed with a baby we will come back to this video and others to get money saving ideas and inspiration. Thank you once again! Hugs Lily
@babyvlog Some babies can't handle the chemicals in disposable wipes. Cloth wipes have no chemicals. plus they just work better at cleaning and they can save you money. Also we are doing cloth diapers anyways so its just easier for us to do cloth wipes so we dont have to worry about separating the wipes and diapers. All of it goes in the diaper pail then all of it goes in the washer. I am not saying disposable wipes are worse or aren't as good or anything. We actually use both. but mostly cloth
I just started using cloth wipes, I have wanted to for a while and finally got some. Why do you use distilled water?
