You could make a good argument for Kentucky and UNC to be the top programs of all time, i believe they are 1 and 2 respectively...then I believe Indiana/Kansas are interchangeable, then Duke. KU fan here. UNC has 5 titles to our 3. ANYONE that counts those Helms titles are just insecure. Yes, we should have more titles. But, just live with it. Carolina's success surpasses KU's. McGuire won the title over Kansas in 57. THERE WAS UNC basketball before Dean. A lot. I really don't see why any fan from either side should hate on us. @EnigmoEnigmo And Allen Fieldhouse is the loudest arena in the nation; there is no home court with "much" more impact. Cameron is great, I agree, but Kansas has the magical combination of awesome fanbase, student section, history, recent success, big names, volume, etc.... I mean, Dean Smith was born and raised in Emporia, KS, played basketball at KU as well as being a part of the 1952 national championship team, and was mentored by Phog Allen, but ended up creating a dynasty in Chapel Hill. Plus Roy never would have become UNC head coach if it weren't for his accomplishments at Kansas. Seems like you should be showing a little more respect to a program that ultimately created yours.

@EnigmoEnigmo Are you serious? There is no reason to go around insulting other programs. All of the schools you listed have amazing history. You are aware that there would be no legendary program at Kentucky or UNC without Kansas, right? Both Rupp and Dean Smith are former Jayhawks. Kansas is the ORIGINAL college basketball power. Kentucky and Carolina are great in their own right. Please just shut up and respect other fanbases. Hating won't get you anywhere : )

And I have also been to both Cameron and Allen (along with Rupp and the Smith Center) and can confidently say that the Phog is clearly the best. Cameron is close, to be sure, but a gym that small just can't quite muster the same thunder, regardless of fan passion. Cameron also looks better on TV due to seating arrangement.

@LectricSheepz ummmm no? I'm talking about the history. But technically, Kansas has lost to duke AND Kentucky (A teams) so I would say yes. Besides ranking means nothing, just like how ucf beat UConn. Any team can beat any team. Rankings are just bragging rights. Compare the history of teams like kentucky, UNC, ucla, etc. To Kansas. No comparison. and I can confidently say that duke, while is smaller, has much more of an impact. And as much as I hate duke, I have to say it.

@EnigmoEnigmo And Allen Fieldhouse is the loudest arena in the nation; there is no home court with "much" more impact. Cameron is great, I agree, but Kansas has the magical combination of awesome fanbase, student section, history, recent success, big names, volume, etc.... Cameron has crazy students, but they are lacking the long tradition that elevates Allen to #1. Oh, and Duke sucks a dick. We thoroughly outplayed them in Maui and got totally screwed by typical Duke bought officials.

@LectricSheepz Refs can't decide the game. So there was a travel at the end of the game...leading to the three that was sent in to beat us (KU). But when you act like it was a MISSED call that cost us the game...it sounds pathetic. Duke beat us. Man, if only we had the Plumlee that was posting up Robinson with ease...TO COMPLIMENT ROBINSON (meaning that plumlee playing at KU), that would be fantastic. Shall I keep going? and by the way VCU beat a lot of very good teams last year in the Tournament, and to be honest the "number" next to their name is pretty irrelevant. Point being, when you lose it doesn't matter how "high" or "low" they're seeded, at the end of the day you didn't get the job done. That's the whole beauty of March Madness.

@TheRockchalk10 9. Its only by 5, we will probably surpass you back this year (since Kansas lost quite a few players) 11. Naismith was only inducted because he invented basketball and Roy Williams was inducted AFTER he left Kansas. so that title should go to UNC so technically that's 2.
As for VCU beating Kansas, The only team that VCU really beat that was "good" was Georgetown.
But i respect Kansas too. They are a team to be feared and they've proved that over and over again.

@EnigmoEnigmo LoL inducted "after" he left KU is irrelevant. He made it coaching resume at KU. Nuff said. I never said Rupp/ Smith Coached there but they BOTH came from KU roots, BOTH born in Kansas. Rupp attended KU from 1919-1923 and played basketball for the legendary Phog Allen. As for Dean Smith he played basketball at KU. Winning the National title in '52, finalists in '53 under Allen. Assisted Allen in 53-54 and later stated, "Everything I ever learned about basketball, I learned from KU"

That Kansas also beat that great Flordia team when they were Fla. just freash off their 1st natinal title and were undefeated at the time...Ku beat #1 Fla. in Las Vegas in fall of 2006...so no one can say we didnt beat that team as well...also we were young as hell...KU 2007/08 one of the best teams ever.

I mean, Dean Smith was born and raised in Emporia, KS, played basketball at KU as well as being a part of the 1952 national championship team, and was mentored by Phog Allen, but ended up creating a dynasty in Chapel Hill. Plus Roy never would have become UNC head coach if it weren't for his accomplishments at Kansas. Seems like you should be showing a little more respect to a program that ultimately created yours.

@OutlawLovesNewVegas The only reason why Kansas "chokes" a lot is because we get in the Tournament EVERY year as a top team. 22 straight appearances, with the last 11 being seeded no lower than a 4 seed. No other team can say that, it would be pretty hard to not choke with stats like that. But keep overlooking that just like EVERY other dumbass hater. You and all the rest say the same shit over and over, yet no other team has been as consistent in the last 20 years. Not even close.
