Home ownership is a scam in America. Between sky-rocketing property taxes, sky-high medical debts, and criminal mortgage and banking systems, it's a losing proposition. Best to buy a house in another country and just rent a house in the US. Property taxes in many other countries are low, or in some countries (depending on home value), non-existent. LIve in a country with national health care and mass transit. America's suburbs are unviable. The whole US system has become unviable.

Yes I have, and no he isn't.

Stiglitz's schtick is to help absolve gov't functionaries of their Fannie Fascism; massive gov't infringement into mortgage markets; having the chutzpah to blame the mess on "deregulation".

Stiglitz is adored by Marxists because he's one of their few who almost worked for a living -- he held a job outside of academia, but in a gov't "bank". They hope such will grant credibility to his Marxist apologetics, at least to the economically illiterate. (It's working.)
