who decided that you need rhymes to make a good song? who decided that you need a beat to make people move? man, just had to get back at this joint, it just shows that you CAN use your imagination instead of just repeating the same shit. I Play the original at night, and i play the Mr. Midnight mix at night EVERYDAY, it just makes me feel complete. Lo-Ah.

on to the disco.... i was only 3 when this came out!!! lets just hope this and the next generation will be able to spread music on through the years....
question: if this is what ever one is do'ing now jus ten years later with more or less flavor- does that make this wack or todays hip-hop Fresh- no wise ass jus ask'in.
i used to sit up and get high as hell of this shit!!!!! real skills....they got slept on like az and common.people don,t recognize real rap skills if u don,t talk about rims, bentley,s and shit
I definitely agree! These dudes are SO TALENTED and they rapped about REAL shyt! They didn't submit to the ignorant and low standards of mainstream hip hop so they got pushed in the dark.
supposedly the sample is from Cal Tjader's song Leyte. But somehow it sounds like a different recording of the song. different then the one featured on youtube. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the recording is that camp lo used?
This cd is a must have. I'm a southerner, but I look at this cd a "poetry" rap. The tracks are jazzy/r &b ish to me. It's one of my favorites I ain't gonna lie.
camp-lo claim it's jive-talk, but yahe, it sounds like the kind of poetry that suggests themes, emotions, and mind-states. And a lot of that peotry must be deciphered, for example. "Blazing the loose cannons, on top of whit diamond sands" what exactly does that mean?
few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a A killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand
i have to agree Camp Lo was underrated. back in 96 i use to blast this in college. it was a shame how they was under appreciated for their time period, now people are finally appreciating Camp Lo style and originality 12 years later. during the 90's everyone was listing to Wu Tang, Biggie, Black Sheep, DMX, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, the Lox, TuPac, Dre and so fort while hidden talents goes unnoticed.
@KizaSoze25 in the late 90's alot of folks was lightweight on that gangsta shit, but when Camp Lo came out with that 70s look and lingo, thats what made their shit so nice an different from others. But YES underrated they are.

"...undercover faggot lovers...", bet this would'nt recieve radio play, even though it doesn't posses subliminals to make people hate or dis like Gay's, but their music is protect even though theirs posses subliminals to make people learn to be gay. Gay is primaraly a learned behavior, with the except of natures inperfections. Then most people must of learned to become that way. This could easily be viewed if one compare states of of birth rate of inperfection compared to the percentage of Gay's
This mix IS STILL HOT .... I still get tha disc out and play this track ... u aint gotta have a lotta music to enjoy a good artist .... camp bumpz in all wayz .....

What real shit are they rapping about? I really don't see them as rapping about anything important.
Don't get me wrong tho, it sounds good. This is one of my favorite songs.
darksaiyajin14 2 years ago
lol in this song they aren't really talkin' abut any real important issues but in some of their other songs they did.
missdoublemint2005 2 years ago
Haha.I can't understand any shit they say, but it sounds good.
I hear they get a lot of slang from blaxploitation movies. Like, I hear some of it, but can't really piece it together.
