I Play the original at night, and i play the Mr. Midnight mix at night EVERYDAY, it just makes me feel complete. Lo-Ah.

  • i remember i used to smoke weed to dis song

  • cant help but think...sadatay!!

  • first dude never rhymes, more like spittin organized poetry, but he's still tight

  • on to the disco.... i was only 3 when this came out!!! lets just hope this and the next generation will be able to spread music on through the years....

  • i was 6 when this album came out lol.... i love their sound

  • everybody who likes this song should download Diners Only by The Avalanches on itunes - better yet, get the whole album.

  • question: if this is what ever one is do'ing now jus ten years later with more or less flavor- does that make this wack or todays hip-hop Fresh- no wise ass jus ask'in.

  • Nah Camp Lo was stricly underground and not all of there songs are have such blaxplotation language in it.

'This is back in the day when laws were stern and justice stood, and people were behaving like hip hop was good'

  • this is one of my fav albums of all time... cop it if you want to add to a real hip hop archive

  • i used to sit up and get high as hell of this shit!!!!! real skills....they got slept on like az and common.people don,t recognize real rap skills if u don,t talk about rims, bentley,s and shit

  • I definitely agree! These dudes are SO TALENTED and they rapped about REAL shyt! They didn't submit to the ignorant and low standards of mainstream hip hop so they got pushed in the dark.

  • What real shit are they rapping about? I really don't see them as rapping about anything important.

Don't get me wrong tho, it sounds good. This is one of my favorite songs.

  • lol in this song they aren't really talkin' abut any real important issues but in some of their other songs they did.

  • Haha.I can't understand any shit they say, but it sounds good.

I hear they get a lot of slang from blaxploitation movies. Like, I hear some of it, but can't really piece it together.

  • word

this music to get high too

  • On March.4th, Camp Lo rapper Sonny Cheeba was in a serious car accident in Charlotte, North Carolina.. Hope your good Babes.. God Bless

  • rawness at its finest

  • supposedly the sample is from Cal Tjader's song Leyte. But somehow it sounds like a different recording of the song. different then the one featured on youtube. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the recording is that camp lo used?

  • Its a hidden track on Uptown Satruday Night, its the bubblin remix

  • This cd is a must have. I'm a southerner, but I look at this cd a "poetry" rap. The tracks are jazzy/r &b ish to me. It's one of my favorites I ain't gonna lie.

  • camp-lo claim it's jive-talk, but yahe, it sounds like the kind of poetry that suggests themes, emotions, and mind-states. And a lot of that peotry must be deciphered, for example. "Blazing the loose cannons, on top of whit diamond sands" what exactly does that mean?

  • I think he is talking about war. Cannons blazing on top of sand? Ya feel me? That's just my interpretation...

  • This cd is so underrated! A masterpiece in my eyes.

  • I agree Kiza.

  • i have to agree Camp Lo was underrated. back in 96 i use to blast this in college. it was a shame how they was under appreciated for their time period, now people are finally appreciating Camp Lo style and originality 12 years later. during the 90's everyone was listing to Wu Tang, Biggie, Black Sheep, DMX, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, the Lox, TuPac, Dre and so fort while hidden talents goes unnoticed.

  • @KizaSoze25

Absolutely. Uptown Saturday Night is a classic. More people should know it.

  • @KizaSoze25 in the late 90's alot of folks was lightweight on that gangsta shit, but when Camp Lo came out with that 70s look and lingo, thats what made their shit so nice an different from others. But YES underrated they are.

  • get your drizzy on

  • these men are beast this shit is hot period

  • These dudes give me chills everytime i listen to them!

  • No Drum Beat And The Flow Is Still As Sick As Ever. That's Talent.

  • this shit gave me chills when i heard this...so much talent not being recognized pisses me off!

  • I agree! This is REAL HIP-HOP!!

  • This mix IS STILL HOT .... I still get tha disc out and play this track ... u aint gotta have a lotta music to enjoy a good artist .... camp bumpz in all wayz .....

  • camp lo yo. u aint gotta make a club banger to make people move.simplicity rox!

  • This shit is hot. Me and my brother used to rock this shit!!

  • This is my jam as you can tell by line name. Much love to the Diamond Crooks! Lowa, Lowa, Lowa..

  • It's a great name, but what does it mean, Mr. Midnight? Camp Lo is awesome but I dont always get the lingo.

  • mr. midnight i would assume is the producer of the song..

  • there swagg was like no other, my old drinkin song all day.
