probably having a go after hearing some Morton Subotnik. for this style of early abstract electronic, it is quite well recorded. my interest increased when i noticed he mixes in some guitar, violin, room noise & whatnot. the electroacoustic portions are some of the best. certainly a better recording than "The Third Ear" by Pascal. i'd rather listen to this than John Cage.
this is super cool. i've been a george fan for a long time, but i only just realized about an hour ago that i haven't ever listened to this. i am now about to buy it on vinyl :)
You have to regard this with an open mind and space travel perspective. Imagine it's the 23rd Century, and a shipload of humans have been moving towards a habitable planet several trillion miles away from planet Earth. When they awake, they discover that whilst asleep, the onboard computers had developed the ability to manipulate and record stellar signals into electronic music. They were essentially...bored. The travellers were simply thankful there were no hostile attacks enroute. Peace
i can't believe people think it's crap, other music studios in the 70's would've killed to have this new electronic sounds in with them, this was in the 70's so it had just came out so it wouldn't be as good as some of it is now, so some of it is 'crap' but when you put them together it sounds cool, the beatles and solo george played with this new electronic sonds for hours because they thought it was amazing and cool.
I imagine Moog music was very new and people marveled at the sounds at that time. I remember bringing home my first analog synth, I was doing stuff that sounded like this. Back then, this was absolutely crazy, but now it sounds like a lot of bleeps and fartz. BTW this is not as bad as Lou Reed's "Metal Machine".
I like trippy....always have. But this is clearly better for an LSD induced "altered state" of mind. I suppose I would dig this on acid. I just tried closing my eyes here at the computer and focus in on the sounds moving from one ear to the other in my headphones, but all I keep getting is images of creepy dead guys putting their bony hands on my shoulder.
There's not a whole lot to it. Maybe I'd feel a little more if I popped some pills. I suppose it's more interesting than All Things Must Pass. Either way, I'll stick with other experimental music.
@elektra1984 : you guys got to bear in mind that hallucinogens were very popular. Now, I don't do drugs and don't condone their abuse, but I could say that this music is the perfect companion for such instances.
@elektra1984 Yes. To some people it isn't crap. I'm sure some of what you enjoy listening to could warrant this sort of response. I'm also sure you wouldn't enjoy seeing comments like this on videos of songs you enjoy so go express yourself someplace else.
@elektra1984 In your opinion. I'm hoping that the numbers in your name don't indicate the year you were born because if they do how fucking pathetic and immature are you? Maybe we should all be like you and go post negative comments on the crappy videos you upload.
Wow, this is so cool! I think it shows a side of George that's entirely different from the one shown in the songs on All Things Must Pass (and his other albums, for that matter). He was more experimental than most people seem to know. It actually reminds me of Pink Floyd.

what a piece of crap, if someone released a cd with Paul farting you could still find idiots that would say they love it, and this piece of shit proves, i love George as he is my fav Beatle and solo, but this is just a joke, ridiculous

anyway, it also makes great atmospheric listen,
despite it's too "raw" and "amateurish"

fairly decent ambient music,
as live performance with more adequate videoprojection, it could be great:)

I absolutely love the "Electronic Sound" album from George Harrison. It's way ahead of its time and it turns 40 this year. Unbelievable. Great stuff.
