@imajurell It is hard to compare their playing. Jake always plays in re-entrant tuning, compared to James who often plays with a low G. Their styles are very different, Jake's being more traditional, and James' being more of a classical approach. Comparing them is like comparing a finger-picking to flat-picking. Both styles are difficult to master, but in different ways.

@hobiegal If he played it on guitar then perhaps, but any videos of jung playing mario were on ukulele, and nowhere near as clean and flawless as james hill. Sungha jung is exceptional, and will be one of the greatest guitarists of our time, but he can't compete with james hill on ukulele. Almost no one can.

@schnisha95 I can see where you're coming from but im unsure. They're both amazing, i think it would take someone who knew more about ukulele to really make that judgement. Jake is freaking intense though, and it certainly looks, at least to my eyes, like he plays more technically demanding pieces.

@jason96732 Can Jake play this piece better if not good? If so, where can I hear it? I have both their recordings and asked many people for their opinions. All of them said James' technique is more complex-ed and better skilled. Jakes's music is entertaining but many people can duplicated his stuffs than James. Youtube have more people imitating copying Jake's since it's doable. As a beginning uke player, I have more difficulty emulating James' music than Jake's

I'm sure James can both sing the lyrics and play the interlude. James may not be as well known as Jake. Roy Sakuma at his ukulele festival in 2006, stated, "James Hill, the best ukulele virtuosos in the world." Try and refute my argument rather than give meaningless 1 sentence statement. Show me your intelligence.

Try muting strings w/ the thumb and creating new chords. Try playing a tune and flicking the body of the ukulele w/ finger as a drum accompaniment in beat.

Search engines to determine world's best? I hope that this is not best you do. Again address my arguments -- singing or ability to play the difficult parts of "Why My Guitar Gently Weeps." Can Jake play "Super Mario Brothers" or "Flight of the Bumble Bees? It's true that James may not be as known Jake. Just because one is not well known doesn't means that person is not the best. I dare you to be objective in comparing the two if your intellect or pride can handle it.
