thats footage from the Planet Earth docs, i would know i have them, how is the disney thing different? i see the commercials and all that i see are scenes from Planet Earth...
I've seen the "Planet Earth" documentaries, and they are fascinating. So, like you when I saw the previews for this it seems so recognizable, and I read up on it.
There is no difference really.
The footage is the same, but edited and compacted highly to a feature film length. I imagine this is for the benefit of the ADD crowd which seems to be everybody these days.
Swap out Sigourney Weaver for James Earl Jones cause he's Simba's dad and all.
Part of me wants to think it's neat to bring this experience to a younger audience.
Among many great nature documentaries, "Planet Earth" is top notch. However the topic is so grandiose it's nigh impossible to do it any justice.
But, to take the greatest attempt of this, and chop it to pieces and only focus on the cute dolphins and cuddly bear cubs then I fail to see the point.
I'd feel differently if Disney clearly cited their source material so some might take the time to learn more.
You are a douche bag if you really think that. The original planet earth is beyond glorifying of our planet and they don't focus on dolphins and bear cubs you dumbass. You must not have watched it and are one of those trolls that just need to get their retarded opinion everywhere.
I was responding to a question about the difference between the original "Planet Earth" documentaries, and the "Disney Earth" feature film that is nothing more but a heavily edited version of the series using the same footage.
I have watched the documentaries, and enjoyed them tremendously.
I also believe I was rather clear in my statements.
I think maybe you didn't notice my comments were posted as a response.
I don't think that I'm wrong. I don't consider this an expansion, but rather a presentation of footage already aired with some additions.
Mostly the hippy-dippy save the earth theme.
Look at it this way. Disney made a movie, without actually making a movie. Then they turn into an "our earth is in danger film" rather than the documentary it was meant to truly be.
Wonder if Disney owns stock in green energy? Miley sure does like to pimp her Prius.

The guy above is wrong, this is an expansion of the original footage.
