@TheTaltiko If u want to make a beautifull world a gravity mob trap can look prety ugly, so you build it underground.. But you dont want to walk to the mob trap, you want to move up the items at ground level where your chests are at.. but how are you going to do that eh??

@StarlightDemonIV At the end of one of your tubes, you have a piston. The tube ABOVE the piston simple needs to be turned 90 degrees. The piston will lift the item into the flow, and the flow points, Left, for example. You keep repeating that process and you have a spiral :D

It is a smart idea if your short on pistons. A faster way to move the items up is to replace the water with a piston pushing it forward a block. The water design has the advantage of each level being from 1 to 8 blocks long, but using double the pistons speeds up the process faster.

When you place ice on the botom u can have your items travel really fast. You can mine ice with the silktouch enchantment.

This could definitely be improved. If I were you, I would put the 'stairs' as close together as possible in order to conserve redstone. I'm too lazy to test right now, but it would either be going up a block for every block traveled or one for every two. I would guess one block upwards for every two horizontally because when a piston is extended right next to a water source block the water doesn't move.
