When is not safe to park the ship or go to the ports of calls. The Cruise line has the right to cancel one or all ports of calls and go to another ports of calls. Or don't cruise
I would like to add, when you board any cruise ship (other than one ship NCL America line) you are no longer in the United States. You are protected by FBI if you go missing regardless where you are in the world, but the U.S. government has little to do with operations. Carnival is not an American corporation, so you really cannot complain to the government. Read the CRUISE CONTRACT!
I particularly like how that one girl turns around and says "no! We all of our money back becuase we didn't go anywhere!" Totally rediculous! Did they not eat, enjoy entertainment, shit in the toilet? I understand why one would be mad, but what do you do? Jump off the ship? They should have made the best out of the situation and enjoyed the wonderfull ship instead of being inside acting like a bunch of idiots.
I was there, and unless you were also, it's unfair to say that "these passengers give carnival a bad name" Carnival KNEW of the impending outbreak, and did not give us the option to cancel or postpone our trip. We watch as other cruise liners let their passengers disembark in Cabo, while we had to stay on the ship. And after day after day of doing the same things, and eating at the same places, it gets old! Thank God Carnival is now giving us 50% off towards a future cruise. It about time!
I think because the competition did infact do soemthing for their passengers prompted Carnival to act.
Beware, anyone who does business with Carnival. The US Better Business Bureau and The US Department of Consumer Affairs give Carnival Cruise Lines their lowest rating for customer complaints.."Highly Unfavorable".

They should all have read their cruise contract before getting on board the ship; it they didn't like what it said, they shouldn't have sailed! I feel badly for what happened, but the contract is very specific on how the cruise line deals with situations such as this!
carnival doesn't do anything for its passengers in these cases because legally they do not have to. Nor do they feel they have any obligation to do so either. When the competition offered incentives to passnegrs stuck in the same conditions and Carnival did not says a great deal about what Carnival feels about their passengers. It is appaulling to think you trust ones vacation time and lives to a company who continually acts like they do not care.

I sympathize with the folks whose vacation was interrupted, and I do think Carnival owes you some compensation somehow, but it is still so very disheartening to see people so angry and upset like this. They almost ruined ours too - We live in LA, we wanted to go to Mexico for our honeymoon, not CANADA! They gave us THREE Days to choose: cancel and get credit for another cruise, or go to Canada. NOT even get a refund, they wanted us to reschedule. I was ready to give the credit to my mom or someone who could go another time of year. We don't get but that one week off during the year. I CRIED... We did reschedule but it's now three weeks after our wedding.

They know nothing and do nothing. my 12 year old daughter tried to suprise her mom with a massage, we tried to cancel the massage 15 min after she made the reservation and they charged us $30 fine even knowing a minor made the appointment 15 min ago! We will not sail carnical again. I bet no one in the video got a refund at all!

As many others have noted, the ports of call may well change or be cancelled. I feel sorry for the staff having to deal with these people.
