the simple fact is Cypriots are Cypriots, a Greek speaking and Hellenic people, along with them were some Muslim Cypriots, remnants of the Ottoman empire who identified themselves as Cypriots.
The Rum and the Turk Cypriots lived in peace for many centuries, internal problems never gave Turkey the right to invade nor did America have the right to deter the Greek Airforce from defending Cyprus, don't you see, it wasnt just Turkey, but at the behest of the US turned brother into enemies
Before Turkey made a military intervention in Cyprus. Every day tens of Turkish (minority in the island) dead news were coming. Turkey warned the international society to stop all these massacres for long and long years. Finally she had to make it happen by herself.
Eoka was aiming to kill all Turkish people in the island or force them to move Turkey, then they were planning the Enosis (uniting Greece and Cyprus). Only after the military coup in Greece for this aim, Turkey started operation!

There were Taksim (division) papers drawn up by the Turks since 1948. They just took advantage of the greeks intervention and used that as their cover

"official" history books that were studied in the turkish schools tried to impose the thing that 12 islands on the aegean sea and the cyprus belonged to us.Turkish governmetns always looked for for a reason to get them back and in 1974,they sent the troops to cyprus.
